iPod Water Phone

Posted in Mobile Phones by Conner Flynn on June 3rd, 2009

iPod Water PhoneWhen you design phones while on crack, there are bound to be some bad results. The iPod Water phone, despite it’s name, isn’t waterproof and it doesn’t even look like an iPhone. These knock-off companies are really slipping lately. I’m very disappointed. I thought the idea was to make your thing look like the other more desirable thing.

The specs are also disappointing, featuring dual band GSM connectivity, a 2.2″ display, audio and video playback, Bluetooth support and a built-in digital camera of unknown megapixel count. It also has an integrated FM tuner to help you keep radio alive.

Samsung unveils Pixon 12 camera phone

Posted in Samsung by Shane McGlaun on June 3rd, 2009

samsungpixon12-sbAll of the phones I have ever owned, including my iPhone, seem to have the camera added as an afterthought. The camera on most phones is junk that won’t take a decent picture, especially in low light. The crap camera is my biggest complaint on my iPhone.

Samsung has taken a different route with its new Pixon 12 camera phone. The camera is the big draw for the device with 12-megapixels of resolution and a full touchscreen. The camera has autofocus and the user can touch the touchscreen to tell the camera where to focus in the shot they frame up.

You might remember all of that talk of a $99 iPhone at Walmart from a while ago. It looks like the timing was off but it may actually happen. This also jibes with today’s earlier rumor here.

LG preparing mobile phone with 12 MP camera

Posted in LG by Conner Flynn on May 15th, 2009

LG preparing mobile phone with 12 MP cameraLooks like LG will be releasing a new 12-megapixel cell phone later in the year. Take it with a grain of salt, but it could very well happen. 12-megapixels will likely replace the new 8-megapixel camera phones that are all over the market.

Sure, the lens isn’t up to par with those of a standard digital camera, but it’s always a march forward. Lens tech will just have to catch up. Who cares if those extra MP are useless?
