Acer unveils Aspire Ethos laptops in the US and Canada

Acer’s new Aspire Ethos 8951G and 5951G laptops were already available for £999 in the UK and now they can be had in North America. The AS8951G and AS5951G feature 18.4-inch and 15.6-inch HD displays and USB 3.0 ports, along with Core i5 and Core i7 Sandy Bridge silicon and GeForce GT 555M graphics.

They also pack in 5.1 channel surround sound. The AS5951G and AS8951G are $1,400 and $1,600, respectively. Prices start at $1,200 and $1,500 CAD in Canada.

Pioneer SE-CL331 Washable Earphones

The Pioneer SE-CL331 are the world’s first washable earphones. They can be soaked and washed after every session if you like and it won’t damage the electronic equipment. They are available in white, bright blue and pink.

SoCool X7 Android Tablet

Chinese-based SoCool (We can’t vouch for their coolness factor) is showing off their newest Android tablet called the X7. The device sports a 7.0-inch 800 x 480 multi-touch display, a MALI400 GPU, 512MB DDR2 RAM, and 8GB of flash storage.

Other features include a microSD card slot (up to 32GB), 1080p Full HD video playback, WiFi, a mini USB port, an HDMI port, a 3800mAh battery and Android 2.2 OS. No info on pricing or a release date yet.

Logitech G400 optical gaming mouse available for pre-order

Logitech’s MX518 optical gaming mouse has been around for awhile, and it is finally getting an upgrade as the new G400. The outside design hasn’t changed much. It’s grey in color and has a cable that’s “thinner and twenty-five percent lighter.”

The new stuff is all on the inside. The optical sensor is two times as sensitive with a maximum 3,600 DPI resolution that maintains a tracking speed of 140 inches per second. If you drop $50 you can get a pre-order from Logitech in the US and it will be available on June 19th.

T-Mobile G-Slate Now Just $399.99 With Contract

T-Mobile has lowered the price of the G-Slate Android tablet to $399.99 with a 2-year contract and after a $200 mail-in rebate. Not bad right? If you were thinking about getting one, now is the time.

You might remember that the G-Slate features an 8.9-inch 1280 x 768 3D-capable touchscreen display, a 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core processor, a front-facing 2.0-megapixel camera, two 3D rear cameras, 32GB of internal storage, a gyroscope sensor, 1080p Full HD video playback support, GPS, WiFi, an HDMI port, a 6400mAh battery and Android 3.0 Honeycomb is running the show.

Silicon Power Diamond D10 USB 3.0 Portable Hard Drives

Silicon Power has a new line of USB 3.0 portable hard drives called the Diamond D10. The ones above look pretty shiny. They are available in 500GB, 640GB, 750GB and 1TB sizes.

They are functional and stylish. The 2.5-inch hard drives come with a classic checkered design, a USB 3.0/2.0 interface and come bundled with a carrying bag. We don’t have any info on pricing or a release date yet though. When we know, we will let you know.

Samsung Dart to arrive on T-Mobile

A few days back T-Mobile announced 2 new mid range Android phones, the Samsung Exhibit 4G, available in Black and Violet, and the Samsung Gravity Smart. However there is another mid range Android phone coming to T-Mobile. The Samsung Dart, otherwise known as the Samsung T499 or Galaxy Mini.

The Samsung Dart is the T-Mobile version of the Galaxy Mini, and will come in gray. The Samsung Dart will feature a 240x 320 screen, a 2MP Camera, no flash, 3G bands, Bluetooth 2.1, Android 2.2.

Sony announces NEX-C3 and Alpha A35 cameras

The NEX-C3 uses the same format APS-C image sensor as its predecessor, bringing resolution to 16.2 megapixels in a camera body smaller than the NEX-5. Sony says that it is designed to fill the gap between point-and-shoot and DSLR cameras, and is the smallest body to pack an APS-C sensor, with DSLR-level image quality.

The same 16.2 MP chip is also in the full-size Alpha A35, which replaces the A33. Both can shoot at up to 5.5 fps (the A35 adds a 7 fps mode at 8.4 megapixels), and include 3-inch LCDs, with the NEX keeping its tilt display, and the A35 adding Sony’s Translucent Mirror live-view mode, and an electronic viewfinder.

Zotac ZBOX mini PC

The Zotac ZBOX mini PC is powered by VIA’s latest dual-core processor and measures just 12cm x 12cm x 4cm. This compact mini computer uses VIA’s low-power Nano X2 processor that will come in 1.2GHz or 1.6GHz speeds.

It also features VIA’s PadLock data encryption engine for some extra security, an SD memory card reader slot, a few USB 3.0 ports, HDMI and DisplayPort outputs. No info on pricing yet however. Hopefully we will know soon.

Gears of War limited edition Xbox 360

This beautiful Xbox 360 console, with a blood-red Gears of War 3 theme, is set to launch on September 20th, with a 320GB hard drive, two matching wireless controllers, and of course a copy of the game as well as some DLC goodies.

The whole bundle will cost you $400, but if you just want those red controllers, it will cost you $60 on August 11th. This console looks good.

Acer announces new Aspire TimelineX Series laptops, starting at $599

Acer has refreshed their Aspire TimelineX notebooks with a redesign and Sandy Bridge processors too. The 13.1-inch 3830T, 14-inch 4830T, and 15.6-inch 5830T all sport a two-tone aluminum design, USB 3.0, a choice of Core i3 and Core i5 CPUs, and Acer’s clear.fi software for sharing media among DLNA devices.

The 14- and 15.6-inch versions feature onboard optical drives and number pads, and on some models, you can choose a discrete NVIDIA GeForce GT520M or GT540M card. The screen resolution is 1366 x 768 on all of these. The 3830T, 4830T, and 5830T are available now, starting at $799, $699, and $599.

Nyko unveils new accessories for Kinect and 3DS

Nyko has unveiled some new gaming gear. Zoom for Kinect is a pair of clip-on glasses that lets you get 40 percent closer to the sensor bar with no loss of function. Then there’s Nyko’s Play Clock, a charging dock for Nintendo’s 3DS that also functions as an alarm clock.

Nyko also introduced a trio of new extended battery packs for the 3DS. There’s the Shock n’ Rock that brings three times the juice, “added vibration feedback,” and four speakers. The Power Grip is an ergonomic external battery that also triples the 3DS’ battery life. The Game Boost battery snaps on for an extra hour or two of life. Prices and availability remain unknown for now.

Sharp To Launch LED AQUOS R5 Series In Japan

Sharp is ready to launch the LED AQUOS R5 Series in the Japanese market later this month. This LED TV features a DBXL/DVD burner, a digital TV tuner, USB recording, YouTube and Ethernet.

Both the 26-inch and 32-inch models feature an HD resolution (1366×768), while the 40-inch model has a Full HD resolution (1080p). It is available in 26-inch, 32-inch and 40-inch models. The Sharp LED AQUOS R5 Series will cost you 120,000 Yen ($1,499), 140,000 Yen ($1,749) and 180,000 Yen ($2,248).
