iriver P8 player shows up on Russian site

iriver has not updated its P series of large-screen portable media players in quite some time, so you are likely as surprised as we are that this five-incher has shown up on the company’s Russian site. With a battery life of up to nine hours of video and 40 hours of audio to boot.

The P8 comes in 8GB and 16GB sizes, sports a microSD slot, and an HDMI port for pushing HD content to a TV. We have no idea if it will ever land on American shores or how much it will cost when it does, but we like what we see.

AOC e2251Fwu USB-Powered LCD Monitor

AOC is getting ready to ship their latest USB-powered LCD Monitor: The e2251Fwu. It was shown off at the CEA Line Show in New York last week and will be available soon.

This 21.5-inch widescreen monitor delivers 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 200 cd/m2 brightness and a 5ms response time. Of course it is powered by USB. The AOC e2251Fwu will go on sale in August for an unknown price.

Sharp PW-AC30 and PW-AC40 Pocket Dictionaries

Sharp has unveiled two new pocket dictionaries that are available next month. The Sharp Brain PW-AC30 and PW-AC40. The former supports Chinese handwriting input, while the latter supports Korean handwriting input.

Both have a 2.4-inch color touchscreen display with QVGA resolution, a 3.5mm audio jack and a QWERTY keypad. The Sharp Brain PW-AC30 and the PW-AC40 will be available in Japan on July 15, 2011 for about $246.

Mark Neumann Coliseum XLS Speakers For $40,000

If you have a spare $40,000, these Mark Neumann Coliseum XLS speakers are what you want. Only 13 pairs will be produced. They reproduce audio using 360 degree disbursement capabilities inspired by the grand piano.

Made from wood, these speakers each measure 43.75-inches tall, 18-inches wide and 22-inches deep. They also feature a few 7-inch E7 reference drivers with high frequency tweeters on each channel and a bass system that features two 8-inch woofers with a frequency range of 20Hz to 20,000Hz.

Microsoft Still Skeptical About 3D Gaming

Sony and Nintendo have embraced 3D, but Microsoft’s Xbox 360 has yet to actively support it. Xbox senior product manager David Dennis says that the company is taking a wait and see approach and you can’t really blame them.

He says that Microsoft will not implement 3D in the 360 until 3D proves its staying power and gamers demand it.

Motorola XOOM gets Android 3.1 update in Europe

If you own a Motorola Xoom and live in Europe, you can now download the Android 3.1 Honeycomb update.Looks like the SD memory card slot on the XOOM is finally sorted out as well. According to Motorola, the update will be coming over the next several weeks and that the functionality will vary by region.

So if you are in Europe and have a Xoom, you must be pretty excited right about now. Motorola really didn’t say much else about the update, so other improvements may be less useful than the Sd card slot.

Mitsubishi 92-inch 840 3D DLP Home Cinema TV

Mitsubishi is releasing their not so affordable 92-inch 840 3D DLP Home Cinema TV next month. It features a resolution of 1080p, so that you can enjoy your high-definition Bluray and DVD movies the way they were meant to be seen.

The HDTV also uses DLP rear-projection technology, features a built-in emitter, four HDMI inputs, Bluetooth for audio streaming, the Jade user interface and a 120Hz sub-frame refresh rate. It’s priced at a steep $5,999.

Interactive advertising coming to Kinect

Try as you might, you just can’t escape advertising. Well, if you have a Kinect, you will soon be able to make full use of both voice and motion commands to interact with ads. I can tell, you are thrilled at the prospect. NUads will apparently be on the Xbox 360 dashboard or embedded in games and other content.

Soon you’ll be able to issue voice commands to request more information about products via email or text messages and advertisers will be able to prompt you to say ‘Xbox Near Me’ and a map to the nearest retailer will be sent to your phone. You’ll also be able to do things like vote for your favorite brands / products using motion control.
