We’ve been hearing rumors of a Google Chrome OS tablet hitting Verizon for awhile now. The latest rumor has Google’s Chrome OS tablet is being built by HTC, and it will apparently be launched on Verizon on November 26th.

The device will be subsidized by the carrier, and much cheaper than the iPad. The rumor says that it has the following specs: An NVIDIA Tegra 2 platform, 1280 x 720 pixel multi-touch display, 2GB of RAM, a 32GB SSD, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G connectivity, GPS, Webcam and Expandable storage.

We wish we knew, but sadly no one is sure when the R2-D2 version of the Droid 2 is going on sale, so in the meantime keep using your 3G or 3GS iPhone for a little longer, so you can use this R2-D2 case.

It may not be as cool as the R2 version of the Droid 2, but it gets the job done for a cheaper price. You can pre-order it now for just $30. Awesome right?

If any of you out there though that the iPad would fail, you were so wrong. The iPad is selling faster than Apple can build them and the demand is showing no signs of letting up.

Apple is building all the iPads it can and if it were not for screen shortages, it would build more. The sales success is a good thing for Apple, but not a good thing for other companies like Asus. Asus has announced that its Eee sales forecasts are being reduced to 1.4 million units for Q3.

The folks over at Boy Genius Report have received some inside information about some new Android smartphones and tablets that are headed to Verizon Wireless. Looks like there will be a Motorola Droid Pro with a 4 inch display, a 1.3GHz processor, and global roaming, that should be set to launch in November 2010.

There will also be a business edition of the Motorola Droid 2, with a world edition global roaming feature, plus it looks like there may also be an Android based tablet, or maybe a slab style touchscreen smartphone.

Apple might not be offering an OS X tablet, but Axon Logic is now taking pre-orders for its Haptic tablet, which is apparently suitable for hackintosh Mac OS X installations. The company does officially warn against installing OS X, due to licensing restrictions, but the tablet is said to be specifically designed for compatibility with any Darwin-based operating system, like Apple’s Snow Leopard and earlier versions of OS X.

It’ll cost you $750, and you’ll need to purchase your own operating system like Windows or OS X, and the company also offers accessories like a CDMA 3G card, USB Bluetooth dongle, Bluetooth GPS receiver and some others.

After months of waiting we finally have some pricing information for the Notion Ink Adam tablet. It could be one of the first tablets to ship with a Pixel Qi display which is as easy to read outdoors as indoors and uses 80% less power when in outdoor/black and white mode. It could also be one of the first tablets to ship with an NVIDIA Tegra 2 chipset.

This Android 2.2 powered device will still need to get FCC certification before it hits the US, but it will be priced between $399 and $498.

When knockoff makers get creative it’s always a surprise because they are so uncreative the rest of the time. Here we have an Adidas flip phone. The Adidas brand is even spelled correctly and it actually looks like a shoe. Adidas should be running with this idea and making an official phone themselves.

This “adidass808″ is not that great when it comes to specs though. It features a 2.4 inch screen (240 X 320), dual SIM card slots and camera (1.3 megapixel), FM radio, micro-SD card slot, mini-USB port, and a removable battery. It’s based on GSM, and runs “MTK platform”. There’s also up to 4 hours of standby time and 3 hours of talking time.

The BlackBerry 9300 Curve 3G is finally official today. If you told T-Mobile to bring it, consider it brought. Though we still have no word on what it will cost. It’s basically an entry-level smartphone, so you can expect a reasonable price.

The 9300 Curve 3G will be able to support AT&T’s 3G bands, but there is still no word from AT&T on whether they will release the device or not. The BlackBerry 9300 Curve 3G is another BlackBerry device that runs on the recently introduced BlackBerry OS 6.0.

Quanta Computer, a notebook manufacturer out of Taiwan, will be handling the upcoming tablet device from RIM, which is called the BlackBerry BlackPad. Looks like this Android-powered device will launch in November 2010.

The BlackPad will include both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi as well as a 3G connection if it is hooked up through a BlackBerry. Orders will begin shipping in September and theY expect to move 2 million units this year, quadrupling that amount in 2011. For now, the price looks like it is $499.

Samsung has announced yet another touchscreen phone in South Korea. This time with a twist. The Nori (SHW-A220) targets users who like to customize their phones with accessories and make them look like tiny people.

Nori users can customize it with eight unique character adhesive films in all. Some features include a 3-inch touchscreen display (240×400), a 3.2MP rear camera, 1.3MP front facing camera, 3G, Wi-Fi, T-DMB, GPS, Bluetooth 2.1, Etiquette mode, SOS, microSD card slot (up to 16GB) and 1000mAh battery.

The Netronix PocketBook 602 e-book reader has been approved by the FCC, like a freshly born child smacked on the butt and sent on it’s way. That means that this eReader will be available in the US market very soon.

The device features a 6-inch e-Ink display with a 532MHz Freescale ARM11 processor, optional Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 3G/3.5G wireless data and a customized Linux OS. The Netronix PocketBook 602 also supports PDF, ePUB, FB2, HTML, TXT, PRC, MOBI, RTF, DOC, JPG, and MP3 file formats. It looks pretty good in black.

Amazon.co.uk has started to ship its recently announced Kindle to those living in the UK, and while they were at it, they have also opened the UK Kindle Store. £149 will get you the 3G model, while for £119 you can get the Wi-Fi-only model. Digital books range from £3 to £11.

The UK Kindle Store will have a wide range of titles, with the usual New Releases and Bestsellers. You can pick from more than 170 top UK and international newspapers and magazines. All subscriptions will be delivered automatically to your Kindle, and there’s a free 14-day trial.

The long-rumored and eagerly awaited BlackBerry Torch just went live on AT&T’s site, so you can now sign up for a notification about when you can buy it. Some features include a 5 megapixel camera with flash, full QWERTY slide, 802.11n support, and BlackBerry 6.

There’s also 4GB of storage onboard with a 4GB microSD card in the box, 512MB of ROM and RAM, a quadband 3G radio, a 3.2 inch 480 x 360 touchscreen display, optical trackpad down below, and a new Media Sync feature.

It’s been teased since way back in April, but RIM has finally unveiled all the details on its BlackBerry 6 operating system. The software features a whole mess of updates, most notably new universal search functionality, social network aggregation, WiFi-powered media sync with your desktop music collection, and an all-new WebKit-based browser with support for HTML5.

RIM has also committed to bringing BlackBerry 6 as an upgrade to some of their recent models like the Bold 9700, Bold 9650, and Pearl 3G “subject to carrier certifications in the months ahead.”
