Tire Tread iPhone 3G caseHere’s an iPhone case that’s a bit different. If you’re in the market for a case for your iPhone 3G, but you “tire” from the search, this may be for you. The Case-Mate Vroom Tire Tread Pattern Case features 100% impact resistant rubber and it’s only $15.

Its rubber case can protect your expensive phone by cushioning the blow of impact of course. But there’s an unseen danger most users ignore. What if…Just what if it slipped from your gadget loving hand? The tire tread pattern will prevent iPhone hand slippage and at the same time send others a message. Presumably, “Don’t tread on me.”

Hands On: BlackBerry Storm launching Friday

Posted in Review by Darrin Olson on November 20th, 2008

BlackBerry Storm hands on reviewAs I am sure you are all aware, Verizon Wireless is launching the much-anticipated BlackBerry Storm tomorrow. This device is RIM’s first delve into a touchscreen mobile phone and swing at taking some of the market share away from Apple and the iPhone. We had a chance to get our hands on the Storm on the eve of the launch day and had some fun playing with the touchscreen and its unique clicking technology.

Obviously the most interesting part of the Storm is the single big button of a screen so we’ll just cut to the chase. The touchscreen in general works as you would expect, sensing your touch on the glass and allowing you to scroll through things like lists, menus and across maps. What’s different about the touchscreen on the BlackBerry Storm which sets it apart from other touchscreen phones is that the glass display is like a single large, mechanical button.

iPhone 3G Incase Power Slider doubles the battery, lets you sync

Posted in iPhone Accessories by Conner Flynn on November 17th, 2008

iPhone 3G Incase Power Slider doubles the battery, lets you syncIncase is at it again. Their latest iPhone offering, The Power Slider, will double your iPhone’s power for up to 5 hours of talk time on the 3G network and 10 hours on 2G. It will increase your audio playback time to 26 hours, and give you video playback time to 7 hours.

Pretty nifty. But that isn’t all. With this device, you can now sync with the iPhone still in the case, which is pretty convenient. Amazingly it doesn’t make your iPhone look too bad, though it does fatten it some. We’ve seen much worse. No word on price yet, but it should be available on November 28.

In Australia nobody wants the white iPhone

Apple iPhone 3G’s with new white boxes being stocked in AT&T store
In Australia at least, nobody seems to want the white iPhone? It looks like all of the late arrivals in Sydney were being told earlier that they might have to take a white 16GB version because they were running out of the black model.

Now, if the same thing happens here I imagine some of you are going to be not too happy about it and you’d rather have no iPhone at all. I wouldn’t want white. White is for Wiis. I’m not sure what the ratio of white to black iPhones being shipped to stores is, but judging by this video we showed you here, it looks to be about 50/50. If that’s the case, we have a problem.

iWood case: How Ewoks protect iPhones

iWood case: How Ewoks protect iPhones
There are tons of ways to protect your iPhone. But hippies and Ewoks are going to want something different. That something is wood. Why not go all natural with your iPhone 3G? Miniot’s form-fitting iWood cases are all natural hardwoods like oak, cherry, mahogany, walnut and something called padouk.

One downside to adding natural beauty to your iPhone is the price tag. At $125 each, they’ll cost almost as much as the iPhone 3G itself. If the price is a bit steep for ya, you can always try your hand at whittling your own, but I shudder to think what the end product will look like.
