Acer Iconia Tab A501 for AT&T hits the FCC

Posted in Acer by Conner Flynn on June 13th, 2011

You might remember that in March, AT&T announced plans to offer Acer’s Iconia Tab A501, which is a 3G version of Acer’s A500 Android 3.0 Honeycomb tablet. Well, now the A501 passed through the FCC, with support for AT&T’s GSM 850 and 1900 bands, as well as WCDMA II and V bands. FCC test reports also show support for HSUPA and HSDPA protocols, but there is no mention of HSPA+.

AT&T will release the A501 in the second quarter of 2011, so we should see the device very soon even though we have no info on pricing.

If the features on the side of the box are accurate, this device will be headed for AT&T’s 850MHz 3G band. Some of those specs include Android 1.6, 5-inch …
