Tron lightcycle case mod is awesome

Feast your eyes on this Tron case mod. It looks like it could just zip away from your desktop, leaving only a trail of light behind it. Bods Mods has just completed this 40-inch long lightcycle PC and unleashed it on the world. Or the grid. Whatever.

It features an ATX motherboard, liquid cooling, and blue light aplenty. It was created using SketchUp, Google’s 3D modeling app. After that it was a lot of foam shaping and Dremel work. The detail is simply stunning. Bods Mods has entered this case in Cooler Master’s 2011 Case Mod Competition.

Lenovo IdeaCentre B520 All-In-One Desktop PC Available Soon

Lenovo now has the new IdeaCentre B520 all-in-one desktop PC listed on their product page as ‘Coming Soon’. Hopefully they really mean it as in very soon. This All-In-One features a 23-inch 1920 x 1080 Full HD frameless display with optional 3D Vision support.

Other features include a 2nd generation Intel Core i3/i5/i7 processor, Intel HD 3000 integrated or NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M discrete graphics, up to 16GB DDR3 RAM, up to a 2TB hard drive, a 32GB SSD, a High-Sense webcam, DVD/Blu-ray drive, a 7-in-1 card reader, integrated TV tuner, WiFi, Bluetooth, two USB 3.0 ports, an HDMI port and it comes pre-loaded with Windows 7 Home Premium OS.

Sharp’s new AQUOS PHONE IS11SH 3D capable phone for Japanese females

Sharp’s new AQUOS PHONE IS11SH is a female friendly phone capable of 3D graphics. The phone runs on Android 2.3 OS and has a 3.7-inch 960 x 540 pixel display, an 8.5 megapixel CMOS camera, mobile wallet service, mobile TV, and infrared data transmission.

The image tells the whole story. This one is targeted at young Japanese women. There is also a slide-out keypad, making typing those texts a lot easier. As a male, I just want to take this oppotunity to say “Ewww”.

Samsung ships compact BD-D7000 3D Blu-ray player

Good news for those of you in Korea. That’s where Samsung has begun shipping the compact BD-D7000 Blu-ray player with 3D playback. Its design delivers a full Blu-ray player in a package that is about half the size of typical players and weighs just portable 2.4lbs.

The player was first seen at CES and also does apps and and has other smart features thanks to built-in Wi-Fi. Samsung’s Hyper Real Engine helps process the video, which minimizes noise without sacrificing the sharpness of the image. Other features include Dolby 7.1 surround sound support and it will upconvert 2D content to 3D.

Toshiba 3D Optional Qosmio X770 gaming laptop

Toshiba has announced the new X770 Qosmio gaming laptop. This one has a more metallic enclosure compared to it’s predecessor and shrinks the display from 18.4 inches to 17.3 inches (1920 x 1080), which is obviously easier to carry around.

The standard configuration gives you a Core i7-2630QM processor, 8GB of RAM, 1.25TB of storage from a pair of hard drives, and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560M graphics. You can also get a separate X770 3D model, which sports a 3D webcam and gives you a pair of active shutter glasses. Both will be available in the next few weeks, starting at €1,300 ($1,850).

HTC EVO 3D pre-orders start today at RadioShack

Well, it’s May 17th and that could mean only one thing. RadioShack is now taking pre-orders for HTC’s mighty EVO 3D. It won’t be advertised, so you’ll just have to ask for it specifically and you’ll also have to shell out $50 for a RadioShack Gift Card.

The launch date for the Sprint-bound smartphone remains unknown, but at least you can claim yours and get in line so to speak. So, who wants one?

Bang & Olufsen’s 85-inch 3DTV hits North America with a hefty price tag

If you are looking for a luxury 3D HDTV that costs about $1,000 per inch, here it is. Bang & Olufsen’s BeoVision 4-85 plasma will be available to North American buyers next month for $85,000. So now you can brag to your other rich friends that yours costs more.

That price includes the triangular BeoLab 10 center channel speaker and a motorized stand that lowers it when you’re not watching. If you have any money left you can get some popcorn and watch some movies on it.

3DS eShop confirmed for June 6/7

Well 3DS fans, June 7th is your lucky day. That’s when Nintendo will release the update you’ve been waiting for, which will give you the ability to download titles directly to the system through the eShop.

The Japanese update will be launching a day earlier (Of course) and is said to include a Virtual Console emulation as well as a 3D movie player, so maybe we will even get that promised Netflix support. Keep your fingers crossed. You won’t have long to wait now.

Sharp Aquos SH-12C Android 3D Smartphone

Sharp is not new to 3D, the Japanese manufacturer already has the Sharp Lynx 3D after all. Now the company has introduced the Sharp Aquos SH-12C Android-powered smartphone with 3D capture capability.

The Aquos features a 1.4GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 processor, a 4.2-inch qHD (540 x 960) glasses-free 3D screen, eight-megapixel camera for 2D and 3D video and picture capturing, 512MB of RAM, 2GB ROM, WiFi, HSDPA 14Mpbs, Bluetooth and GPS.

LG Optimus 3D to have 3D augmented reality browser

If you love 3D, then LG has some good news for you today. The company has revealed that it will use Wikitude’s 3D browser in its LG Optimus 3D smartphone. The browser allows better interaction and engagement with real-time user environments. 3D Augmented Reality can show places, landmarks and objects in 3D, making them easier to distinguish and of course, much cooler to look at. The Optimus 3D, is set to arrive in Europe this summer.

It should be a hit since the Wikitude World Browser is the first AR smartphone browser ever and the LG Optimus 3D also incorporates several other world firsts. Like the world’s first dual-core, dual-channel, dual-memory architecture and they also claim that the phone is the first full 3D platform providing glasses-free viewing, recording and sharing of 3D content.

LG FX166 Micro Hi-Fi / 3D Blu-ray Combo Ready For The Japanese Market

Good news for those of you in Japan, if you want, you can now purchase the LG FX166. The company will be releasing this micro Hi-Fi and 3D Blu-ray combo later this week.

The FX166 comes equipped with not only a DVD/Blu-Ray video player with 3D support, but also DLNA support, an FM radio and the always appreciated alarm clock. This music player is also compatible with your iPod touch and iPhone.

Samsung unveils 75-inch D9500 3D LCD HDTV

Samsung has now gone one better than LG’s 72-inch LZ9700, which was previously the world’s largest LED-backlit 3D LCD HDTV, but it is now beaten by the Samsung 75-inch D9500. Aside from being huge, the TV also has some nice features too, like a QWERTY integrated remote so you can use this 240Hz display for browsing the internet.

Samsung is using active shutter 3D technology with this one too, with a price of ₩19,000,000 ($17,600). Nice if you can afford it.

Hyperkin 3DS Powerplus extends your 3DS battery

The Nintendo 3DS has a very limited battery life, but with Hyperkin’s new 3DS Powerplus, you can extend that life. The 2.2-ounce accessory slips on to the back of your console, allowing access to the cartridge port, SD card and game controls, while adding an extra 1800mAh to the device’s standard 1300mAh battery. It will be available this summer.

The Powerplus also has an enhanced grip and an LED indicator that can tell you how much battery life you have left. The $19.99 device will more than double your 3DS’ battery life, according to the company.

German manufacturer Loewe is getting into the 3D television market, with its first 3D screen. It features great industrial design and is handcrafted and sculpted. The Full-HD LCD 3D television screen has LED backlighting and a 400Hz picture quality.

This set also offers a 500GB DR+ hard drive, so you can record and replay all of your 3D content easily. The screens are also available in just about any color finish you like.

LG BD670 Blu-ray Player With Wi-Fi

LG Electronics has announced the BD670 Blu-ray 3D player. It features Smart TV Access and Integrated Wi-Fi connectivity, which means that you can get thousands of movies, apps, shows and online videos straight to your TV from your wireless Internet connection.

You can also download a special app for your iPod touch, iPhone or Android-based smartphone that turns your handset into a remote control for the BD670. The LG BD670 Blu-ray player also uses 1080p up-scaling of standard DVDs for near high-definition viewing.
