MSI intros 24-Inch 3D All-In-One PC

MSI has a world’s first on it’s hands with the 3D AIO, which is ready to unveiled at next week’s CeBIT 2010 show in Germany. It’s the world’s first large screen all-in-one PC that can handle 1080p 3D video.

The 3D AIO features a 24-inch 120Hz LED display, 1080p resolution, and will come with 3D shutter glasses. That’s about all the details we have currently and we would like to know which processor it has. Expect this to be the first of many 3D all-in-one announcements this year.

Panasonic’s 25.5 inch 3D HD LCD for $9,900

3D is coming whether you like it or not. Whether it’s a flash in the pan or here to stay, you will still want to get some new gear. Panasonic’s new 3D screen may not be the one. It does sport a 25.5 inch LCD screen and comes with HD support.

Panasonic says that the 3D HD screen is for “reviewing 3D footage at a work station or in the field”. It also features dual HD-SDI so you can connect with other 3D hardware and DVI interfaces. And it comes with a pair of polarizing 3D eyeglasses. But this may not be the one for you due to its $9,900 price tag.

Panasonic Japan, just like everyone else, is going 3D crazy. Today they presented 6 3D products to be rolled out soon. And the company has priced and dated these new TVs, Blu-ray recorders and players for the Japanese market.

The VIERA TH-P54VT and TH-P50VT2 feature 54 inches and 50 inches of screen size. Both plasma TVs are full HD with 3D. Sadly you need to wear Active shutter glasses for that 3D experience. Some other specs include a contrast ratio of 5,000,000:1, VIERA link, web connectivity, 4 HDMI ports, multiple TV tuners, eco-mode, full range 16×4cm×2 speakers and a 10cm sub-woofer. Be prepared to pay a premium for the 3D experience.

Samsung first to mass produce 3D TV panels

I am more excited about the prospect of 3D TV in my living room than I was at the thought of HDTV a few years ago. This year we will see lots of new 3D TVs and 3D content hit the market for home users.

Samsung has announced that it will be the first major panel maker to start mass producing 3D panels in LED and LCD styles. The screens will require active glasses and boast 240Hz refresh rates. The refresh rate will allow for 120Hz to each eye.

Our excitement over the eee Keyboard has grown stale after waiting so long for it, but the Cross PC U510 might be a good alternative. The Cross PC U510 packs in a 1.6GHZ Nvidia Ion, 2GB RAM, 250GB SATA hard drive, with a 5-inch TFT touchscreen embedded on the surface.

Some other features include Wi-Fi, handwriting recognition, and 3D graphics. It has to rely on external power though, having no battery. It can be connected to a normal display, HD TV, and projectors , but no support for dual displays.

DisplayPort 1.2 gets official with multi-streaming, USB

The VESA group has released the latest DisplayPort version 1.2 which delivers 21.6Gbps of data rate, making it ideal for handling 3D, color depths higher than 24-bit and faster frame rates. It can also handle multi-streaming. A single cable is capable of outputing two 2560×1600 displays at full frame rate, four 1920×1200 screens, or a single screen with a resolution of 3,840 x 2,400 pixels.

The data channel that was introduced with DisplayPort now hits 720Mbps with DisplayPort 1.2, enabling it to run at full speed via the display cable and gives it Dolby or DTS audio as well as headroom for webcams, 100Mbps Ethernet and other technology that would normally require a separate cable.

We have some more details on the color ASUS DR-570 e-book reader that showed up over the weekend. In addition to WiFi, 3G, and 122-hour real world battery life, you can also expect lightning quick 0.03 second page turns. In case you’re wondering that’s about 23 times faster than the Kindle and its competition.

It also sports 4GB of onboard storage with SDHC expansion, 512MB of SDRAM, and a 1,530mAh battery. That’s not all, it also has a built-in RSS reader, audio/video/Flash player, text to speech engine, and a built-in web browser. The device will hit before the end of the year. Apparently there is also online video streaming support via Amazon video on demand, 3D gaming and navigation, “One stop shopping for books, video, music,” and support for ePub, PDF, txt, MP3, MP4, and AVI content formats.

Super slim Samsung 9000 with sexy remote

The Samsung 9000 LED LCD will provide support for 3D and will come with a sexy touch-based remote that looks like a tall iPhone with a Samsung logo. The remote has a touch interface and actually shows video from various sources. It can convert anything 2D into 3D.

Along with the 9000, Samsung also showed off some other flatscreens like the 8000, which features edge lit technology, 2D to 3D conversion, and the 7000 that Features Samsung’s ‘Touch of Color’, and a 4-legged stand, as well as the 6500 with DLNA streaming, but no 3D. Lastly the 5000 with low power usage, USB playback, and DLNA.

LG CF3D, the worlds first full HD 3D projector

Recently Light Blue Optics unveiled a Holographic laser equipped Light Touch projector for interactive touchscreens images. Today LG has announced the CF3D, the world’s first full HD, 3D Single Lens Type Projector.

It features a stunning brightness capability of 2,500 ANSI-lumens and a high contrast ratio of 7,000:1. The LG CF3D also sports TruMotion 120Hz for smoother image projection. The images projected out of the CF3D are said to have improved color quality and a more life-like appearance.

Toshiba unveils NB305 netbook

The big tech news at CES this year may be 3D TV and other gear, but netbooks and notebook are big again this year like every other year. Toshiba has announced a new netbook called the NB305 that promises up to 11 hours of battery life.

The machine runs Windows 7 Starter and features a 10.1-inch screen. The processor is the Intel Atom N450 Pine Trail so popular for netbooks today. Other features include 1GB of RAM and a 250GB HDD.

MSI readies dual screen, Nvidia-powered eReader and 3D laptop

Word on the street is that MSI’s eReader that it plans to unveil at this year’s CES will have Nvidia Tegra graphics and also dual screens. There may also be a 3D laptop in the works.

The Asus dual screen eReader is pictured above. It isn’t a new concept. But does a device like this have a chance, with all of the other tablets? We have no idea, but are inclined to say no. And there is zero info on the 3D laptop. Hopefully we will find out at CES.

Melty Chocolate Phone not from LGIf you like your phones looking all chocolaty and sweet, you might want to check out these melty chocolate phones from Japanese designer Q-Pot. Not to be confused with LG’s Chocolate phones. Teaming up with Sharp, Q-Pot offers two tasty colors, uh flavors. Melty Bitter and Melty Strawberry.

Both feature a 3D chocolate case, chocolate themed menus and wallpapers, and chocolate type packaging. Some other features include an 8MP camera that says “give me a sweet smile”, a 3 inch screen, and a Japanese system TV tuner.

Asus EeePC T91MT netbook turns up on video

asus_eee_pc_t91The Asus Eee T91MT turned up a while back and its best feature is certainly the multi touch capability it offers. The machine is a netbook that uses a convertible tablet form factor and has a capacitive touch screen.

The netbook has an 8.9-inch screen and runs an Intel Atom Z520 CPU. It also has 1GB of RAM and stores data to a 32GB SSD. The machine runs Windows 7 Home Premium and is available for pre-order at a price of $549.

Acer goes official with Aspire 5738-6165 3D notebook

acer3dnotebook-sgWe spied the Acer Aspire 5738DG online a few days back and today the notebook has gone official. The special thing about the new machine is that it is the first notebook from Acer to support 3D content. The machine turns normal 2D content into 3D.

The special notebook has a TriDef 3D screen measuring 15.6-inch wide. The resolution is 1366 x 768 and the panel has 220nit brightness. Graphics for the machine are via ATI HD 4570 with 512MB of VRAM. Acer uses Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit for the OS.
