LG to unveil Honeycomb tablet at CES 2011 |
According to the Korea Times, LG is looking to unveil some cool stuff at next year’s Consumer Electronics Show. That’s not unusual in itself, but we’re talking about their dual-core Android phone, the Optimus 2X, mobile 3D TVs, and drumroll please…their very first Android tablet.
The Optimus Pad will feature an 8.9″ touchscreen display and run on Android 3.0 aka Honeycomb. This tablet will fit squarely between the iPad’s 10″ display and the Galaxy Tab’s 7″ display.

If you have been waiting to get your hands on a 3D notebook that can shoot that 3D video out to your TV, Toshiba has a new offering coming next month that will fit the bill. The notebook is called the Satellite A665 3D Edition and it uses NVIDIA 3D Vision technology.
LG has announced a new notebook computer that has 1080p resolution and support 3D content called the A510. The new notebook is a 15.6-inch machine and its 3D screen uses passive glasses and is LED backlit. Power for the notebook comes from a range of processor options.
When it comes to home theaters you can have the average mans set up with a nice big screen TV and surround sound. Then you can have the high-end rich home theater gurus set up with sound like the theater and a projector that can blind astronauts on the ISS as it passes over your house.
I will say right up front that I never really saw the point of smartbooks. They are the same basic size as a netbook, though they are a pound or so lighter. The big downside in my mind has always been the performance of a smartbook.
