Mario Kart R/C racing set

Posted in R/C Toys by Conner Flynn on November 24th, 2008

Mario Kart R/C racing setThe Mario Kart Pullback toys were cool, so was the giant r/c Mario Kart racer, but this set of Mini Mario Kart rc cars from Brando gets it right. Each car is rechargeable and about the size of the iPod shuffle. Each comes with a 6-direction IR controller and shell and banana accessories. That’s what I’m talking about. You need accessories to really play Mario Kart outside of the Wii. They are available in Mario, Luigi, Koopa and Yoshi. Available for $24 each. Finally you can have real life Mario races.

Flatscreen TV hides under the bed, transforms like an autobot

Posted in Television by Conner Flynn on October 28th, 2008

Some clever person has rigged a huge flat screen TV under his bed, using a sliding and rotating mechanism that allows it slide under the bed when not in use and also pop out at the foot of your bed when you want to watch TV. Either that, or we have an authentic transformer on our hands. It’s got to be the coolest way ever to watch TV in bed. It’s so awesome that I dare say most wives can even be talked into incorporating this into the bed frame. Until you start ignoring her for your shows anyway.

Posted in iPhone by Conner Flynn on October 19th, 2008

Seems like every time you turn around, the iPhone gets even more versatile. Is there anything it can’t do? Check this out. This iPhone Jack-O-Lantern is created with an application known as Crazy Pumpkin. It basically lets you customize your iPhone’s display into cool Pumpkin faces. Sadly, you won’t want to set it outside for some kid in a robot costume to steal. Sure, they aren’t as awesome as these pumpkins, but pretty cool.

Lenovo launches beastly ThinkPad W700 notebook

Posted in Lenovo by Shane McGlaun on August 12th, 2008

Lenovo ThinkPad W700Until recently Lenovo was an exclusively business oriented notebook maker. Lenovo has sold consumer oriented notebooks and desktop computers in its native China for a long time. Recently, Lenovo has moved into the consumer market in the United States and other countries as well, but it is still better known for its ThinkPad line of business-oriented notebooks.

Today, Lenovo announced its newest ThinkPad notebook computer aimed at the mobile workstation market called the ThinkPad W700. The new ThinkPad features a 17-inch widescreen LCD and brings the industry’s first built-in digitizer and color calibrator to the mobile workstation market. The notebook also uses other new technology including the upcoming Intel mobile quad-core processors and optional dual hard drives with RAID Configurations.

Ants now invading scanners, laptops may be next

Posted in News by Conner Flynn on August 3rd, 2008

Many of us go to extreme measures in order to keep pests out of our homes. Normally they’ll head straight for any crumbs that you’ve left on your floor or just blindly enter your dwelling as if for no apparent reason. They are easy enough to take care of. Start stomping or call in the verminators. But what do you do when insects start invading your tech?

One couple started noticing ants on their computer desk. They couldn’t quite figure out where they were coming from. There didn’t seem to be a problem anywhere else nearby. As you can see in the video, the work area is very clean. So the wife discovers that the printer isn’t working. The guy checks it out and finds that a small invading ant army had taken up residence in the scanner area. Pretty weird and makes you wonder where else they are that you don’t know about.

Robot rides a bike, may deliver papers & break windows

Posted in Robots by Conner Flynn on July 28th, 2008

Let me say this right off. If there’s one thing we don’t need, it’s bicycle riding robots. It just makes us easier to catch come Robo-Judgement day. That being said, this robot is amazing to watch in action. The Murata Boy was developed in Japan and can ride a bicycle like you and me. Well, actually a whole lot better.

He’s got Gyro Sensors so he can detect position and balance itself accordingly. He can even identify if a surface is uneven, with obstacles or is as smooth as a human’s bottom. It transmits images back to a computer for future reference and analysis. Apparently, this creation is the product of trying to develop a robot that can lift heavy loads and assist in perilous terrain sites. I fully expect to see these chasing people through fiery streets. If not I’ll be disappointed.

Radio City Valve Radio

Radio City Valve Radio
The problem with the Radio City Valve Radio, aside from the fact that it doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue, is that they just kinda slapped a bunch of stuff together and then went so far as to have a plaque on the front that says “Radio City”. Yeah, we’re going to Radio city. Not.

I’m pretty sure the glass or plastic tubes do nothing except emit that faint light you see. And am I seeing this right? It looks like they just went crazy and threw a heatsink behind them for pure kicks. Only our friends in China could show such a lack of style. I mean, the whole deal just looks unfinished and very toy-like.

Stand Pouch replaces the tripod

Stand Pouch replaces the tripod
Here’s a nifty little device that should come in very handy. Normally, when you can place your camera on a flat surface to take that perfect shot, you can’t angle the camera easily. That’s where the Stand Pouch comes in handy.

It’s basically a camera case with a tripod connector built in. The connector can be adjusted just like a tripod. You carry your camera in it, then just put your camera on it. Simple right? Well then why didn’t you think of it? Or me for that matter.

Dell Inspiron 1525 Sea SkyWhen it comes to notebooks many users want a notebook that does more than simply work well. They want a notebook that works well and looks good doing it. The same features and options for Inspiron 1525 hide underneath the new art on the top of the notebook case. Mike Ming made two designs exclusively for Dell. Panasonic to build tiny plasma screen into cell phone

Posted in Panasonic by Shane McGlaun on April 3rd, 2008

Panasonic Cell Phone with Plasma DisplayWhen you say plasma display most of us immediately think of a big flat panel TV. In the home theater realm plasma is losing ground to LCD displays as LCDs improve in contrast and brightness. For years now LCD has been the dominate player in the cell phone industry for displays.

Panasonic and AbleComm announced today that Panasonic would be building a cell phone that uses a small plasma display to operate on the newly announced AT&T Mobile TV service. The small screen will require only 1.5 volts to operate and will require no special wiring or power supplies.

Robot babysitters eye our young

Robot babysitters eye our young
Japanese retailer Aeon Co. said on Tuesday that it has introduced a four-foot-seven tall, yellow-and-white robot at a store in the southern city of Fukuoka. The robot will be in charge of entertaining the children. Parents are encouraged to leave their children with the kid-sized machine, and the kids wear special badges that bear codes which the robot can read. (In other words, our young have now been tagged. They can now be tracked by our shiny metal overlords. Oh joy!)

The robot can identify the children’s names and ages and chat with them.(The indoctrination begins. CONFORM, tiny larvae human.) The robot also has a projector in one of its eyes to beam advertising messages(directly into child retinas) — or to show pictures that it has captured with a camera installed in the other eye.(Pictures of dead humans and the carnage to come. It encourages the whole CONFORM thing.)

Porta Jump will jump start your car

Porta Jump will jump start your car
Let’s say you drive around in an old heap and your battery dies. You need a jump, but you don’t have jumper cables and no one wants to help. With the Porta Jump, you won’t need any help at all. It doesn’t require jumper cables or helpful strangers.

Just plug it in your cigarette lighter and wait for the green light to turn on. It’s that easy. Done. You are back in the business of driving around in a heap. As an added bonus, it will recharge while you are driving. This is a good $20 spent. Ideal for damsels in distress as it’s much safer then asking a stranger for help and possibly running into a nutjob.

Tenga masturbation machine is easy to clean

Tenga masturbation machine is easy to clean
At first glance you might just think this is a new concept phone. It’s actually a machine designed so that you can get your wank on, and it opens up so you can clean it easily. Ain’t that a pretty picture. It’s made of silicon, and it’s got vacuum and pump buttons on it for you to adjust the sidewalls, so you can pretend you are with a really hot girl.

Apparently it’s good for fifty uh…uses. It will cost you $99, but hey, they also throw in three containers of lube. This gadget will help you do what you already do anyway, just high tech. I can sense that some of you are excited. I can almost hear you thinking, “This is like using someone else’s hand entirely”. That’s right. No need to make your hand fall asleep before the deed any longer my friends. And for others out there…This beats the hell out of using a cardboard TP tube.
