Xbox 360 Transformers All Spark mod

Posted in Xbox 360 by Conner Flynn on January 20th, 2010

If you want to get the attention of some giant ass robots, then do what this guy did. Turn your XBox 360 into the All Spark. Just don’t be surprised when Optimus Prime shows up at your door and reaches through your house to get it.

Oh and the All Spark is supposed to turn all of your other stuff into robots, so this probably isn’t a good idea. Unless you like your XBox suddenly walking around and shooting at you. It’s a pretty sweet mod though. I just hope this guy is still in one piece.

ESPN streaming coming to Xbox 360?

Posted in Xbox 360 Elite by Conner Flynn on January 19th, 2010

Cable and satellite TV are dying a slow Zombie death. The limbs are continually cut off, but the head has so far managed to avoid a kill shot. We wonder how much longer they can survive. The New York Times is reporting that some dealings are going down between Microsoft and Disney. The focus of these dealings is ESPN streaming on the Xbox 360.

Apparently live streams of sporting events could come to the console with the viewer paying a subscriber fee. There would also be related interactive games. None of this is confirmed, so don’t take it as fact just yet. Though we do love the idea.

Reggie Fils-Aime says Wii users don’t care for Netflix HD

Posted in Wii by Conner Flynn on January 15th, 2010

We often find ourselves wondering just what Nintendo is thinking with things like a lack of Wii colors, a lack of HD on the Wii itself, a lack of good games… What’s the deal Nintendo? Now Reggie Fils-Aime of Nintendo of America fame now claims that his customers do not want a feature that has become a standard.

The Xbox 360 and PS3 can stream full HD movies from Netflix at no extra cost and Reggie has stated his belief that “there really is no loss for the Wii consumer” because “the vast majority” of Netflix streaming content isn’t HD anyway. Reggie has also claimed that the 26 million Wii console owners out there have voted with their wallets and will be quite happy to continue with standard def. Say what?

ThermaHelm helmet cools the brain, could save lives

Posted in Automotive by Conner Flynn on January 14th, 2010

Here’s one we hope performs as well as they say. The ThermaHelm helmet could be a life saver for many. It boasts a few lightweight chemical packs built into the helmets lining. One of the packs has water and the other one nitrate. Together, in a sudden reaction, they cause a cooling reaction that can last up to 45 minutes.

That is important because it helps improve the chances of the rider’s survival after a crash, as it stabilizes the temperature of the brain. The ThermaHelm is expected to arrive in July of this year with GPS, a video camera and Bluetooth. We hope this one saves many lives.

Posted in Apparel by Conner Flynn on January 14th, 2010

We love Space Invaders and if we could we would have our human women wear tights with the alien invaders on them. Well, now we can. These would make a great Valentine’s Day gift for that geek girlfriend.

They’re designed and distributed from Australia by Black Milk Clothing and they not only have the classic aliens from the game, they also show off your figure. $80 seems a bit steep, but putting a classic arcade game on your cameltoe? Priceless.

WiiThink brain scanner makes no sense

Posted in Wii by Conner Flynn on January 14th, 2010

The Wii has more peripherals than you can shake a wiimote at. Well, here’s another concept for the Wii. The WiiThink. Not well thought out. In fact it makes no sense.

The WiiThink is supposed to be an EEG sensor that monitors brain waves. The idea is to get the elderly to think really hard and concentrate so their brains exercise and they hopefully won’t get Alzheimer’s. Sounds like a fun little scam. But there is no evidence that concentrating prevents Alzheimer’s.

New iPhone to feature touch sensitive casing?

Posted in iPhone by Conner Flynn on January 14th, 2010

The rumors surrounding Apple’s new iPhone just won’t stop. The latest rumor suggests that Apple might have something in the works regarding the iPhone’s casing. It might be a touch-sensitive case, similar to the case that the Apple Magic Mouse has.

If true, this could change the device big time. It won’t be so great for those third-party iPhone protector casings, which would block the touch function.
