Posted in iPad accessories by Conner Flynn on March 8th, 2011

The iPad 2 is arriving this week, but if you are happy with your original iPad, you still want cool accessories for it. So Bracketron has a new case called the Twist360 that has a handle on the back which is articulated. It’s called the TwistGrip. The handle can be gripped when you are holding the iPad with one hand, making it safer so that you won’t drop it.

The handle will also spin in a complete circle and can be titled to act as a stand. It will prop the tablet in landscape or portrait mode. And as a bonus, the TwistGrip will also allow you to hang the iPad on the wall. The Twist360 will ship soon for $59.95. Who wants to hang their iPad on a wall with this?

Xbox 360 Toaster

Posted in DIY by Conner Flynn on January 2nd, 2011

I’ve always wanted to rip the guts out of a four-slice toaster and replace them with an Xbox 360. Luckily for me, now I don’t have to do it as someone else has done it for me. You may not be able to enjoy breakfast anymore with this mod, but you’ll be able to play CoD: Black Ops in the kitchen.

It is the work of modder ncaruso11, aka (akatheguy2) and it is dubbed the XToaster360. Best kitchen appliance ever. COD is way better than toast anyway.

Custom Halo Xbox 360 shows Master Chief kicking butt

Posted in Xbox 360 by Conner Flynn on April 21st, 2010

It’s pretty obvious that this isn’t your typical store-bought Xbox 360. But it is special. It’s the millionth Xbox 360 to be sold in Australia and New Zealand. And that’s why the special effects guys at WETA got to have their way with it.

The end result is awesome, showing Master Chief blowing a hole right through the console. The man clearly came to kick ass and chew bubble gum, only to find himself out of bubble gum.

Xbox Elegant Edition CasemodGaming consoles aren’t always the most beautiful things to look at. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Here’s proof. This XBEE (XB Elegant Edition) mod ups the consoles exterior look and makes the Xbox 360 stand out from the crowd.

Upon seeing this beauty the usual cries of photoshop went up, but it’s actually real. It was designed by Sweden’s Industri Repro. Each case can have up to three 120mm fans to keep things cool and hey look, that’s no rrod. Why it’s green and full of life.

The aluminum case has UV green acrylic sheets, lit up with 4 cathode lights, and then placed on pedestal, where it rotates a full 360°.

The PC also features an x64 SSD by Corsair, 4GB RAM, and a 90-watt pico power supply, along with Windows Vista Premium, and an LG GH22 DVD Writer drive.

Red Xbox 360 case mod looks hot

Posted in DIY by Conner Flynn on August 21st, 2009

Red Xbox 360 case mod looks hotThis suped-up red Xbox 360 looks like a hot rod. There isn’t much info about it, but the bright red case and the two canisters on the side make the console look like it is about to take off. Looks like it has some cooling pipes too, that might separate during takeoff.

The fire engine red color just adds to the cool factor and I almost want to see flames painted on it. Or a fire hose attached. One thing is for sure, it is pretty.

Xbox 360 Lara Croft case

Xbox 360 Lara Croft caseI know, you can never have too much Lara Croft right? And since I haven’t heard of a new Tomb Raider game on the horizon, I’m sure you Lara Croft fans would love to get your hands on this Lara Croft themed Xbox 360 case.

This mod sports 43,000 colorful crystals and is sadly only available in Germany. You’ll need to raid your bank to come up with the $11,000 necessary to get your hands on this one. Yeah, I hear ya. Maybe if it showed more of her body it would be worth it, right? Seriously, stop wearing out your DVD version by pausing it on the action scenes, hoping to get a glimpse of Angelina Jolie’s nipples. You can’t afford this.

Xbox 360 Hellboy case mod

Xbox 360 Hellboy case modThis Hellboy Xbox 360 case mod is awesome. And very very red. It was made by Frank Gonzales, who has previously created a Gears of War and other case mods. He really outdid himself with this one. It looks as if it has just clawed it’s way free from hell and is ready for some serious gaming.

My first reaction upon seeing this was to wonder where the horns were, but it is absolutely perfect as it is.

PS2 casemod inside of a book about video game violence

Posted in DIY by Conner Flynn on June 14th, 2009

PS2 casemod inside of a book about video game violencePolitical statement or just a literary mod? You decide. Most gamers are well aware former attorney Jack Thompson’s stance on gaming. It’s nice to see that his book embraces gaming at long last, with a little help from Mattigus, a user on the Halflife2.Net forums who is simply brilliant.

Don’t worry. He bought the book used on eBay, so no 13-cent royalty for Mr. Thompson. It was also a library book, which not surprisingly, was never even checked out. It is an actual functioning mod.

Gears of War Xbox case mod

Posted in Xbox 360 by Conner Flynn on June 8th, 2009

Gears of War Xbox case modGears of War fans are sure to love this Xbox case mod. Maybe. It’s the work of one Tallerkamino, who designed and modded the Xbox case in honor of the game. How he did it is not clear.(Looks like he used mousepads and attached them to the console).

Then he obviously glued action figures onto the base. It’s a cool mod I guess, but I prefer the console to be entirely covered. It’s more of a diorama. But if you love Gears of War, I’m sure it will make you smile and brighten you day.

The Shoebox Fightstick: Al Bundy's mod of choiceThings are getting really really bad in these economically tough times. The modders seem to be hit the hardest. Need evidence? How about the Tupperware arcade stick? Need more? Check out these Shoebox Fightsticks.

They were created using Xbox 360 controllers, Happ joysticks and 14 buttons…in a pair of shoeboxes for cases. On the up side, Al Bundy has moved from women’s to men’s shoes. Sadly business is slow and this is the result. It beats spending time with the wife.
