Samsung drops Black Friday deals on HDTVs

samsung50plasma-sbBlack Friday is coming this week and that means that you can find some of the best prices of the year on electronics after Thanksgiving. Samsung has announced its special Black Friday deals on five different HDTV models.

The special prices will make it easier for Santa to put that new HDTV under the tree this year. The 46-inch LCD LN46B500 HDTV has a resolution of 1080p and a 40,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. The set will sell for $849.99. A smaller 40-inch LN40B500 will sell for $599.99 with the same specs.

Walmart selling $200 Xbox 360 this weekend with free $100 Gift CardRumors have been swirling for the past couple of days, and it looks like the rumors were real. This weekend, Walmart is kicking off their pre-Black Friday deals, including a $199 Xbox 360 Arcade that comes with a free $100 gift card. That basically drops the price to $100.

VIZIO unveils new HDTVs for Wal-Mart crowd

VIZIO, in addition to the new XVT series flat panels it unveiled, also rolled out a few new more budget focused plasmas. These are the VP422 and VP322, priced at around $800 and $600, respectively.

The VIZIO 42-inch VP422 and 32-inch VP322 are highlighted by VIZIO as offering 30,000:1 contrast ratio, longer life and increased brightness. Both models offer 720p native resolution with “enhanced picture controls, multiple color temperature settings and independent Red/Green/Blue adjustment” to make video performance reportedly improved.

VIZIO dresses up new flat panel HDTVs

We haven’t heard from cheap flat panel CE company VIZIO much since CES earlier this year. The company is back though in the news today with some new HDTVs, priced at between around $1,500 and $1,900.

The new models in the company’s XVT series are the SV420XVT, SV47XVT and VP505XVT. Key features include Silicon Optix REON HQV processing, 30,000:1 contrast Ratio, 1200 nits brightness and 5.1 virtual surround sound. LG reveals 32-inch plasma television

LG 32PC5RVLG recently introduced to the global stage a smaller plasma television as it tries to target price-focused shoppers. The new 32PC5RV is available in Brazil right now and should hit other markets, including North America, in November.

The LG 32PC5RV sports a 32-inch plasma television designed to compete against 32-inch LCD televisions. It has a 16:9 aspect ratio screen and a 0.001ms response time. HDMI and component ports let one connect the flat panel display to a DVD player or home theater.

LG HDTV with built in hard driveLG has some new HDTV’s coming your way with a nice built in feature. The new XCanvas high def televisions almost negate the need for a DVR by housing a built in hard drive.

We’ve seen LCD and plasma televisions with built in DVD players, but we seem to like this even better. Using an internal 160GB hard drive, high definition television and movies can be recorded and played back at a later date, even in a dual picture mode similar to having two tuners.
