Google is doing just fine in the search business, so no one would blame them if they just left things as they were and kept raking in the dough. But it’s nice to see that the search giant is still paying attention to details and willing to try some new things.

Google’s vice president of search product and user experience recently stated that Google will soon begin testing of a new permanent sidebar on its results page. The new version allows you to narrow a search to specific categories, and is more attractive. Plus, the sidebar will be, conveniently and permanently displayed on the left side of the page.

We’ve seen a Ninja weapon in USB drive form, so why not an Uzi. Of course the drive is in the clip. Where else are you going to load and reload data from?

LG has announced a new home theater system. The LG HB954SP Blu-ray HCS offers Full HD 1080p video and 5.1 surround, with 1,000W of audio tuned by audio-wizard Mr Mark Levinson. It features a slide-out dock in front for your iPod or iPhone, and you can control it from the HB954SP’s own remote.

The system can also upscale standard definition DVDs up to 1080p. The ethernet connection connects it to the internet for streaming YouTube and BD Live content. You’ll also get two HDMI inputs and a USB port. If you haven’t jumped onto the HTIB bandwagon, this might entice you with it’s touch of blue and globular speakers.

Corsair has announced two new modular power supplies that are both 80 Plus Silver certified for energy efficiency. The new models include the HX850W and HX750W and the modular design of the PSUs means that there are no extra cables left inside your PC chassis that you don’t need.

The SightMate LV920 from a company called Eyetonomy is a wearable device that’s designed to correct poor eyesight for those suffering from serious visual impairments.

The system has a 2-megapixel camera with a 3x zoom situated between the eyes, which provides images on twin 640×480 displays that can be tilted up to 15 degrees for comfort. The headgear comes with a remote to control magnification and other features and it only weighs 8 ounces. It can also help those who are color blind.
