The integrated 5 LED, 300 dpi scanner isn’t going to blow you away with quality images, but still, it’s a great idea. No word on pricing or availability right now though.

Logitech’s Google TV box gets official: $300, camera, mobile apps

Posted in Logitech by Conner Flynn on October 6th, 2010

Logitech has confirmed the first Google TV device, the Revue. It will focus on the Android-based platform’s hybrid TV/web searching and TV apps but should also have strong support for Logitech’s other devices. It can act as a Harmony gateway, with new iOS and Android apps. It also supports the same Unifying receiver technology that is found in its mice and keyboards, so it supports existing peripherals as well as the pre-supplied keyboard and optional diNovo mini-based Mini Controller.

A Media Player app on the Revue will get media from computers on the local network through DLNA. And of course it can output up to 1080p over HDMI and has two USB ports for accessories like the new TV Cam webcam for video chats over Logitech’s Vid. The device works with traditional remotes through IR blaster inputs and gets online using Ethernet or 802.11n Wi-Fi.

Gold Bullion Mouse: How bankers point & click

Posted in Mouse by Conner Flynn on April 6th, 2009

Gold Bullion Mouse: How bankers point & clickThe official mouse of the financial crisis. With just one click of this mouse you can get a nifty bailout, assign million dollar raises to your cronies and book a flight to some far away land where you can’t be questioned. It’s like magic, this mouse.

This isn’t just tasteless bling, it’s wireless bling. The gold bullion wireless mouse. The warehouse where these are stored may look like Fort Knox, but if you melt this stuff down all you get is a lump of burnt plastic. Not that anyone at this warehouse has a job anymore. So there’s no one there to see this pile of mice in all their bullion glory. Sad.

Moxia Sphere interfaceThe Moxia sphere is a folding multitouch display with an always-on internet connection and gyroscopic elements that can also be used folded flat. It will be able to display the world, browse web pages or control interactive games. All in a device about the size of an apple.

The device can be recharged by opening one of the petals and can also display an interactive world map like Google Earth. It sounds very promising, but will likely be a while in coming.

Logitech G13 gameboard complements keyboard and mouse

Posted in Logitech by Shane McGlaun on December 10th, 2008

Logitech G13 GamepadThere have been gamepads on the market for a long time now from Saitek and Belkin to name a couple. The idea behind a gamepad is to place fewer keys in an arrangement that makes them easier to reach and removes extra keys not needed when gaming. The reality of a game pad is that you often end up having to use it and the keyboard to play complex games needing many keys.

Logitech has announced its first entry into the gamepad market with the G13. According to Logitech, the gamepad is intended to complement the mouse and keyboard, ideally the Logitech G15 keyboard and G9 mouse. The G13 offers three game modes with 25 programmable keys each and a programmable analog stick.

New Microsoft BlueTrack technology best mouse thing ever?

Posted in Mouse by Nino Marchetti on September 10th, 2008

Microsoft Explorer Mouse

Microsoft said this week its new BlueTrack Technology is the world’s “most advanced tracking technology” for consumers and their comptuer mice. Two new mice – the Explorer Mouse and Explorer Mini Mouse – are the first to debut with BlueTrack, pricing around $100 and $80, respectively.

Microsoft says this of BlueTrack: “The large, blue beam and specular optics architecture, in conjunction with a Microsoft-designed image sensor and proprietary pixel geometry, generates a high-contrast picture of the mousing surface that allows exceptional tracking accuracy. The BlueTrack Technology light beam emanating from the bottom of the mouse is more than four times as large as the average laser beam used in today’s mice, enabling reliable mouse tracking even on difficult surfaces such as carpet.”

USB Ladybug mouse is cute, clickable

Posted in Mouse by Conner Flynn on September 7th, 2008

USB Ladybug mouse is cute, clickableYour mouse says a lot about your personality. If you like portability and great design your mouse of choice is probably the arc, while a Baseball fan would love this dorky mouse. Maybe you love the Olympics, but use these Olympic Mascot mice year round.

What I’m saying is that our mice are as varied as we are. What kind of person would use these Ladybug mice from Brando? I’m thinking girls mostly, maybe strange scientist dudes that collect bugs and put holes in the lid. I have no idea, but they look good out in the grass and for $12 you might as well get all buggy. If it doesn’t work out as a mouse you can always mod it to be a desktop Roomba or something.
