Solar powered handheld Nintendo emulator

Solar powered handheld Nintendo emulator
Here’s a third-party handheld Nintendo emulator that doesn’t look like total garbage. Though it has the typical generic name of Solar MP4, this little device actually has some impressive features. It can play MP4 videos up to 320×240 in size on its 3.5 inch TFT screen, it also has built-in emulators for NES, GameBoy and GameBoy Color games. Of course you have to use ROMS loaded via an SD card, but those are easy enough to find. It can even function as an e-Book reader with the ability to read out loud any text file as long as it’s written in English or Chinese.

And of course, it has a DS-like design with solar panels, so you can play games using the power of the sun. Not bad for a knock off. You can get one for $123.32.

WindTouch V80 PMP

Occasionally you see a PMP that actually stands out from the crowd. This one definitely falls into that category. The WindTouch V80 is a PDA/PMP that runs on Windows CE 6.0. It comes with a 1.3-megapixel camera, 2GB of internal memory and micro SD slot. It supports most file formats like: AVI , ASF, MPG, 3GP, MP4, FLV, MP3, WMA, WAV, ASF, FLAC, BMP, JPEG, GIF, TXT.

This one is a real looker. Sleek and dare I say it, seductive in design. The price tag of $95 is not bad either. They did a great job of making this one stand out from the crowd.

The simplistic Kinwei PMP player

Kinwei KW-P4 075 MP4 playerThis PMP player from Kinwei appears to have a very nice, clean design but how it’s used we’re just not sure. It sports a 2.4-inch TFT display and allows you to view E-books, JPG, GIF and BMP images, MP1, MP2, MP3 and WMA music files and the ever-obscure TV/AWV video formats. It also has a built-in FM tuner, seven preset EQ modes, a rechargeable battery and a capacity of 2GB. The product details list a touch pad for interaction but aside from that the player appears to have no buttons, dials, switches, cool blue lights and not even any branding. We still think it looks pretty cool, however. No price was readily available and it comes in the shown color of black or white.

iRiver Clix2 U20iRiver has a new version of the Clix player available in Korea which will be also coming to the US in the coming months.

The new iRiver U20, which looks like it will end up as the ‘clix2′ similarly to how the iRiver U10 became the ‘clix’ in the US, is slightly faster with more frames per second and is slightly thinner by about a 10th of an inch. The new media player appears very similar to the original version, although it has a much needed increase in capacity. The flash based player has …

SOAP MP4 Player from BrandoBrando has a new 2GB MP4 player that it lists as a “novel and fashionable design”. We would have to agree with the fashionable part, but the rest we’re not so sure.
