Westinghouse recently began shipping some new LCD monitors it has first announced at the Consumer Electronics Show. This new displays include the L2610NW, L2210NW and L1916HW, priced at around $500, $300 and $270 respectively.

There’s nothing too outstanding about these displays when you look at the specs. The L2160NW is a 26-inch model which does typical 1080p duty at 1920 x 1200 resolution. The dynamic contrast is 3000:1 and you also get a HDMI connector. The L2210NW, meanwhile, is a 22-inch display doing 1680 x 1050 resolution.

Cat owners are probably used to waking up in the dead of night to a pair of large cat eyes staring at them evilly. It keeps you on your toes and makes you wonder when he will make his move, so it’s best to sleep with one eye open. For the rest of us, there’s this creepy Led/Lcd cat clock with large eyes and glowing head.

It displays the time in it’s oversized glowing alien eyes from a multi-colored glowing skull, hypnotizing you just before you wake up. Then when you open your eyes, it plants various suggestions in your mind via the annoying beeping sound. It was spotted on ebay for $18. I’m not positive, but I’m pretty sure this is an alien signaling device. Probably prepares you for your eventual abduction.

Soyo. a consumer electronics manufacturer, announced yesterday its first 22-inch LCD TV was heading to retail. It is known as the Soyo SYTPT2238AB and you’ll find it pricing around $480.

Soyo said its new 22-inch television “features a 2 ms response time, a 1,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and a resolution of 1680×1050. It also features a brightness rating of 300 nits and stimulated surround sound and a full array of inputs to accommodate high definition video sources and video game consoles.”

Maybe iRiver should have done something like this with their Mickey Mouse speakers, creating something cute that actually has a bit more of a personality. It’s a cute little mobile phone, perfect for girls of course. It opens up to reveal a 1.3 inch TFT LCD screen.

It has Bluetooth stereo output and the player will play 3GP and MP4 video files. Some other features include a 1.3MP camera, alarm function, MMS, and FM radio. The Mouse Phone may be small and cute, but it’s price might scare some of you off at $225.

At CES back in 2007 there were several demonstrations of 60Hz TVs next to 120Hz TVs. The difference in image quality achieved through going from 60 to 120Hz was very impressive. Samsung wasn’t content to sit on its 120Hz laurels and has announced the first Blue Phase LCD panel.

Whereas 120Hz sets on the current market use overdrive circuits to achieve 120Hz, the Blue Phase panel will not require any overdrive circuits. Samsung also says that the design is extremely cost efficient thanks to not needing liquid crystal alignment layers like today’s LCD panels do.

Acer recently added two new LCD display families for professionals. These are known as the Business Series (B-Series) and Value Series (V-Series) and you’ll find them pricing between around $185 and $400.

These two new Acer display line ups will range in screen size from 17- to 24-inches and make use of “Acer eColor Management, a technology which adapts the performance of the panel to different environments, lighting conditions and viewing preferences.” You get can full details of these new displays via the company press release after the jump.

SeaLife has a new digital camera for those who like to spend their time underwater, the DC800. This 8 megapixel camera is capable of producing extremely sharp images at depths of up to 200 feet. When you get all shriveled up and head for land again, the DC800 can be used in dry conditions as well. Just remove the slim camera from the waterproof housing and you’re ready. There’s virtually no shutter lag with fast shutter time and quick-start.

Some other features are: Sea mode with 3 UW color correction settings, Ext Flash Auto mode for automatic exposure settings, Ext Flash Manual mode for manual aperture and shutter speed exposure controls, Spy Mode automatically shoots continuous pictures at set time intervals, 8 megapixel CCD sensor, 2.7″ LCD display, 20X zoom – 4X optical zoom plus 5X digital, SD/SDHC memory card slot, 22 Land modes, 640 x 480 video recording. The SeaLife DC800 will retail for $549.95 and is compatible with SeaLife’s other accessories.

If the Samsung 2263DX 22-inch LCD is Dr. Evil, the small 7-inch LCD grafted onto it would definitely be Mini Me. The idea is that the main 22-inch screen can be used for normal work and the secondary 7-inch screen can be used to extend your desktop to keep other stuff visible.

I guess you could use the little screen for IM applications, RSS feeds, and TV watching or other things. The 7-inch screen attaches to the main display via an arm that allows it to be mounted to either side of the main display or above it. The small display connects to the main display via a mini USB cable so you don’t need to directly connect the small screen to your computer.

Samsung today put word out through the lands of tech about the availability of its Series 6 and Series 7 LCD HDTVs. These displays range in size from 19- to 52-inches and pricing from around $480 to $3,500.

The Series 6 displays should mostly be available now, with the Series 7 units come out in May. Samsung’s most touted design features with these displays is its “Touch of Color” which draws from “several artistic inspirations” and features “a hint of red color naturally blended into a semi-transparent piano black bezel.” Excuse us while we go wipe the marketing barf off of ourselves – you can read the rest of the Samsung love fest after the jump.

One thing is for sure, this is not your father’s boombox. It’s not a hulking chrome monstrosity with tons of buttons and levers, with a speaker on each side. If you’ve been waiting to buy an iPod sound system with some extravagance, you will likely love Goodmans’ latest.

Aside from the usual pair of speakers, it boasts a 3-in-1 multicard reader, LED accents, iPod dock and a bundled remote. The unit also includes an integrated 7-inch LCD display for showing off stored clips, photos, and the like. No word on exact resolution, so it’s probably not that great. Still, might be worth looking into for $178.

Mitsubishi earlier this week rolled out the carpet on a variety of new HDTVs for release this year. These new models come in a variety of screen sizes and body configurations and should all begin being available this month in staggered releases.

General details of these new models include what Mitsubishi says is thinner frame and brighter DLP models as well as “ultra thin frame” LCD HDTVs with better sound. Nokia announced a new color for its ever popular N82 today. A new sleek black N82 will join the line alongside the Silver N82 that we wrote about in November of 2007. Other than the color change the black N82 is the same feature wise as the silver one.

The N82 sports the ability to operate on the WCDMA 2100 (HSDPA), EGSM900, GSM850/1800/1900 MHz (EGPRS) frequencies. The phone weighs 114g and has up to 100MB of dynamic internal memory for messaging, ring tones, images, video clips and more. A hot-swappable microSD card slot is available for memory expansion.

There are probably a few of you out there still rocking the big CRT monitor from way back in the day or those tiny first generation LCDs. Well, it’s time to upgrade. Samsung has announced a new line of high-end contemporary LCDs with what it describes as industry leading performance. What else are they going to say?

The new line has four displays including the SyncMaster 953BW, 2053BW, 2253LW, and the 2253BW. The displays vary in size, but all share the same features for the most part. The new line has a fast 2ms gray-to-gray response time.

Samsung added five new LCD monitors to their lineup today for the commercial market, ranging in sizes from 17 to 22 inches. The new LCDs consist of the 743BX, 943BX, 943BWX, 2043BWX and 2243BWX models with the ‘BWX’ indicating ‘widescreen’ and prices ranging from $239 up to $359.

All the monitors have adjustable height, can rotate and swivel and feature a very slim 15mm bezel making it easy to tile next to each other for multi-monitor desktops. Included is a contrast ratio of 8,000:1 with Samsung’s MagicColor technology and a DVI port with HDCP.

Nothing quite says my boardroom is state of the art like a snazzy flat panel display mounted on the wall. NEC is one of the latest to showcase a display for this capacity, announcing today the NEC MultiSync LCD5220. It is priced at around $8,150.

The NEC MultiSync LCD5220 is a 52-inch display NEC says is the first of its type “based on a professional-grade panel.” It’s got a very thin bezel and can be used standalone or as part of multiple-display, video-wall implementations. It supports 1080p and comes with a color calibration kit for self-described “color uniformity and fidelity.”
