MSI offers more details on X-Slim X400 and X600 notebooks

Posted in MSI by Shane McGlaun on May 14th, 2009

msixslimx400-sbI find myself really wanting to get my hands on the MSI X-Slim X400 notebook. Since I saw the X340 at CES I have thought that the slim notebook would be a good replacement for my netbook. It would be nice to have a larger keyboard and screen sometimes, plus the X-Slim machines are way cool.

MSI talked up the new X400 and X600 machines back at the beginning of the month, but offered little in the way of details on the machines. MSI got official with some more specs on the notebooks today. We already knew that the X400 would offer a 14-inch screen and the X600 would offer a 16-inch screen.

Microsoft and Verizon reportedly working on an iPhone competitorHere we go. Yet another iPhone killer. How many does that make? If the Wall Street Journal’s report is to be believed, Verizon is currently in talks with Microsoft regarding a project with the codename “Pink”. Pink will be a Microsoft-designed iPhone rival with a multimedia focus and, very likely a big touchscreen.

According to the report, Microsoft’s version of the iPhone will also feature a tweaked version of Windows Mobile OS with “new software capabilities.” Microsoft is apparently involved with the design of the phone, while a third party will build it.

Stix is a Wiimote for the PC
So you’ve wanted some motion control on your PC, but so far every mod you’ve attempted fails miserably. The folks at GoLive2 are here to help with Stix, a Wiimote for the PC. No, it won’t sing Mr. Roboto or Come Sail Away, but it will let you have a Wii-like experience on your PC.

It’s launching with a companion website called sphere that has hundreds of “free Web-based games” available, which usually means suckage. The Stix 200 will work with those games while the Stix 400 will apparently work with normal PC games. It will be available in August.
