Samsung launches new 3D plasma TVs targeting gamingSamsung launched some new plasma TV’s in Korea build in collaboration with Electronic Arts to provide a superior “3D” gaming experience. The company released two new PAVV HDTV’s, one measuring 42 inches and the other 50 inches, equipped with USB 2.0, HDMI, HD resolution, the Samsung DNIe+ (Digital Natural Image engine+) anda 1,000,000 to 1 contrast ratio.

New Sharp televisions offer Internet access

Sharp LC-52SE94USharp towed to CES this week its usual interesting line up of cutting edge consumer electronics. A shining example of this is its AQUOS SE94 series flat panels which, among other features, are Internet-enabled. This particular family of Sharp televisions ranges in size from 46 to 65 inches and is priced between around $3,200 and $11,000.

The Sharp AQUOS SE94 series can, when connected to an Ethernet port, let you access a Sharp service which provides “customized Web-based content as well as real-time customer support directly on the AQUOS television.” The company, working with Web based content providers, says you’ll be able to configure widgets which let you get information like the local weather forecast as well as enjoy your favorite comic strip via your remote control.

Sony reveals 3mm thick XEL-1 OLED TV

Sony XEL-1 is a 3mm 11-inch OLED TVIt looks like Sony has come through on those OLED TV’s they’ve been touting since as far back as January. Today the company has finally unveiled information on the release of these super-slim televisions boasting 1,000,000:1 contrast.

That 3mm truly makes this new OLED from Sony the thinnest TV/monitor thing going (and probably the most fragile). Sony says the XEL-1 OLED TV with an 11-inch display will be available in Japan on December 1 going for about $1700. The new XEL-1 will have a built-in tuner, 960 x 450 resolution, HDMI input as well as USB and ethernet, two 1W built-in speakers and measures 287 × 140 × 253mm.

lg-pad.jpgThe cool kids in Hollywood are finding a place to shelter themselves from the hot California sun while playing with tech toys from LG Electronics. The LG House Malibu is open for business for the movie star crowd.

The LG House Malibu is 3,500 square feet of electronic party space, said LG. The house, which has already hosted parties for Chris Brown, Nick Cannon and Emmy Rossum, also recently held a party for Universal’s casts of its Emmy- nominated shows such as Heroes, House and The Office. Upcoming events will include celebrity birthday parties, beach days and MTV’s premiere party for The Hills.

Samsung 94 series wireless plasma HDTV transfer video through WiFiSamsung has a new line of plasma HDTVs out that do away with all the cables (aside from the power cord) and allow you to mount these up on your wall without any other component or cable clutter around it.

HitachiHitachi has been busy this week showcasing their Fall 2007 line up of plasma displays for the masses. These models range in size from 50- to 60-inches and price from around $3,000 to $8,000.

Fujitsu Ups 2.5″ Drives By 50% to 300 GB

Fujitsu 300 GB 2.5Today Fujitsu announced the MHX2300BT; the worlds first 2.5 inch, serial ATA 300 GB hard drive. This drive capacity is about 50% more than previously offered and will provide greater space to store information for notebooks, video recorders, flat panel TV’s and similar items in the future.
