JVC Japan has unveiled the GD-463D10 a 46 inch HD LCD TV which can…wait for it… display images in 3D. The LCD features a contrast ratio of 2000:1 with a maximum of 10000:1 in dynamic mode and is super thin at just 39mm.

The panel was developed using the Xpol polar screen system and much to our sadness requires special 3D glasses to watch the image in its full 3D glory. The 3D will look excellent, you’ll just look like a dork. The onboard speakers deliver an output of 10W×2ch and the unit comes with two 3D glasses. Though I am sure they are willing to sell you more.

The Cube B52HD is a new HD PMP from Cube that comes with a 5 inch (480 x 272pixel) touchscreen display and lets you enjoy 720p videos when you connect it to an HDTV. Sadly, you won’t be getting HD on its 5 inch screen.

The player supports RM, RMVB, MPEG, AVI, FLV video files and MP3, WMA, WAV, APE, FLAC, OGG audio files. Some other features include an FM tuner, and 8GB of storage space. The Cube B52HD HD PMP is currently available in China for $80.

Mitsubishi just announced a whole bunch of new LCDs. DLPs too. The one that has us most interested is an 82-inch DLP for $4200. It isn’t just frakkin huge, it’s also equipped with “3D-ready viewing technology.”

With this baby you’ll be all ready to go whenever 3D content enters your home. It’s part of their 737 “home theater” TV line. The company also updated their soundbar-integrated LCD TVs, which start at $1800 for a 40-inch model up to to $3,300 for a 52-incher.

I really like projectors; they allow you to get larger images from your TV or movies without having to spend $10k on a massive LCD TV. With a projector you can get images 100-inches or bigger for only a few thousand dollars. Sanyo has announced its latest HD projector called the PLC-WXE45.

The projector has a 16:9 aspect ratio, 500:1 contrast ratio, and 2000 lumens of brightness. The screen resolution for the projector is 1280 x 800 making it capable of 720p HD resolution. The device is designed for short throw distances and can produce and image of 80-inches from 34-inches away.

ViewSonic just announced another LCD model for your consideration. The VT2230 LCD TV is a 22-incher, for those who need a smaller screen that offers a high quality image. It features a 16:9 aspect ratio with 1080p resolution, 5ms response time, 8,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and 300cd/m2 brightness.

Decent specs for an LCD that will be tucked away in that small area in your home. This one comes with several integrated tuners including NTSC, ATSC and QAM. The connections include HDMI, VGA, composite and S-Video inputs. You can get the ViewSonic VT2230 LCD TV now for a reasonable $349.

Looks like you can now configure Dell’s latest netbook with a 1366×768 screen, which is big enough to handle 720p. It will cost about $35 extra, so it’s a no-brainer. Assuming that wide frame around the screen doesn’t bother you on a 10 incher, at any rate.

And another factor is: How well does it handle 720p? From what we can gather, there’s a built-in TV tuner and a six-cell battery coming at some point, but nothing yet.

At CES this year the big focus wasn’t on huge screens as it had been in the past years, but on how thin LCD and other types of TVs could be. There were some very thin TVs being shown at the show that looked pretty sexy. I still say that the only reason someone would care how thin their TV was is if they are wall mounting the set.

Samsung has announced that it is now in production with its energy efficient edge-lit LED backlit LCD panels. The panels are being produced in 40-inch, 46-inch, and 55-inch sizes for ultra thin big screen TVs. The screens are only 10.8mm thick according to Samsung.

The iRiver P35 was introduced in the US during CES 2009, but now iRiver has decided to launch the device in Korea. The player features USB 2.0 OTG, a 4.3 inch LCD (WQVGA), and is compatible with most of big multimedia formats including Xvid, WMV9, MPEG2/4, and H.264.

You can get the iRiver P35 in three models including the P35 Basic with no WiFi/DMB and only 8GB of internal memory, the P35 DMB with a DMB TV Tuner, no WiFi and 16GB of internal memory, and the P35 WiFi that features both a DMB TV Tuner, WiFi and 16GB of internal memory.

The BeoVision 8 is entering big screen territory. Bang & Olufsen’s latest is known as the BV8-40, and stretches the LCD TV to a full 40-inches diagonally and features a nice 1,920 x 1,080 native resolution.

Some other specs include 500 cd/m2 brightness, a 3,000:1 contrast ratio, six-millisecond response time, a digital TV tuner (In DVB regions) and some nice internal speakers that have been tuned for the “reproduction of human speech”. All we know about pricing is that the MSRP is touted as affordable.

Projectors come in many different shapes and sizes. Each projector is aimed at a specific usage scenario from giving presentations in the boardroom or office to watching HD movies on a massive screen in the home. Sanyo announced its latest professional projector today that is appropriate for movies and more.

The projector is called the PDG-DHT100L and it offers full 1080p resolution. The single chip DLP projector uses a dual lamp system for increased light output when needed and has a user changeable twin color wheel system that increases color reproduction.

GenevaSound’s Home Theater system sound bar is the longest sound bar ever designed but it’s yet to be tested. The sound bar sports a 700-watt amplifier and seven speakers which include a 12-inch subwoofer.

All of that, with just 2.1 virtual surround sound. With those speakers and a $4000 price tag, I want 7.1 with a Blu-ray drive and a lot more. What this bar includes? A CD player, radio, and an iPod/iPhone dock to play all your favorite music when not watching TV.

Sharp’s new AQUOS DH77 LCD TV features full High Definition support and 100Hz technology. It’s available in 32 inch, 42 inch, 46 inch and 52 inch flavors and they all have a “green eco-button” on the remote control that lets viewers lower the energy consumption of the TV when it isn’t in use.

The new AQUOS HDTVs also adopt the “Optical Picture Control” technology that automatically adjusts the backlight brightness according to the lighting in the room. Some other features include a 50,000:1 contrast ratio, three HDMI inputs and a USB port.

JVC has launched a new LCD TV system said to feature a color space that is wider than a typical HDTV. It is called the LT-42WX70 and it will be available this April at a yet as undisclosed price.

The JVC LT-42WX70 is a 42-inch HD LCD TV monitor designed for digital imaging professionals and those using high-end digital SLR cameras. JVC says it features expanded color space capacity encompassing 100 percent of HDTV broadcasting’s (sRGB.904) color space and a coverage rate of 96 percent for Adobe RGB. It also features 52 picture-quality adjustment properties for tweaking both still and video images source-by-source to the exact colors and tones the user prefers.
