The only thing we don’t know about are pricing and availability. The keyboard boasts a 5-inch built-in display, a 1.6 GHz Atom processor, 1 GB of RAM, 16/32 GB SSD, WiFi, flat Mac-like keys and Bluetooth.

Where ports are concerned, it’s got wireless HDMI, 2 USB 2.0, VGA, HDMI, and audio in/out. It sports a 42-inch display in a slim body design.

Samsung’s BDP4600 is thinnest Blu-ray player in the world

Posted in Blu-ray by Conner Flynn on January 6th, 2009

Samsung’s BDP4600 is thinnest Blu-ray player in the worldIf there’s one certainty in life, it’s that gadgets get smaller and smaller while storage size goes up. Thin is in. And it’s not just TVs and display screens that are shedding pounds, but even the portables. Now there’s Samsung’s slimmest Blu-ray player. The player is only 1.5-inches thick.

With the BDP4600, other manufacturers are sure to follow and scale down their Blu-ray players as well. Because let’s face it, most look like crap. No other specs at the moment, but we’ll let you know if anything is sacrificed to gain that trim exterior. It sure looks pretty.

JVC’s 32-7mm thin LCD is the lightest in the world

Posted in JVC by Conner Flynn on January 5th, 2009

JVC’s 32-7mm thin LCD is the lightest in the worldFor a while there, manufacturers were concentrating on large sizes, now it’s depth that is all important. TVs are big and you can get one up to 150 inches if you’re rich and bored, but how thin are they? Chances are they are not thin enough to match your wall art. That’s all about to change as companies race to put out the first super-thin LCD TVs.

JVC is about to show off a new prototype of a 32-inch LCD HDTV at CES this week. It’s unique because it’s a mere 7mm thick and weighs in at just 11 pounds, which thinner and lighter than your TV. Most laptops no longer weigh that. Since it’s a prototype, it won’t be showing up on store shelves anytime soon, but with everyone racing to get them to consumers, it won’t be a long wait.

ZVOX Z-BaseI wanted a surround sound system for many years and for one reason or another, I was never able to get one set up. In the early years of being married, our apartments were too small for a surround sound setup. Then once we had a house the wife deemed wires and speakers too ugly.

At the time, there were no sound bars for me to use, but for those in similar situations today you have options. ZVOX has a new device called the Z-Base All-in-One Home Theater that sits under the TV. Inside the scratch resistant case resides five 2-inch full-range speakers and one 5.25-inch powered subwoofer.
