Looking for a new media player? AMEX Digital has unveiled the MP-G7 Media Gate Android TV media player. This device is powered by a dual-core ARM Cortex processor and will deliver full HD video output over HDMI. The AMEX Digital MP-G7 also supports USB devices, like a keyboard and a mouse of course.

Some other specs include a 2.5-inch hard drive, an SD memory card slot, Ethernet and Wi-Fi connectivity. The AMEX Digital MP-G7 Android TV media player will cost you about $200.

Remember in the old days when you could actually store items on top of your TV? Well, those days are back thanks to ScreenDeck, which will allow you to add a shelf to the top of your LCD or plasma.

This is a disaster waiting to happen for some people. People who will put their drinks on it, or plants, which they will then over-water, but hey it makes life interesting. ScreenDeck comes in three different versions for TVs ranging in size from 30 inches to larger than 50 inches with prices starting at $39.99 and going up to $59.99.

Samsung AF315 All-in-One PC

Samsung’s new AF315 All-in-One PC features a large 23-inch LCD along with Samsung’s switchable active shutter 2D / 3D technology and a thin 11-mm bezel. Aside from that, it packs a Core i5 CPU, 1TB 7200RPM hard disk and USB 3.0.

There’s also a TV receiver, Blu-ray player, remote control, 3D glasses, and a wireless keyboard and mouse combo. It ships in South Korea tomorrow for 2.19 million won or about $2,000. Apparently it is aimed at well dressed business woman types.

Samsung releases D6400/D6500 Series 3D TVs in South Korea

Samsung has announced the D6400/D6500 Series 3D TVs for the South Korean market. They are available in 40-inch, 46-inch and 55-inch versions. The Samsung D6400/D6500 Series 3D TVs feature a Clear Motion Rate (CMR) of 480Hz, a Crystal Black Panel, Hyper-real engine and smart-real motion picture support that reduces cross-talk and flickering.

Both models have the ability to convert 2D content to 3D. Some other features include Bluetooth 3D glasses support, Smart Hub UI and Samsung’s 3D VOD service. The Samsung D6400 3D TV series is priced from 2,400,000 Won ($2,133) to 4,900,000 Won ($4,355). The Samsung D6500 3D TV series is priced from 2,600,000 Won ($2,310) to 5,200,000 Won ($4,621).

LG launching Mobile 3D TV at CES 2011

Yesterday we heard about the new 72 inch LED 3D TV from LG, and now we learn that LG also has some smaller 3D TVs planned. Much smaller. The company will be launching a mobile 3D TV.

The company will reveal this new 3D mobile TV at CES 2011. The device will be powered by an LG2161R MDTV chip with NRT (non Real Time) technology and be able to receive 3D TV signals when you are traveling at speeds of up to 200 km/h. So feel free to watch a lot of content in your fast car. Preferably while someone else is driving.

Panasonic VIERA TH-L42G3 records HD shows to SDXC memory card

The Panasonic VIERA TH L42G3 is a 42-inch HDTV with an IPS LED-backlit full HD display and an SDXC memory card reader. This allows you to record HD television shows directly to the card for later playback. SDXC cards support up to 64 GB in capacity and will give you 5 hours of full HD content.

But that’s not all. You can also connect an external hard drive into the USB port to record more content. Of course what you record can only be viewed on the VIERA set, which is sad. You also get an Ethernet port, two HDMI ports, VIERA LINK, and DLNA support.

Sony offers BRAVIA TV with built-in PS2 console

Sony isn’t finished with the PS2 yet. The company has released a TV that features a built-in PS2 console. The Sony BRAVIA KDL-22PX300 offers a 22-inch display and a disc slot at the base for PS2 games and DVDs.

The games will only run in standard definition, but the TV itself is capable of supporting 720p and offers four HDMI ports, three USB sockets, a SCART socket, PC input and support for component cable. There’s also built-in Freeview and two Ethernet ports for online access to sites like YouTube. It’s available now for GBP200 (or $312).

Best Buy throws in free PS3 with TVs

Looks like now is a good time to buy a new TV if you also need a PS3. Best Buy has just announced some post-holiday deals that are valid until December 11. In the Sony PS3 bundle deals there are several discounts when a Sony TV is paired with a PS3, including a 46-inch LED-lit LCD with a 160GB PlayStation 3 for $1,300, which saves you $1,380. Not bad right?

A 3D-ready 46-inch LED TV with a PS3 will cost you $1,700, a savings of about $1,180. How about a 55-inch 3D-ready LED HDTV and the same PS3 for $2,200?

Panasonic TH-P103MT2 103 inch 3D Plasma TV

Back in 2008 Panasonic introduced the TH-103PZ800, a 103 inch full HD Plasma. Fast Forward to today and Panasonic has improved the technology and introduced the TH-P103MT2, which supports 3D playback. It lacks a TV tuner, but supports full HD resolution and comes with a new dynamic black layer, better gas discharge technology and improved luminous efficiency.

It features a contrast ratio of 5,000,000: 1, 24Hz image processing and even comes with a pair of 3D glasses. This mammoth TV weighs 320 kgs and consumes 1350 Watts of power which is the equivalent of 10 40 inch LED televisions.

iHome outs iP3 iPod/iPhone speaker dock

iHome has announced its latest speaker dock for Apple’s iPod and iPhone with the iP3. It succeeds it’s predecessor, the iP1 and uses Bongiovi Acoustics’ Digital Power Station automatic sound adjustment technology and also has a component video output for playing back videos on a connected TV.

The dock holds a 50W class D amp that drives two 3.5-inch speakers. There’s also an adjustable bass and treble controls. Composite (RCA) video is also included as well as a 3.5mm audio input to connect other audio sources to the iP3′s speakers.

Samsung 55-inch C9000 LCD with Touch Remote

Check out that remote mirroring the TV’s dipslay. It’s a 3-inch touchsreen remote control that’s now shipping with the LED backlit 200Hz Samsung C9000 . The TV measures just 7.98-mm thin and 55-inches diagonally. The remote is built on a 600MHz ARM 11 processor with a custom remote control layer on top of Linux and a 2.4GHz 802.11n radio.

That means you have lots of options to control and view your media, like watching the game even when you have to walk away for a few minutes. You can also preview other channels without interrupting others in the room. It also supports DLNA for streaming your media from compatible devices.

Sanyo debuts new PLV-Z4000 projector

Sanyo makes all sorts of electronics and gadgets from TVs to computers and other devices. Sanyo is big in the projector market for home theater, the classroom and office as well.

The latest projector from Sanyo is the new PLV-Z4000. The projector is aimed at the home theater fan and sports 120Hz 3LCD technology. It has a contrast ratio of 65000:1 and 1200 ANSI lumens of brightness.

I am just about ready to jump on the 3D TV bandwagon. I am waiting for screens that don’t need glasses before I bite and those are probably coming soon. If you can’t wait any longer, a new Samsung 3D TV has landed on Amazon.

The TV is the Samsung 46-inch LN46C750 and it has full 1080p resolution. The TV supports 3D and has a pair of 10W speakers. Other features include a wide color enhancer, and support for Skype on Samsung TV.

Toshiba REGZA HDTVs with integrated HDD or USB storage

Toshiba Japan has updated their REGZA HDTV range with select models supporting USB hard-drives or coming with 500GB of storage built-in. The Toshiba REGZA R1 series comes in 32-, 37- and 42-inch sets, while the REGZA H1 series comes in 32- and 37-inch sets.

Each has a USB port and Full HD resolution (Aside from the 32-inch models, which get 720p support). There’s also the entry level Toshiba REGZA A1 series, with 19-, 22- and 26-inch models, which all offer 720p HD resolution.

Mitsubishi WD-82738 82 Inch 3D TV for $3800

Mitsubishi has announced three new lines of “affordable” 3D Home Cinema TVs. The most interesting model is the 82-inch DLP with 3D for just under $4,000. Sure DLP will bulk it up some, but if that’s a trade off you are willing to make, that’s not a bad price.

The WD-82738 adds StreamTV Internet Media, with applications like Pandora to Vudu to NY Times. The WD-82838 is another 82-inch set for $4,500, which also includes Immersive Sound Technology, and an integrated 16-speaker 5.1 surround sound system.
