Samsung to offer branded memory cards in Taiwan

Posted in Samsung by Shane McGlaun on October 16th, 2009

samsung-logo-sb1Memory cards are pretty much a commodity market today. They are all about the same and rarely are there any differences between brands. Samsung has decided to enter into memory card market in Taiwan with its own line of branded memory cards.

I point out that the cards are branded because Samsung has been manufacturing memory cards as white label products for other manufacturers to sell under their own brand. Samsung will sell SD, microSD, and CF cards with capacities of 4GB, 8GB, and 16GB.

Hands On: Sansa Clip+

Posted in Review by Conner Flynn on October 12th, 2009

SanDisk Sansa Clip+ MP3 playerSanDisk sent us a complimentary Sansa Clip+ to check out. After using it for several days, we’re ready to share our thoughts on the device. The original Sansa Clip has been a popular choice where cheap mp3 players are concerned and the Sansa Clip+ is even better.

The design beats the original, with a larger capacity and better features. The first thing that you notice is how durable this thing is. Despite it’s tiny size, it looks and feels tough. It’s definitely more durable than your average mp3 player. And it feels natural in your hand.

Despite the small size, no stylus is needed for the touchscreen interface. What you get is a full media phone with 4GB of storage and a microSD card slot and it will play videos and music.

Posted in Automotive by Conner Flynn on October 4th, 2009

Car Cam Voyager is a Black Box for your carIt would be pretty handy to have a black box for your car, just like airplanes have. That way if you got into an accident, saw a crime being committed or got beaten up by a cop for no good reason, you would have a record of the event.

That’s basically what the Car Cam Voyager does. It acts like a black box. It’s the first video camera for the car that allows you to record what is happening in real time while you’re driving. The device can display captured video on the 2-inch 320×240 screen and can record up to 48 hours of video on the road to a 32GB microSD card.

Bluetooth headset and microSD reader

Posted in Bluetooth by Conner Flynn on September 23rd, 2009

Bluetooth headset and microSD readerBrando is calling this one the Ultimate Bluetooth headset. What’s so ultimate about it? Maybe because it comes with a built-in microSD memory card reader and supports USB charging. Ultimate? Probably not. To be ultimate it would need to be an in-ear iPhone or something.

Still, it is convenient to carry a microSD memory card with you at all times in your Bluetooth headset. And it only costs $39 to give it a go. They also offer an 8GB microSD card bundle for $65.
