Thin and Sharp edge of this product may cause hurt.” You don’t want to experience the dreaded hurt, so be careful.

Each kit comes with skin and accessory stickers at prices between $14.99 and $24.99. They also carbon fiber, wood and leather covers. Maybe it’s just me, but do you really want to cover your beloved gadget in this crap? I mean, if you love your device, you probably love or at least admire it’s looks.

Your typical gaming notebook will often cost three times or more the amount that you can get a normal notebook for. Not all notebooks for gaming are hugely expensive though and Toshiba has introduced a new gaming machine that has a very reasonable price.

The new Toshiba Qosmio X305-Q701 is a Best Buy exclusive system that retails for $1,549.99. The machine has Toshiba’s slick looking fiery finish with Rouge design. Graphics for the notebook are via NVIDIA GeForce 9700M GTS discrete card and the CPU is an Intel Core 2 Duo P7350 processor.

Dell Studio Line laptopsDell today launched the new “Studio” line of laptops following the trend of more consumers who would like a little more style and customization available for their portable computers. Kicking off the Studio laptops Dell launched the Dell Studio 15 and Dell Studio 17, which come with a 15.4″ and 17.1″ display, respectively.

Both notebooks carry the drop hinge and “wedge” shape seen in the XPS laptops from Dell and both come in a range of vibrant and loud colors, capacitve touchpad and multimedia buttons that light-up when pressed, and an optional backlit keyboard. They also have the option of built-in broadband connections through Sprint or Verizon, Blu-ray drive, slot-loading drives and you can even get a mercury-free LED display if you ask. Dell has put some thought to your laptop accessories as well, offering mice, backpacks, sleeves and earbuds that are colored to match.

Everyone is different when it comes to what they like. That’s why there are so many laptops available with many different styles. Different strokes for different folks. The Advent K200 addresses our wide variety in tastes by offering removable face plates that can be changed. They are all sold seperately. If you get sick of one just buy another.

Maybe this week it’s butterflies, and next week it could be more of an arty look. The laptop itself has a 1.73 Dual Core processor, 2GB of Memory, a 100GB hard drive and a 15.4 inch screen. The face plates are a bit expensive at $40 each, so you may want a small wardrobe for this thing. . The laptop will cost you just under $800.

The studios won’t like this device one bit. The MZK-NAS02SG1T network attached storage device from Planex. The $524 1TB Gigabit Ethernet block claims “universal access” for all your devices, courtesy of its DigiJuke browser, searching and tagging BitTorrent and YouTube content you want downloaded in the appropriate PSP and iPod (MPEG-4), Wii (FLV), or TV (MPEG-2) format for in-home or portable viewing.

The NAS will also stream audio and video to your iTunes laptops or desktops, DLNA TV, Xbox 360, or other compliant device in the home. A USB 2.0 jack offers one-touch dubbing of USB sticks while a second around back offers storage expansion. It ships with a pair of 3.5-inch 500GB drives, which you may want to swap out for higher capacity drives at a later date.

Five new business laptops available from Toshiba

Toshiba yesterday added five new models of laptops to its business line. These new notebooks have a starting price around $700 and are all part of the Satellite Pro family.

The new laptops, depending upon the model, feature 13.3-inch, 14.1-inch, 15.4-inch and 17-inch displays as well as Intel Core 2 Duo processors or AMD dual core processors. Availability of all models should be now and you can get a model by model breakdown after the jump.

Toshiba Satellite L350Toshiba thinks it is time to drive the price of 17-inch desktop replacement laptops down as it today unveiled a new model starting at around $750. The series is called the Satellite L350.

The Toshiba Satellite L350 sports a 17.1-inch WXGA+ “TruBrite” LCD display and AMD Turion 64 X2 dual-core processors. Possible features, depending upon configuration, might also include ATI Radeon X1250 graphics memory and a DVD SuperMulti drive with Labelflash. Labelflash lets you burn images and labels directly to a special DVD-R disc.

Hitachi ups notebook HD storage to 500GB

hitachi-500gb.jpgHitachi is upping the stakes in notebook hard drive storage sizes as CES approaches by unveiling today the world’s highest capacity 2.5-inch mobile hard drive. Expect to see the new 500GB Travelstar 5K500 showing up in laptops sometime in February.

The Hitachi Travelstar 5K500, which will also be available in a slightly smaller 400GB model, is the company’s fourth generation mobile drive to use perpendicular magnetic recording technology. In exact storage terms you can fit on the 500GB drive up to 500 hours of digital video, 178 feature length movies, 250 games or 125,000 four-minute songs. These drives will be available with a 3.0Gb/s Serial ATA (SATA) interface and will include vibration protection technology against bumps which might impact system performance.
