White iPhone 4 thickness may be a problem for your old case

Posted in iPhone by Reuben Drake on April 29th, 2011

The latest in the ongoing saga of the white iPhone 4 is that it is thicker than the black model. The image above demonstrates the point. That’s just the latest problem in addition to shipping ten months late. But the size issue may create a problem for owners as well as case makers.

For instance, the Incase slider which fits a black iPhone 4 has to be forced into place on this model. So will your case fit or won’t it? We can only guess that it is thicker do to added UV protection among other things tweaked. Good luck with your current case and we hope it fits.

Netgear N750 wireless router

Posted in Netgear by Conner Flynn on April 25th, 2011

Who says that all WiFi routers need to look out of place in your home? Not I and certainly not Netgear. The N750 keeps its antennae stashed inside and out of sight. Your wife will certainly appreciate that as it at least keeps a low profile.

Aside from looking pretty sleek, this dual-band 802.11a/b/g/n router is capable of speeds of up to 450Mbps over the 5GHz band and 300Mbps at 2.4Ghz, for an “aggregate combined data rate” of 750Mbps. That just means that you can connect one device in either band without the transfer rate of the other suffering. You won’t get full 750Mbps. The N750 also sports a ReadySHARE USB port for network storage, parental controls, and guest access. All for just $150.

The PSP Go is officially dead

Posted in PSP Go! by Conner Flynn on April 20th, 2011

We told you yesterday that Sony had stopped making the PSP Go. Well, now it is official. They have pulled the plug. Sony Japan has confirmed that it has ceased production of the PSP Go and that all future sales will be limited to current stock.

We can’t say we are heartbroken. It was a bad idea from the word Go. This move will allow Sony to shift its focus to the NGP, which is expected to ship in at least one country by the end of this year. Focus is good. It leads to good consoles. It is the right move.

Guy tries to rob store with Playstation controller

Posted in News by Conner Flynn on April 19th, 2011

Maybe kids these days really are playing too many video games if they think they can rob a store using a Playstation controller. Did he intend to fire using R1 or the square button? We don’t know. We just know that he hid a Sony Playstation controller in his pocket and pretended it was a gun.

He was charged with armed robbery after an officer walked in on the robbery and got him. Right tool for the right job people. I wonder if the controller rumbled when they took him down.

HBO Go app for Android & iOS

Posted in movies by Conner Flynn on April 19th, 2011

HBO has a ton of great original programming. So it is good news that it has announced the HBO Go streaming service is finally going to go mobile. If you are a subscriber, you will get “instant and unlimited access” to “every episode of every season” of every HBO show. How awesome is that?

The app for Android and iOS will also include a wide range of great movies, over 3G and WiFi. It’s for the US only though. Good news for us, not so good for everyone else.
