Craftsman Nextec Hammerhead Auto Hammer

Posted in Tools by Conner Flynn on November 30th, 2008

Craftsman Nextec Hammerhead Auto HammerThe name is a mouthful, but this tool is a long overdue upgrade to the traditional hammer. Without a single swing, it will drive up to 3.5-inch nails with just the pull of a trigger. It’s powered by a 12-volt Lithium-Ion battery and works great in tight spaces.

The best part of course is that it’s a tool for the extremely lazy. Much like me, it nails at 2000 impacts/minute. Just ask the ladies. It also sports a retractable nail sleeve and magnetic head that makes it easy to operate one-handed.

Coffee Cup Gadget Charger for your car

Coffee Cup Gadget Charger for your carYou may or may not have a place in your car to place a gadget charger conveniently. That’s where this charger, shaped like a coffee cup, comes in handy. Chances are you have a cup holder, so just plug it into your cigarette lighter and sit in your cup holder. It converts the DC power from your vehicle into two 120-volt AC outlets and a USB port.

You’ll always have a spot available to charge up. Fits in any standard cup holder. This great solution is only $29.99. Hopefully you have two cupholders so you can still have your coffee too.

Cordless electric chain saw on a stick

Cordless electric chain saw on a stickBig and bulky electric chainsaws may be good for lumberjacks and serial killers, but what about the average guy who just wants to trim some branches that are fourteen feet up? It’s a situation we find ourselves in all too often. If only I had a cordless chainsaw on a long stick.

In fact, who needs ladders at all when you have a chainsaw on stick? The Black & Decker 18-Volt Cordless Electric Pole Chain Saw can reach up to 14 feet and cuts branches six inches in diameter. It weighs in at 7.6 pounds. Does this mean that all of the chainsaw wielding maniac movies will have to be redone. I mean now they can kill from a distance. You can get one for $120.

In-car microwave for breakfast on the go

In-car microwave for breakfast on the go
I for one thought that we had all the distractions we could handle behind the wheel. Apparently, there was one thing missing. That must be why Maplin introduced a portable microwave oven that runs on 12 Volts DC. Put this baby in the passenger seat and heat up your coffee and breakfast as you’re stuck in traffic.

It’s kind of like carpooling with a cook. It’s probably really made for tailgating parties, but don’t let that stop you from ramming the car in front of you while you heat up the hot pocket of death. The Maplin Car Microwave is available now for about $180, which is a little steep. Might as well cook with gas at that price.

Microsoft Zune Arts announces “The Lost Ones” graphic novel

Posted in Microsoft by Shane McGlaun on July 3rd, 2008

The Lost OnesI have never really been into graphic novels like “30 days of Night”, but I did like the flick based on the graphic novel. Zune Arts is normally associated with customized Zune players but its latest release is a graphic novel written by Steve Niles, the same guy who wrote “30 Days of Night”.

The graphic novel is called “The Lost Ones” and the story follows Duncan, Roxy, Rasheed, and Cynthia as a day of extreme planet jumping ends up in a race for their lives and to get back home as they are pursued by an alien race trying to kill them.

Panasonic to build tiny plasma screen into cell phone

Posted in Panasonic by Shane McGlaun on April 3rd, 2008

Panasonic Cell Phone with Plasma DisplayWhen you say plasma display most of us immediately think of a big flat panel TV. In the home theater realm plasma is losing ground to LCD displays as LCDs improve in contrast and brightness. For years now LCD has been the dominate player in the cell phone industry for displays.

Panasonic and AbleComm announced today that Panasonic would be building a cell phone that uses a small plasma display to operate on the newly announced AT&T Mobile TV service. The small screen will require only 1.5 volts to operate and will require no special wiring or power supplies.
