Orbita Mouse looks like a red blood cell

Posted in Mouse by Shane McGlaun on December 15th, 2008

Orbita MouseIf you go to your local electronics store and look at the display of mice for your computer or notebook, you will notice that they are all very similar in design. Not only do they share the same design and similar technology, the shape means that virtually all mice put stress on the same parts of the hand and wrist.

Cyber E Sport has introduced a new mouse that uses a unique design that reminds me of a red blood cell with a concave design. The round mouse has an indention in the middle and uses wireless 2.4GHz connectivity.

Hybrid Flash Light keeps batteries charged and out of landfill

Posted in Green Gadget by Shane McGlaun on December 10th, 2008

Hybrid Flash LightI don’t know what it is about flashlights and kids. My daughter has every toy a 4-year-old could want and as is the way of the world, she would rather play with a box or my flashlight than all the toys in her room. That means that every time I need my flashlight I have to search her room for it and when I find it, the batteries are usually dead.

A new green flashlight called the Hybrid Solar Light uses solar cells to keep the battery charged. The battery is able to store energy for a claimed three years. Light output from Hybrid solar Light is not that strong at 40 lumens, but it will work in a blackout or to look under the couch for your remote. Water resistance to 80 feet is promised as well.

World’s thinnest MP4 player from Chinavision
At just 4.5mm thin, the 4GB CVSJ-1304 from Chinavision is probably the world’s thinnest portable media player. That’s what the company is claiming and I think they might be right. With a 1.8 inch touch screen that has a resolution of 160 x 128, and support for media formats such as MP4, MP3, WMA, ASF, and WAV, the player also has an FM tuner, rechargeable battery and USB connectivity. It’s not a bad looking player at that. How thin can we get and still be able to touch the device without breaking it?

Voice recording spy watch

This watch not only looks stylish, but it could theoretically help you save the world from an evil mastermind. Even James Bond needs the help of gadgets from time to time.(Every movie) It includes 1GB of flash memory and a mic allowing it to record up to 500 hours of audio. So when the conversation with the villain goes something like, “Do you expect me to talk?”, “No Mr. Bond, I expect you to die!”, you can record it all and share it with your CIA or MI-5 friends.

The rechargeable battery is rated for about 9 hours of recording time, but it only takes 2 hours to fully recharge. To transfer files and charge, it uses a mini USB port and it also has a headphone jack for playing back audio.

The Thodio Box is an iPod Dock with class

Posted in iPod Accessories, music by Conner Flynn on December 3rd, 2007

The Thodio Box iPod Dock

The Thodio iBox is a very nice and somewhat retro looking iPod amplifier that is handcrafted from wood which is finished with quality high gloss lacquer. It will make your desk look much classier. The rechargeable battery provides 15 hours of juice, and the two speakers deliver 25 watts of power each.

It’s been a trend lately to recapture that look of old 1950′s Television sets with their woodgrain cabinets, and translate the look to these new devices. Anything looks at least a bit neater in wood, but with the Thodio, I think they got the design just right. Each case is handcrafted from 15mm of beech, oak, teak, zebrano or mahogany.
