When you think about it having the toilet and the sink in separate components doesn’t make much sense. Combining the two would save space and hopefully encourage those non-hand washers to wash up after doing their business because it’s right there. You know who you are. It saves water too.

The Dual Flush toilet puts this into practice by letting you brush your teeth while you pee and wash your hands and whatever else you want to do before you THEN flush, using the same water for all of it. Is it weird? Hell yeah, but you are saving a ton of water.

Best Buy, besides doing exclusive tie ins with Toshiba and Klipsch, also is showcasing today a new HP laptop, the dv3510nr. This offering, plus the Toshiba one, are part of the company’s new customer-feedback driven, exclusive Blue Label series of consumer electronics products.

The Blue Label line has Best Buy working with manufacturers to design products which “address the needs” of consumers. The CE retailer learned from its customers about laptops that they want “longer battery life, a thin and lightweight design, an illuminated keyboard, more optimal screen size and superior warranty support.”

An estimated one in eight American women will be affected by breast cancer in their lifetime. That’s why Canon and tennis star Maria Sharapova have teamed up again to release a special canon bundle to fight breast cancer. The bundle includes the PowerShot SD1100 IS Digital ELPH camera in pink, a pink SELPHY CP760 Compact Photo Printer, pink ribbon charm and a mammogram reminder magnet from the American Cancer Society.

Canon is celebrating their 10-year involvement in the American Cancer Society, so throughout this month, Canon will donate $150,000 to the American Cancer Society. No word on price yet, but if you’re in the market for a pink camera and printer, it’s for a good cause. So why not.

There is however a slight catch. It won’t hold your beer. Dry goods only. Something tells me if you are buying this, you’ve got some contraband dry goods to put in it in place of your beer. It will be the best $900 you’ve ever spent. You can even sit your mullet-headed kid on it.

Kodak’s got itself a couple of new wireless all-in-one inkjet printers which reportedly offer the “lowest ink replacement cost in the industry.” These printers are the ESP 7 and ESP 9, priced around $200 and $300, respectively.

Kodak says these new printers will save you, the consumer, around $110 a year on ink, compared to “other leading consumer inkjet printers on the market.” This is done by combining “the latest in printing technology with affordable, premium-quality inks.” The ESP 7 and 9, for example, offer an intelligent paper tray system which automatically adjusts settings based on 4×6 or 5×7 sizes and estimates paper amounts on both trays.

If you bought a laptop that doesn’t have a nifty remote control, the Outel Wireless USB Laptop Remote Control is a nice solution. It fits inside your laptop’s PCMCIA slot and will deliver full wireless remote control functionality. Just pop it out of the slot, plug the dongle into the USB port and you’re good to go. Great for controlling your music, video playback and other multimedia jazz from up to 30m away.

The best part has nothing to do with your laptop however. It’s all the fun you and your cat will have playing with the integrated laser pointer. It will cost you £15.59 and your cat will thank you, by chasing the pretty light and getting some exercise, while you sit and gain weight while using your remote.

A few things tend to be common amongst DSLR cameras. They tend to be large and heavy cameras, have interchangeable lenses and usually you only get black or silver colors to choose from. The DSLR is becoming more popular as new models are introduced that add new features to the category as the cameras get smaller, the get more appealing as well.

Today, Panasonic announced the world’s first Micro Four Thirds system camera. The Lumix G1 claims several world’s firsts including the world’s smallest and lightest interchangeable lens camera and the world’s first to be offered in multiple colors. The G1 weighs 0.85 pounds, making it about half the weight of DSLR cameras.

The Wellness Skull, designed by Atelier Van Lieshout allows people to sweat out illness inside of an actual skull. Because it’s not just for witches and goblins anymore. Others want to get fit in a morbid way too. It features an integrated sauna in the head with a bath located in the neck. Those nearby outside can see hot steam escape through the skull’s eyes.

If that’s not enough for the skull lover in you, the designer also offers up the Sensory Deprivation Skull, which is a chamber where you can get away from it all. The Sensory Deprivation Skull is made of reinforced fiberglass and measures 150cm x 110cm x 137cm. Only 10 are available, which is a good thing. Seeing too many people crawling out of skulls would just be plain weird.

While we’re waiting with bated breath for a possible new updated Nintendo DS model that has been rumored, we thought we would take a look at some of our favorite DS mods. Like the Wii, modders love to spice up Nintendo’s boring design and put their own personal touches on the device. Some are weird, some are awesome, some will make you wonder what’s in the modder’s local water supply, but all are creative.

Canon the other day unveiled three new digital cameras, among others, which fill out further its A-series line as well as its SX-series of ultra-zoom cameras. These cameras include the new PowerShot A1000 IS and PowerShot A2000 IS as well as the PowerShot SX110 IS. Pricing is set at around $200, $250 and $300, respectively.

Canon says these new cameras offer new looks, robust feature sets and lighter body designs. All should be available by the end of September. You can read full details after the jump.

LaCie’s got itself a new designer external hard drive today which is networked for NAS duty. It is called Network Space and you’ll find this drive offering 500GB or 1TB of storage when it becomes available next month.

The LaCie Network Space, which starts pricing around $150, is the latest design for the company by Neil Poulton. It has a black mirror-polished finish, fanless operation and blue LED strip. LaCie says it is usable right from the box by just plugging into an Ethernet port.

The Crayola EZ Type keyboard sure isn’t easy on the eyes. It’s great to use when you want your kids germy and sticky hands well away from your own keyboard. Alternately, it would be great for old people for the same reason, plus the colored keys are big and easy to read. Or maybe you just like your accessories to look like crayons. Either way, you can get it from Crayola for $29.99. Also great for those in clown college. I’m surprised they didn’t put that crayon sharpener on it somewhere like on the crayon box.

HP had a few new laptops to show off today, including its smallest and lightest notebook to date with a built-in optical drive. Featured were two HP laptops – one a tablet – and a Compaq.

The HP EliteBook 2530p and HP EliteBook 2730p are expected to be available by early September, pricing around $1,500 and $1,670 starting, respectively. The HP Compaq 2230s is currently available for around $1,000. You can get full details after the jump via HP’s press release.

Elecom has some new wooden speakers that are fairly clean looking and cheap. Which I guess is appropriate, since they look like everyone’s cheap prefab entertainment centers etc. They Measure 80mm × 110mm × 130mm and weigh just 1.15Kgs. The new MS-130 amplifier speakers also have an output of 3 W × 2ch with a frequency of 20 Hz to 20kHz. Some other features are a stereo mini input, microphone input and output for headphones. The Elecom MS-130 should be available in Japan later this month for the price of $45.

This rare Dark Knight Xbox 360 was spotted at the Microsoft game exhibition in Taiwan. Every self respecting nerd and his comic book dealer want to get their hands on it, but that just isn’t going to happen. Turns out there were only 110 made and it looks like the only way to get one is on ebay, where they seem to be going for $800 and up. It only comes with a 20GB hard drive and the same accessories as the $300 bundle.You better go find a money tree and shake it real hard. There’s always this thing.
