HTC has now launched its TattooMyHTC service that allows customers to customize their HTC Tattoo smartphone starting at €11.99. It’s the first Android smartphone from HTC with removable covers (remember Nokia faceplates?).

A pre-made design will start at €11.99 but if you want to use your own design you will have to add another €3. You can make it however you like it. TattooMyHTC is available only for the HTC Tattoo, but more devices might be added later if HTC makes new handsets with changeable covers.

Netbooks have been very popular since they launched and the economy went bad. Many consumers are finding the low price point of the typical netbook to be hard to pass up. As sales of netbooks soar, overall revenues in the notebook category are slipping.

Research firm DisplaySearch has released its latest numbers for the notebook and netbook category and the value of the notebook PC market as a whole was $26.4 billion, up 10% quarter over quarter, but down 5% year over year. The netbook segment was the biggest growth category with an increase from last quarter of 37% and a year over year increase of 264%.

We’ve seen plenty of Rock Band guitars, but the new Rock Band ‘Player’s Edition’ Fender Telecaster for the Xbox 360 has a distressed look. For $110. By now I would think everyone has a Rock Band guitar, so $110 seems pretty steep, distressing or no.

The Mad Catz guitar also features Shredderz fret buttons that should make it easier to rock those solos. Some other features include the optional Electro-Harmonix Overdrive Pedal, the back tuning button, tilt mechanism, and a new touch sensitive pickup.

It’s Breast Cancer Awareness month and to support the search for a cure to breast cancer many companies in the consumer electronic market are offering donations of part of the proceeds from some of the items they sell. The money donated will help support cancer research.

As you might expect most of the electronic devices that are part of the breast cancer awareness push from companies are pink. Sony announced a couple pink products today including the Pink W Series netbook bundle and the Rose Reader Pocket Edition.

Meet the DMR-XP200 and XE100, two new DVD and HDD recorders from Panasonic., Both have similar specs and look the same design-wise.

The Panasonic XE100 has a 320GB HDD and a digital TV tuner, while the Panasonic XP200 features a 500GB HDD, a digital and analog TV tuner, and a BS/110 CD digital tuner. The XP200 can also record 1Seg TV programs and save recorded video on an SD card.

Lenovo’s Q110 nettop has now gone on sale for $399. For that price you get 2GB of RAM and a 160GB hard drive, along with Windows Vista Home Premium. Though many of you will probably wait a few weeks and get it with Windows 7 loaded in.

Just realize that there is no keyboard or mouse included. Also it looks like the White model isnt available yet, only the black.

Alpine’s latest iXA-W407 Digital Media Station supports iPod/iPhone playback (Sorry CD users, it won’t do CDs anymore) and sports a large 7″ QVGA touchscreen display along with integrated Bluetooth connectivity and other features.

The iXA-W407 is available as an all-in-one audio/video/navigation system package that includes the NVE-M300 GPS Navigation Drive. This all-in-one AVN package from Alpine will cost you a cool $1100. You can also connect USB devices and MTP-based MP3 players using the USB input.

Here’s one for you weary road travelers who use your iPhone 3GS as your main navigation device while driving. TomTom has introduced a car kit for the iPhone 3GS in the UK Apple Store and it’s available for pre-order.

It will run you £100 along with an up to a three week wait before shipping gets underway. For that price, you get the TomTom navigation app for your iPhone 3GS or 3G and a docking kit to keep your iPhone secure on your dashboard or windshield.

Some of the new vehicles on the roads today have navigation systems built in from the factory. Other vehicles don’t and the driver has to choose from in-dash navigation units or the type of navigation units that stick to the windshield. The in-dash sort is much better looking and Pioneer offers a while line of them.

Today Pioneer announced a new iPhone app that interacts with two of its high-end in-dash navigation devices including the AVIC-U310BT and the AVIC-Z110BT. Both of the navigation systems can interact with the iPhone app via Bluetooth.

NetGear has now jumped into the consumer NAS market with a 1TB offering dubbed Stora. It’s basically a “dumbed down” version of their business NAS devices, compatible with Mac, Linux and Windows platforms. It should work pretty good as an iTunes or DLNA server.

It’s also ships with a two-bay configuration which is auto-set to mirror data. The NetGear Stora MS2110 will retail for $229 and comes with a 1TB drive.

Here are some useful electronic combination locks from Kiwkset. Great for added peace of mind when you are on vacation or if you just want to keep track of your kid’s comings and goings when you are at work. These locks will send an email to your cellphone when someone unlocks your door.

Locks from both companies are designed to be integrated with a wireless whole house automation system; Kwikset is partnered with Control4 and Schlage has its own system called LiNK. You can do things like program the lock so that when you enter your code you initiate other activities such as lights turning on, music or TV switches on, etc.

This has been a week packed full of new projectors. The good news is that many of the new projectors announced this week are lower priced making them affordable replacements for HDTVs in the living room. I think most guys would want the largest image they can get, and a projector delivers that.

NEC has unveiled a pair of new projectors called the NP110 and the NP215. These projectors have up to 2500 lumens of brightness and integrated speakers. The native resolution for the NP110 is 800 x 600 while the native resolution for the NP215 is 1024 x 768. The contrast ratio is 2000:1 and the lamps promise up to 5000 hours of life.

Monopoly has so many incarnations at this point that you may think they can’t do anything new. Turns out they have some tricks up their sleeve. Monopoly is about to go online. On September 9, Hasbro will launch Monopoly City Streets, which is a live, worldwide version of the popular game.

Kodak has some new all-in-one printers hitting the market in the form of the ESP 3250 and ESP 5250. Both models are equipped with Kodak’s Kodacolor technology, which lets you get away with using very cheap ink.

The two models are similar, but the ESP 3 has the added capability of a multi-function memory card reader and a 1.5″ LCD display for $130. The ESP 5250 will cost you $170 and comes with Wi-fi connectivity, the multi-function memory card reader and a smaller 2.4″ LCD display.

I have already mentioned today that Sennheiser has unveiled a couple new headsets aimed at computer users who use VOIP. Those are not the only new offerings that Sennheiser is showing off today though. The company has also announced three new sets of wireless headphones that will be coming soon.

The new wireless headphones include the RS 160, RS 170, and RS180. The wireless range varies with the model and the 160 has a 20 meter range, the 170 offers 80 meters, and the 180 has a 100 meter range, all within the line of sight. All three headphones have padded ear cups for long wear without discomfort.
