Samsung Luxury Galaxy Tab to cost $1,000

Posted in Samsung by Conner Flynn on December 13th, 2010

Samsung is unleashing a special Luxury edition of its Galaxy Tab that will cost $1,000.00. For that price you get an exclusive leather case to carry the tablet in and a Bluetooth headset in addition to the stock Galaxy Tab. That’s it.

That’s right. There isn’t any gold or silver or even a single Swarovski crystal anywhere. We aren’t even sure if it will be the 3G-capable version. If this is a Wi-Fi-only model, you better pass on this one.

It must have one, but we don’t see a peripheral port in the pic. We are expecting a CES 2011 debut, but who knows, we might learn more before then. It looks pretty sexy at any rate.

iPad arriving in Walmart stores starting next week?

Posted in iPad by Conner Flynn on October 10th, 2010

A photo of an email sent to Walmart store managers received by MacRumors indicates that the Apple iPad will be rolled out to up to 1000 stores by the end of October, starting next week.

The photos show that Walmart will be offering all six models of the iPad with initial stock limited to just five of each model per store. Never fear, the standard range of iPad accessories will also offered along with AppleCare extended warranties. Sources say that an additional 800 stores will begin carrying the device in November, and each store will have a live demo unit inside a case that will include a looping video demonstration of the iPad in action.

We just want to know what the price is going to be like with a contract. If they beat AT&T’s offers, things could get competitive.

The screen has the 2560 x 1600 resolution you expect for a 30-inch panel and a 7ms response time that will make gamers happy.
