Samsung Omnia II launching December 2 for $200 |
Looks like we can finally say that Verizon’s version of the Samsung Omnia II is almost here. It will be launching on all fronts, telesales, online, and in-store, on December 2 for $199.99 on contract after a $100 mail-in rebate.
It sports a 3.7-inch WVGA AMOLED display, 8GB of internal storage plus microSD expansion, 5 megapixel cam, and WinMo 6.5 Professional. If you can resist the allure of Motorola’s Droid, this is a good one. The TouchWiz 2.0 UI looks nice.

Webcams are pretty much the same today. Some of them have better optics and more megapixels than the others have, but design wise they all pretty much sit on top of your monitor to capture video. IPEVO has announced a new webcam called the IPEVO P2V USB CAM.
What with all of the
Motorola is offering up some new digital photo frames, including dual display frames and a Wi-Fi model that lets you send images directly to the frame by email. The LS1000W has a 10.4-inch display, with 512 MB of built-in memory, an MP3 player and speakers, an alarm clock and calendar function. The £200 frame has Wi-Fi connectivity and content from the thousand FrameChannel online channels that can be viewed on the device including internet radio.
I like it when my electronic gear can serve more than one purpose. My iPhone can act as a MP3 player and a MID in addition to making calls and I would like it if my normal monitor could do other tasks as well. Samsung has announced a pair of new LCDs called the 933HD and the 2333HD that work for your computer and work as normal TVs too.
The Motorola DROID will hit Verizon on November 6th for $199 on contract. That’s after a $100 mail-in rebate. The DROID itself is the first of many Android phones coming to the carrier. There’s Android 2.0 of course, Visual Voicemail, a 3.7-inch display (854 x 480 resolution), 5 megapixel camera with dual-LED flash, a bundled 16GB memory card and a beta version of Google Maps Navigation.
T-mobile subscribers looking for a new handset can get their hands on the Equinox from Sony Ericsson very soon. The clamshell phone offers features that will appeal to younger users and the device operates on the T-Mobile 3G network.
The upcoming ULV-powered, 11.6-inch IdeaPad U150 has just been announced in Japan. We don’t know when it will be coming to the US. It packs an Intel Core 2 Duo SU4100 ULV processor, integrated graphics, 2GB of RAM, a 250GB HDD, multitouch trackpad and Windows 7.
So now we have two major manufacturers
The last projector I played with was one of those tiny pico projectors that was not bright enough to use in any room with ambient light. Sanyo has announced a new projector that promises the most brightness you can get in an 110V unit at 12,000 lumens.
Lately many all-in-ones have featured multitouch monitors. Well here’s a multitouch 21.5 inch monitor from Dell, the SX2210T, without the all-in-one PC included.
Every time I look around there is a new netbook computer being unveiled or a low cost notebook, which is what the masses want thanks to the poor economy. There is a building demand for other types of computers as well like the all-in-one desktop and Acer has unveiled its latest AIO called the Z5610.
Acer has announced the Acer Aspire Timeline AS1810TZ notebook which sports an 11.6″ screen with an HD resolution and is LED backlit. This one has a full sized keyboard and delivers up to 8 hours of battery life on a single charge.
After months of waiting and some competitive pressure from other e-reader players, Amazon finally goes international with the Kindle. Now you will be able to wirelessly download content in over 100 countries. Other than that the 6-inch device is the same. The $279 price tag on the Kindle U.S. & International Wireless is $20 more than the standard Kindle.
You know the deal. When you’re just a little tyke getting the hang of riding your bike, you need training wheels. Well, the kids of the future are laughing at you. They are all using the Gyrowheel instead of training wheels, on a Gyrobike.
