LaCie and Porsche Unveil New Aluminum Hard Drives

LaCie and Porsche Design have joined forces before to make beautiful external hard drives together and now they have done it again. They have just unveiled two new hard drives: the LaCie Porsche Design Mobile P’9220 and the Desktop P’9230 Hard Drives.

These hard drives both have fast USB 3.0 ports and a super sleek aluminum frame that is a real beauty. Pricing for the mobile hard drive starts at $104.99 for the 500GB model, while $119.99 is the price for the Desktop hard drive with 1TB of data, and the 2TB model is $159.99. Both will be available soon.

HTC Thunderbolt Wireless Charging Battery Cover Hits Verizon

If you have an HTC Thunderbolt you might be interested in this new accessory that is now available. The official Verizon Wireless Charging Battery Cover. With the cover installed you don’t have to use wires to charge up.

Once the battery cover is installed just sit the smartphone on the charging base. The battery cover costs $29.99 and is in stores right now. It makes life a tad easier and we like that. The charge base is $70.

Buffalo 1TB MiniStation HD-PCT1TU2 Portable Hard Drive

Buffalo is getting ready to launch yet another portable hard drive in Japan. This one is called the MiniStation HD-PCT1TU2 and it comes in 1TB capacity, with a glossy enclosure in either white or black.

Some other features include a USB 2.0 interface, software for power management and data backup and encryption. The 1TB MiniStation HD-PCT1TU2 will hit Japan next month for 13,600 Yen (or about $169 in yankee dollars).

Samsung Series 5 hits Europe on June 24th

Samsung’s giving folks in Europe some Chromebook goodness, so if you have a taste for Chrome and are European, this is some good news. The Samsung Series 5 will hit Europe this Friday for €399 (or £349) for the Wi-Fi model and €449 (or £399) for the 3G version.

The Chrome OS laptop will be available in the UK, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, and Italy for now with other countries getting it over the next few months. Are you getting one?

Toshiba DX1215 all-in-one PC hits the US

Toshiba has introduced its first all-in-one PC for the US. The DX1215 is intended as a media hub with a 21.5-inch, 1080p touchscreen, Onkyo speakers and Waves MaxxAudio processing. There’s also Toshiba’s TV-focused video upscaling engine and a new Sleep & Music feature that lets users play music from the speakers through another source even if the machine is off.

Toshiba expects systems to have Core i5 and i7 processors, a 1TB hard drive, a DVD burner and a pair of USB 3.0 ports and four 2.0 ports. Some versions will have a TV tuner. these will be exclusive to Best Buy and they ship on July 3.

Apple unveils updated Time Capsule

It’s been a long time since Apple has unveiled a new Time Capsule, almost two years. That was when the 2TB model arrived. These days that isn’t quite so much storage as it used to be.

And just as you need more storage than ever, Apple has unleashed an updated Time Capsule that offers up to 3TB of storage. Will that be enough for you? Probably not, but it’s what we have. The 2TB model is $299 while the 3TB is $499.

Acer Predator G5910 Gaming System

Acer has unveiled their new Predator G5910 gaming system which can be equipped with a 2nd Generation Intel Core Processor with H67 Chipset. Processor options include either a K series Intel Core i7 or Core i5 CPU which can be overclocked. The system will use the Intel Extreme Tuning Utility (IXTU) to fine tune your system for peak performance.

The Acer GD245HQ 3D monitor would go nicely with this system since it has NVIDIA 3D Vision and a pair of shutter glasses as well as optional Blu-ray drive.

Samsung NC215S solar netbook headed for Russia

The sun is usually an enemy to laptops. Just try using your screen on a bright day. But in this case it will power your PC. First introduced for the African market, Samsung’s NC215S will be heading for Russia in August for 13,999 rubles ($479).

The lid is almost entirely a solar panel and so this netbook has an estimated battery life of 14.5 hours. The NC215S packs in a 1.6GHz N570 Intel Atom dual-core processor, 250GB of storage, and 1GB of RAM.

Lenovo IdeaPad S100 now available for pre-order

If you have been waiting on the Lenovo IdeaPad S100 notebook, here’s some good news. The computer is available for preorder from Amazon right now. The Lenovo IdeaPad S100 features a 10″ 1024 x 600 display, 1GB of DDR3 RAM, a 250GB HDD, and a battery life of 5 hours.

It also has a dual-core Intel Atom N570 processor. The Lenovo IdeaPad S100 comes with Windows 7 Starter Edition and will cost you $329.99 online. No shipping date yet, but at least you can get your pre-order in.

Commodore C64 remake shipping next week

Commodore has announced that it is almost finished with its first wave of production for the remake of the C64. The now dual-core Atom PC will ship next week. A Barebones version is $250, while a complete Basic version starts at $595 with a 1.8GHz Atom, NVIDIA Ion graphics, 2GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive and no optical drive.

For the serious buyer, the $895 ultimate model has a Blu-ray drive, 4GB of RAM, a 1TB hard drive and Wi-Fi. Each model has multi-format card reading and modern video out and expansion. Ubuntu Linux 10.10 as well. Not long after launch you can get a copy of Commodore OS which mimics the original C64′s environment and software support.

Silicon Power Diamond D10 USB 3.0 Portable Hard Drives

Silicon Power has a new line of USB 3.0 portable hard drives called the Diamond D10. The ones above look pretty shiny. They are available in 500GB, 640GB, 750GB and 1TB sizes.

They are functional and stylish. The 2.5-inch hard drives come with a classic checkered design, a USB 3.0/2.0 interface and come bundled with a carrying bag. We don’t have any info on pricing or a release date yet though. When we know, we will let you know.

Dell Streak 10 Pro launching in China this summer

Dell has confirmed its 10-inch Honeycomb tablet, the Streak 10 Pro along with another Windows 7 tablet for enterprise customers later in the year. Dell’s priority for this Android tablet is in developing countries though and it will hit China this summer over the US or even across Europe.

That may seem like an odd move, but Dell is number two in the market over there and they can get it out earlier because they don’t need to ship the tablet with the Google Experience over there. Dell sees China as having “more interesting” growth rates, faster adoption rates and “much more savvy” users.

Sure, the iPhone is ultra popular, but many people still like flip phones. So how do you compromise? Well, Softbank has an answer with their new phone.

The company’s new handset was developed by Sharp and features a 3.4 inch touch screen, high resolution camera, and runs Google’s Android operating system. And it’s waterproof. Will it be a hit with flip-loving folk? We’ll see. It will hit Asia in mid-June for about $490.

Kingmax Unveils New Line Of 2.5-Inch SATA III SSDs

Check out the new line of 2.5-inch SATA III SSDs from Kingmax Technology. These can be had in four different storage capacities: 64GB, 128GB, 256GB and 512GB and are equipped with an impact-resistant metal shell, a SATA III 6.0 Gbps interface, NCQ and TRIM support and a MTBF of 1.2 million hours. These SSDs mean business.

They offer read/write speeds of up to 415/95 MB/s (for the 64GB model), 415/175 MB/s (for the 128GB model), 415/260 MB/s (for the 256GB model) and 415/260 MB/s (for the 512GB model). Nothing yet on pricing though.

ASUS Eee Pad MeMo 3D

ASUS has now unveiled the Eee Pad MeMo 3D, showing it off at Computex 2011. What makes this tablet unique is that it features a glasses-free stereoscopic experience while in landscape mode.

The Eee Pad MeMo 3D runs on Google Android Honeycomb and supports Bluetooth connectivity. Sadly, we don’t know anything more about it. When we hear more we will let you know.
