Fabria Snow Gun deodorizes your home with snow

Fabria Snow Gun deodorizes with your home with snowThe Japanese are a strange and wonderfully wacky and inventive people, sometimes totally off their rocker, which we love. Their latest wacky innovation aims to replace the traditional deodorizer of choice, Febreeze, with something bizarre and awesome at the same time. It’s the Fabria Freshness Gun, which showers your home with a “soft, snow-like mist that uses the natural deodorizing qualities of astringent persimmon and grapefruit.”

According to the website, it’s all very environmentally friendly thanks to natural ingredients, but just ask yourself if you would want a blanket of Febreeze on anything in your home. It can’t be a good thing. Check out the video below, where they show off a snowman and hold grapefruit for your perusal while making it snow from a can.

R/C Star Trek Enterprise glider

R/C Star Trek Enterprise gliderAs far as I’m concerned the best Trek Vehicle ever is the Final Frontier bike, but this RC Enterprise glider sure looks like a ton of fun too. It took a long time, but we finally have a remote controlled Star Trek ship. For the most part, it’s just as graceful as the real deal and seeing the Enterprise soar through the air gets my geek blood boiling.

It’s made of foam and features a touch-control controller designed to look like the communicator from the original series. Check out the video below. The thing even flies after it took a hard landing and lost a nacelle. Also near the end the operator manages to make the smoothest landing the enterprise has ever seen on or off the movie screen. The Star Trek U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 should arrive in May of 2009 and can now be pre-ordered for $79.99.

Guy merges PS2 guitar with Guitar Hero: On Tour

Guy merges PS2 guitar with Guitar Hero: On TourWhen most of us are jamming playing Guitar Hero with our regular sized guitars, the last thing you want to be doing is play on a little handheld. But when playing On Tour with a tiny handheld, it might help a whole lot to have a real guitar.

This modder hacked a wireless PS2 guitar to integrate with Guitar Hero: On Tour and now jams extra hardcore. He attached the PS2 guitar directly to the DS controller. He also added an FM transmitter so the music can stream through a home stereo, rather then the DS speakers. Great job! Check out the video below.

Desktop kung fu baby things will you in the nads
Looking for a new desk toy with some attitude? These guys have plenty. Just look at these guys. You know that they would just walk up to you and kick you in the nuts for no reason at all. Then they wouldn’t even laugh. They’d just look at you all doubled over as if admiring their handiwork, nod and walk away. They’re known as KANFUBOI (Kung-Fu-Boy).

Just put them on your desktop, switch ‘em on, and watch the punches and kicks fly. A built-in sound sensor makes them punch unsuspecting victims. Seriously, watch the video below. These guys aren’t messing around. They will kick and punch the crap out of you and your co-workers will be too intimidated to stop them. In the end you’ll be crying under your desk like a girl and mumbling warnings about no more imports from Japan. They are only available in Japan for $18 each.

Lego Donkey Kong that moves

Lego Donkey Kong that movesHere’s something that makes my cold geek heart melt, skip a beat and pop out of my chest cartoon style. This Lego version of Donkey Kong actually moves people! It moves! It’s alive! Rolling barrels roll. Donkey Kong throws rolling barrels at Mario and Mario jumps. Have a look at the video below.

Pretty awesome invention. I’m not joking when I say that it’s right up there with the toaster and the waffle maker. The guy even made it play the Donkey Kong game start song. If I were rich I would create a Think tank with guys like this, throw a trillion bucks at them and see what else they could do. I would advance geekery and nerdum ahead by a good thousand years.

Solar-powered iPhone in our future?

Solar-powered iPhone in our future?
Is Apple getting into solar power? It looks that way. According to Tradethenews.com, the company filed a patent involving placing solar cells on portable devices. This means that Apple’s iPhone or other devices could have photovoltaic cells stacked underneath LCD touch screens, which maximizes the area available for harnessing and soaking up the power of the sun.

According to the filing, performance info in regard to the performance of a device’s solar cells could be displayed on the main screen next to battery power, which makes sense. It could also appear on top of the actual cells, which could be displaying the Apple logo. Imagine less charging of devices. Then one day no charging at all. Nice.

Could An iCar Be Coming Our Way?

Posted in Apple,Automotive by Chetz on August 31st, 2007

Apple and Volkswagon looking into making an iCarIn a sign that shows how powerful the branding of Apple’s iPod is and how much hurt the car manufacturing sector has come to, Apple and automobile manufacturer Volkswagon AG are now in discussions about making a so-called “iCar” that would be the ideal mode of transportation for any iEnthusiast. Apple CEOe Steve Jobs and Volkswagen’s prexy Martin Winterkorn have already met to talk about ideas for their collaboration and will be having more sessions to spitball ideas for their lifestyle ride.

So what kind of features could an iCar have beside the port for your iPod and iPhone? What about smart technology that lets you download iTunes to the car’s stereo? What about a dashboard that has a user interface like the one in the iPhone? The mind boggles at the possibilities but one more idea that we would like to mention are car commercials along the lines of Apple’s “I’m a PC and I’m a Mac” series. How about “I’m an SUV and I’m a iCar?”

Physician report says iPods in thunderstorms are a bad ideaIt’s got to be difficult to carry the fame that the Apple iPod enjoys without getting some bad press once in a while. A couple months ago we saw that the player can adversely affect pacemakers, and today an article was published in the New England Journal of Medicine stating that wearing your iPod in a Thunderstorm might not be the best idea.

The report cited a case at a hospital in Canada where a man was out jogging during a thunderstorm when lightning struck a tree that …
