We aren’t sure what it is about the Android robot, but he’s just so adorable. Even as a trash can. You could probably build your own if you have a spare trash can. This one was made by a Taiwanese guy who loves Android.

It has LED eyes, movable “arms” and “legs” and you can control it with a remote, and rotate the joystick to spin it 360 degrees. Hopefully we won’t see an army of these on our streets anytime soon.

Aquapulse heart rate monitor ships

Despite the fact that it took two full years to go from announced to shipped status, Finis’ Aquapulse is now finally shipping. It’s a head-mounted device that uses an Infrared sensor to monitor your heart rate via your earlobe.

You get the rate in real time through bone conduction technology. Pretty interesting technology, for the health conscious. It will even go underwater for swimmers. It will cost you $149.99. Hey it’s the hardest working muscle in your body. It’s worth it right?

Acer TravelMate 8481 coming in late August

Acer’s TravelMate 8481 features an extra thin bezel and 13 hours of battery life for those of you who are on the road. Acer originally had a mid-June launch in mind, but now we have word that the Core i7-packing notebook is coming in late August.

UK pricing is £699, though we have no idea yet when it will arrive in the states. When we hear something we will let you know as usual.

Audio Technica AT-SPB30 2.1ch Active Speaker

Want a speaker that looks sort of like a cheap camera? This is your lucky day. The Audio Technica AT-SPB30 2.1ch active speaker measures 120mm x 250mm x 110mm and offers 47k of impedance and a frequency response of 60Hz – 20,000Hz.

The Audio Technica AT-SPB30 uses four AA batteries, (Just like a cheap camera) which gives it enough power for about 40 hours. It’s available in black or yellow and retails for $142.60.

gScreen Spacebook finally available for pre-order

Has it really been two years since we last saw the Spacebook that gScreen intended to offer? Sure has. Looks like it is finally available for pre-order and the specs have been upgraded too. You might remember that it features two full 17.3-inch monitors that with 1920 x 1080 resolutions.

The entry level model starts at $2,395, with a Core i5-560M processor, 4GB of RAM, and a GeForce GTS 250M GPU with 1GB of VRAM. The high-end model has a Core i7-740M CPU and 8GB of memory, with the rest of the specs the same for $2,795.

Gresso unveils $30,000 white iPhone 4

Chrome Niko Camera Bag

Many camera bags lack the necessary room to hold your charger or another battery or anything else inside. It might not make a lot of sense, but that’s just how it is. You have lenses that you need to carry with you as well. Well, the Chrome Niko might be the solution.

It has a side-opening compartment with Velcro dividers so you can customize the layout to fit your camera and your other gear. There is another zippered opening on top, with room for your charger, extra batteries, etc. The bag is made from weather proof 1050 denier nylon with a waterproof 18-ounce tarpaulin liner.

First Sony NEX-7 DSLR image spotted

Looks like the Sony NEX-7 digital SLR rumors are true. It will mimic the look of an older Konica-Minolta Dimage A2. We know this because a new digital image of the upcoming Sony shooter has been leaked. The image is said to be of a pre-production unit, so some changes will likely happen. A rangefinder similar to that of the Fujifilm X100 can be seen on the image as well.

The camera is expected to get a 24-megapixel sensor from the A77 and a three million-pixel OLED EVF that’s not a hybrid viewfinder. There’s also a Carl Zeiss 24mm f1.8 prototype lens has been seen attached to the DSLR in the image, a hot shoe, and flash and image preview buttons, the pop-up flash, manual aperture and shutter speed controls. Wearing a suit and tie in the office can make for a hot day, but with Thanko’s latest offering, you can cool down while wearing your monkey suit. The USB-powered necktie clip cooler is just $35. Sadly it’s only available to those in Japan though.

I guess the rest of us will just have to sweat a bit longer. The device is powered by either USB or a battery. Just clip it to your tie and it will send fresh air your way. This is basically just a computer fan mounted on your tie.

Green-House unveils three USB 3.0 External SSD Drives in Japan

Green-House has a trio of new external SSDs arriving by the end of the month. Arriving in Japan anyway. These drives come in three sizes, 64GB, 128GB and 256GB and you can expect USB 3.0 connectivity along with a 220MB/s read speed and 180MB/s write speed.

Those of you with USB 3.0 ports will feel the need for speed as you transfer files much faster. They cost the equivalent of $339, $503 and $997. Speed kills…the wallet.

Netflix for Nintendo 3DS now streaming

Right on schedule, this morning Netflix for 3DS owners is now available. The app gives the game system access to the entire catalog as long as you have a streaming-enabled plan. Bookmarking works and lets users resume on the 3DS or even another device.

Obviously videos on Netflix are in 2D. We doubt that Netflix will start adding 3D anytime soon. The app is free to download from the Nintendo eShop. With the new price structure streaming is $8, but costs $16 for those who also want unlimited DVDs as well.

Sony Wall Mounted CMT-CX5 Audio System And iPhone Dock

Sony has a new audio system: the Sony CMT-CX5. It’s a wall mounted system that includes an iPhone, iPod dock, CD player and DAB/DAB+/FM radio. Its also has USB connectivity so that you can attach and play audio from an external hard drive, or flash drive.

The CMT-CX5 uses Sony’s Dynamic Sound Generator Xtra (DSGX) technology and will be available in either black or white. It launches next month. Sadly we don’t have any info regarding pricing and availability yet.

Onda Vi30 Android Tablet

Onda’s latest tablet in their line of Android tablets is the Vi30. This tablet is powered by a 1.2GHz RK2918 Cortex-A8 processor, with an 8.0-inch 1024 x 768 capacitive touchscreen display, 512MB DDR3 RAM and 16GB of internal storage.

Other features include a microSD card slot (up to 32GB), a 1.3MP front-facing camera, 1080p Full HD video playback support, 3G, WiFi, OTG function, a USB 2.0 port, a 3.5mm headset jack, an HDMI port and Android 2.3 is running it all. The Onda V130 is available now for 1,499 Yuan (about $232).

Sony HD-PG5 500GB External Hard Drive

Hard to believe, but Sony has introduced its first external hard drive, the HD-PG5. This storage device delivers 500GB of storage on a 2.5-inch disk and allows users to connect devices via USB 3.0 or USB 2.0.

The device also allows you to record HD content directly from your Bravia TV. The Sony HD-PG5 500GB external hard drive should be shipping in the UK, France and Germany later this month. Hopefully it will reach us soon as well.
