SpectraLink NetLink 8000 series Wireless TelephonesSpectraLink is giving enterprises more options with the release of the NetLink 8000 Series Wireless Telephones. The 8000 series consists of two next-generation Wi-Fi telephony handsets that support the IEEE 802.11a, b and g radio standards. Autonet Mobile to Launch WiFi for VehiclesAutonet Mobile has announced that it is going to launch a product to provide broadband internet connections through a WiFi hotspot in vehicles. Autonet is planning on unveiling the mobile WiFi product at the CES International in Las Vegas on January 8th. They are also expected to make an agreement this week with Avis Car rental to provide the WiFi system in their rental cars by March of this year for an additional $10.95 a day.

The rolling WiFi hotspot is expected to cost around $399 initially along with a $49/month service fee. Since Autonet takes the service fee, they are also acting as the internet service provider with the 3G back-end connection. This is slightly different from most hardware sales for WiFi where consumers would have to purchase the hardware and internet service plan separately. “Our goal was to deliver …

Archos 604 WiFi Portable Video Player

The Archos 604 WiFi is very similar to the previous version of the Archos 604 Video Player that we featured in September, but they’ve added a very cool feature – WiFi. The WiFi feature enables wireless connections to transfer files, as well as wireless surfing of the web and emailing (through web based email systems) right out of the device.

The Archos 604 is still the same great solution for watching portable videos, and also works great for viewing photos and listening to music, a lot of which you can do simultaneously. The 30 GB hard drive allows for storage of up to 25 full length movies, 130 hours of TV shows recorded through an optional DVR station, 300k photos or 15k songs. The video player also has a built in speaker and a little kickstand on the back so …

eStarling Picture Frame

The eStarling 7 inch LCD digital picture frame allows you to rotate through different digital pictures on the frame, but that certainly is not what makes it special.

This picture frame is also WiFi enabled and picks up photos without wires from email, a Flickr RSS stream and from an external media card. This means that once you have set it up, it stands alone and gets new photos sent to it automatically.

The Starling picture frame itself can check email by configuring a POP3 email account along with user name and password. After that, just send an email to the address with a JPEG or GIF file and the picture frame will catch it and add it to the rotation.

You can also define a key word for your feed with Flickr and have it bring in a rotation of photos based on your …
