Waterproof MP4 Video Player |
We’ve seen a number of waterproof MP3 players come across our desks but a waterproof video player has been a little harder to come by. Chinavasion now has a Waterproof MP4 player (for lack of a better name) on the way that allows you to watch your videos in the tub, pool, lake or any other body of water you would like and keeps the video playing up to 3 meters under.
The LCD is a little on the small side at 1.8″ with a resolution of only 128×128. But in an effort to keep our glass half-full, the modest 1GB of memory can probably hold a decent amount of video at this resolution. Not only can you watch underwater but the Waterproof video player also comes with waterproof earphones to listen, too.
It also comes packaged with an armband and neckstrap, and …

Any real Dr. Who fan would have trouble passing up the chance to have this Cyberman shower radio’s cold stare with you each morning. The head picks up AM and FM signals and has a pretty blue glow in its mouth when tuning in stations. The eyes will even light up when switching between AM and FM, and it sports some control knobs that are well-hidden into the design of the replica.

Great for use at the beach, on a boat or at the pool. They might not have the greatest feel for shuffling or dealing, but at least they’ll last more than one night of my friends. They even come in a protective translucent case in colors of blue, green, red or clear for $7 each.
Twinbird is known for it’s waterproof gadgets and the latest they’ve brought to the market is an MP3 player with some pretty cool underwater-able features.
Freestyle Audio has made one super tough MP3 player that’s built to handle just about any extreme activities you can dish out. They show examples of using it while surfing, swimming and they have a video below showing it being dropped off of a 3rd story building onto concrete (they drop and iPod nano as well). The results of the video shows the Freestyle MP3 player turn on, but it really doesn’t say if it still plays music. Either way the fact that it didn’t break apart and still powered up is impressive.
