If you tune into the Simpsons tonight, you’ll be in for a special treat. The visuals will be sharper. Bart’s butt will be crisper, should he bare it. Barney’s puke chunkier. You may even find that Homer has an extra strand of hair you didn’t know about. Springfield will come to life like never before as the show will be presented in HD for the very first time.

In honor of that fact, the show’s intro is getting a makeover. It’s longer and more HD-a-riffic. They’ve basically added about a minute as the family chases down their couch.

What, you ask, could be better than a radio shaped like Homer Simpson’s head? It would have to be a shower radio shaped like Homer Simpson’s head, no less. What’s also better about this model is that it’s a talking Homer Simpson radio that will say one of six shower-related phrases when you press his ear. So now you can have Homer with you in the shower, too. How cool is that?!?

Homer’s right eye controls tuning in the AM or FM stations and the left controls the volume with the speaker appropriately at his mouth. With a hook to hang over the shower head the Homer radio is of course water resistant and is powered by three AAA batteries. retailing for $39.95.

The Simpsons merchandising marches on strong with this Homer Head Radio from the SimpsonsShop. It really has no special features other than being a standard AM/FM receiver with built-in speakers. (We were hoping for some sort of Homer sounds clips.)

Fox is putting out this limited edition soundtrack for the upcoming Simpsons movie with the disc housed in a pink frosted plastic donut that would meet approval (and likely be eaten) by Homer himself. The disc contains the complete soundtrack of the move composed by Hans Zimmer, and is available for pre-order now through Amazon for $22.99. The donut-encased Simpsons movie soundtrack will ship on July 31st.

Now that the Simpsons have a new feature film heading for the big screen Fox has teamed up with Microsoft to make a shiny yellow Simpsons-themed Xbox 360 to help promote the movie. The 360 case and controller have been given a glossy coat of Simpsons-yellow paint along with a big picture of the top half of Homer’s head on the side.

For those of you that are Simpsons collectors or Xbox Collectors, actually getting your hands on one of these Simpson’s Xbox’s might prove to be difficult as Microsoft is only making 100 of them. The units that they do make will be used to be given out and different events and promotions for the Simpsons movie.
