iPod Touch Coming Next Week?

Posted in Apple,iPod,Rumors by Reuben Drake on July 31st, 2007

iPod Touch could be the latest iPod coming from Apple next weekRumors are running about regarding a new iPod from Apple that may be released next week, and presumably will be called the iPod Touch. The word is the Touch design will be a 2×2 inch square that plays music and videos, coming with flash-based storage capacities of 4GB and 8GB.

It would essentially be a “nano” sized iPhone without any phone capabilities and will run $299 for the 4GB and $399 for the 8GB. Some type of announcement for the potential iPod Touch is expected to happen on August 7th but just this afternoon it sounds like invitations went out from Apple for an event on that day regarding the new Mac. So maybe we’ll have to wait a little longer to see a new iPod, but we’ll be watching Tuesday to see exactly what pans out….

Top End Samsung SGH-G800 Camera-Phone

Posted in Digital Cameras,Mobile Phones,Rumors,Samsung by Chetz on July 27th, 2007

Samsung SGH-G800 camera phoneSome leaked photos and information was picked up today about the upcoming Samsung SGH-G800 camera phone. The G800 looks to be 5 megapixel point and shoot camera with a tri-band GSM/EDGE phone tacked on its back (depending on how you look at it) which supports 3G HSDPA.

If the rumors are accurate it will support Bluetooth, a USB 2.0 connection and has a microSD expansion slot. The camera has a 3x optical zoom and adds on one of those fancy Xenon flashes. The SGH-G800 will also have a 2.4″ QVGA display with dimensions of no more than 4 inches long which very compact for a 5 megapixel shooter or a phone, much less both of them combined.

New iMac Keyboard?

Posted in iMac,Keyboards,Rumors by Reuben Drake on July 27th, 2007

sneak peak at what might be the new iMac KeyboardIs this a picture of a new keyboard from Apple that will come with the new iMac? The folks over at Engadget received a tip and this looks like it could be legit. It has the same brushed aluminum finish as we are expecting with the new iMac and it’s certainly as thin as we would like to see as one of the photos holds up a ruler showing the keys sticking up to just slightly over one millimeter.

The rumor came from a message board where someone had a number of these supposed new iMac keyboards for sale for just over $150 each. Since then most of the pictures have been taken down.

As Engadget pointed out, there isn’t an Apple logo on the command key which seems odd, but if this isn’t the real …

Xbox 360 Price Cut Coming?

Posted in Microsoft,Rumors,Xbox 360 by Chris Weber on July 25th, 2007

Xbox 360 price cut may be coming in AugustAccording to HollywoodReporter some unknown sources say that the Xbox 360 from Microsoft will see a $50 price reduction next month to try to boost up sales of the game console. The price cut is expected on August 8th to be exact, but it was not clear whether the price cut would be on the Core, Pro, Elite or all three.

Many expected some type of price reduction announcement at E3 this year, but were met with disappointment as no such announcement was made, and Microsoft is neither confirming nor denying plans for a reduction in the price coming up.

The rumored August 8th announcement date may actually have some meaning since shortly after that “Madden NFL 08″ will be coming out along with titles “BioShock” and “John Woo Presents Stranglehold” coming later in the month which would help …

Sixth Generation iPod UI Leaked?

Posted in iPod,Rumors by Reuben Drake on July 22nd, 2007

Sixth generation (6G) iPod interface rumorDAPReview made a copy of video clips it got from MacRumors with some supposed footage of the next generation iPod interface. Unfortunately MacRumors took the post down stating it was for legal reasons due to Apple’s request, which of course helps make the rumor seem more legit.

The video shows some short clips of the “Now Playing” screen, some navigation and the World Clock. We would expect the 6G iPod interface to be quite a bit more like the iPhone interface, but either this preview doesn’t do the interface justice or it’s just not going to be all that cool.

Take a look at the video clips here and see what you think:

Beatles Yellow Submarine iPod

Posted in Apple,iPod,Rumors by Reuben Drake on July 15th, 2007

Beatles Yellow Submarine iPodNow that the the dust is settling a little bit from the iPhone launch it looks like it’s time to ramp up the rumor mills again around the the Beatles and the potential of a special, limited edition version of the Apple iPod. Pictured here is a mocked up version of what a Beatles Yellow Submarine iPod just might look like from TechDigest. It sports simply a bright yellow-submarine color and comes pre-loaded with every Beatles album ever made.

This special edition iPod has been rumored for quite a while now and we really like the idea (and TechDigest’s rendition). The talk is that this yellow iPod would be launched at the same time that the Beatles songs go on sale through iTunes. It also potentially could be available for only a month while iTunes has the Beatles albums and it’s competition does …

Rumors of Santa Rosa iMacs With Brushed Metal Frame

Posted in iMac,Mac,News,Rumors by Darrin Olson on July 8th, 2007

New iMacs rumored to have Santa Rosa chipset and brushed aluminum frame for AugustMore rumors are being fuled across the blogosphere from ThinkSecret with additional information on the new iMacs from Apple. It looks like the release of these new units are on track for an August launch and will be sporting a brushed aluminum enclosure instead of the shiny white plastic. Although the frame overall will be very similar to the current iMac it will be thinned down to only 2 inches thick. The bottom space below the screen will be shorter too, giving more screen compared to overall size on the enclosure.

The real anticipation for these Macs comes from the Santa Rosa chipset that’s expected to come along inside them maxing out a 2.4GHz. They also are rumored to come in sizes of only 20″ and 24″, and the line of smaller 17″ screens …
