Red iPhone in time for X-Mas?

Posted in Apple,iPhone,Rumors by Chetz on October 15th, 2007

Rumors of a red iPhone from AppleSo an anonymous tipster sent in a purported AT&T internal inventory sheet which lists off an Apple iPhone in red with 4GB and one with 8GB. No price, no delivery date, nothing else except that this thing supposedly exists to AT&T. This is the first report that has surfaced of any kind of alternative color to the iPhone and of course it should be noted that Apple hasn’t said anything about its iPhone coming in another color besides white. Still, bear in mind the color variance of the Nano; did anyone out there really think that Apple wouldn’t release different color iPhones eventually? But why no mention of a black iPhone?

Here’s the other thing to bear in mind: will this “deep red” iPhone be out in time for the holiday shopping season?

Is a golden Zelda DS Lite in your future?

Posted in Nintendo,Nintendo DS,Rumors by Conner Flynn on October 11th, 2007

Rumor is that the Shiny golden DS Lite you see in the lower left of the picture may be headed for retail store shelves soon.It sure is looking that way. Rumor is that the Shiny golden DS Lite you see in the lower left of the picture may be headed for retail store shelves soon. That shouldn’t be a big surprise since we are entering into the holiday season. Plus, Nintendo marketing knows that we like shiny objects. Shiny gold objects, especially. Seriously, we aren’t that hard to please.

The above photograph is believed to have been taken at the Nintendo World Store when “Phantom Hourglass” launched. To make things even more interesting, Engadget is claiming that a certain individual is saying that his company has received orders from Nintendo to design graphics for a “BOX, SYST GOLD W/ZELDA: HOUR USG.” Who knows if this is all true. And if it is true, it could just be a limited run for a contest. But since Santa is coming soon, I’m betting an official announcement from Nintendo will proceed him.

Posted in PS3,Rumors,Sony by Darrin Olson on October 4th, 2007

Sony rumors of a PS3 price drop in the UK in OctoberThe rumor mill is up and running right away this morning due to rumors that Sony will have a price cut coming soon for the Playstation 3 in the UK. Not only are there rumors on just a price cut but also a whole new 40GB PS3 model, both coming sometime in October.

According to Pocket-lint, “multiple sources” at Sony have confirmed that Sony will be creating a 40GB version of the PS3 for the UK market and it will be retailing for £299, making more direct competition for the Xbox 360. According to the sources they will also be dropping the price of the 60GB model by £56 bringing it to £369. The new 40GB model would feature Blu-ray (making a very competitive Blu-ray player alone) along with Wi-Fi and a SIXAXIS controller, but will be slightly scaled down sans two of four USB ports and a memory card reader.

Zune 2 with Wi-Fi, DRM-free music and “Zune Pad”

Posted in Microsoft,Rumors,Zune,Zune 2 by Darrin Olson on October 2nd, 2007

Zune 2 is getting close to launch with leaked photos, features and priceAs the launch of the second generation Zune, or Zune 2, from Microsoft nears the rumors are flying at full steam regarding pricing and the features that the new media players will house. From what we’ve ascertained the launch is scheduled for October 3rd at midnight and will bring three new models of the Microsoft Zune player along with new features and content on the Zune Marketplace (iTunes for Zunes).

Along with some FCC leaks showing 4GB and 8GB flashed-based Zunes (codenamed “draco”), ZuneScene has the skinny on pricing along with some additional juicy details. These are still in the rumor stages mind you, but it looks like a new 80GB version will be going for $249 with an 8GB model going for $199 and a 4GB model for $149. The 8GB and 4GB models are expected to come in black, red, green or pink but the thinner 80GB will come in only black.

Sidekick LX kickin’ it next month?

Posted in Rumors,Sidekick,Sidekick LX by Reuben Drake on September 20th, 2007

Advertisment picture of the Sidekick LX launch dateThe folks over at Hiptop3 have come across some classically blurry rumor-mill photos of the new upcoming Sidekick LX along with an advertisement showing a launch date. The ad shows that the new LX will be available on October 24 where you’ll be able to “kick it to the next level”. So, to answer all of your questions about the release date; I would still file this under “rumors” but just over a month away is the best thing we could find so far.

The advertisement flier also states the that the Sidekick LX will feature 24/7 access to MySpace and a larger, sharper screen. The actual small-print text and an equally blurry photo of the Sidekick LX itself after the jump.

Zune 2 Real Soon

Posted in Microsoft,Rumors,Zune by Chetz on September 19th, 2007

A new Zune 2 may be coming from Microsoft soon The first rumor of a new Zune in development came our way in June and then last week a photo suggesting that a second version Zune was soon to be a reality surfaced. Now comes the biggest bit of gossip yet about the reality of Zune 2 courtesy of Zune Scene: their inside source tells them that Zune 2 will go on sale starting October 16. Isn’t that less than one month away? Hey Microsoft, you better wake up and announce this thing officially or are you just waiting until that wave of “Halo 3″ mania passes us by?

Zune Scene further establishes that the new Zunes will come in 4GB, 8GB and 80GB versions and that they will be available in red, black, pink and a green that best resembles the one found on …

Signs of a Zune 2?

Posted in Microsoft,Rumors,Zune by Darrin Olson on September 9th, 2007

Speculation that a Zune 2 is coming from Microsoft due to a leaked Zune 2 pricing sheetDoing our fair share of feeding the rumor mill today, a pricing sheet has been circling the blogosphere which lists Zune accessories appended by “V2″ (version 2), leading many to believe a second version of the Zune media player is in the works.

We did see a recent price cut of the existing Zune player which is a common practice to make room for the next model, which for us makes a Zune 2 rumor that much more plausible. (And of course the poor-quality photo always makes us feel like it’s a planned rumor.)

New Sidekick Launch Scheduled for October?

Posted in News,Rumors,Sidekick,Sidekick LX,T-Mobile by Darrin Olson on September 9th, 2007

Possible release party for the Sidekick LX Sidekick SlideThe folks over at HipTop3 came across some information on MySpace that leads us to believe that T-Mobile may be planning a launch party for a new Sidekick in October.

DJ AM, who has played for the previous T-Mobile launch parties of the Sidekick II and Sidekick 3, has October 16th blocked out for another private party with T-Mobile. This would also be good timing for the launch as well, with the holiday shopping season approaching.

T-Mobile Germany Leaks Europe iPhone Launch Info

Posted in iPhone,News,Rumors by Darrin Olson on September 8th, 2007

An ad from T-Mobile Germany leaks information about a Europe launch of the Apple iPhoneA leaked advertisement from T-Mobile Germany gives some inside information that the iPhone may be launching in Europe in November, with tri-band HSDPA and a larger storage capacity.

According to the ad the iPhone will have a launch date of November 12 with T-Mobile, which we knew Apple was planning a launch before the holidays but not exactly when. The iPhone will go for 499 Euros, or about $687 USD, which is higher than the US original price of $599 and way higher than the recently cut price of $399. But, it looks like this model will have 16GB of memory which is twice the largest 8GB model available in the US. It wouldn’t be surprising if Apple started offering this larger capacity in the US before the holidays as well, which would make sense with the lower price on the 8GB and the discontinuation of the smaller 4GB version.

Posted in Google,Google Phone,Mobile Phones,Rumors by Reuben Drake on September 4th, 2007

More information has come about on the Google PhoneRumors and speculation are getting heavy regarding information on the Google phone, and this time CrunchGear has dug up some reported “facts” about the device and its functionality.

According to the information from GigaOM, the supposed first Google phone might not be quite as cool or fancy as many of the photos floating around the net have depicted, and we’ve seem other rumors that it may be as cheap as $100 once released.

U-Suit Case for Non-Existent iPod?

Posted in iPod Accessories,iPod Nano,Rumors by Reuben Drake on September 3rd, 2007

iPod case manufacturer releases case for new video iPod before its announcedAccording to iLounge, a manufacturer named Uniea that makes cases for Apple products such as iPods and MacBook’s has now released a U-Suit branded case for an iPod that has not been announced yet..

The advertisement says the case is designed for the “New iPod” and bears the short, fat design that we’ve seen in a number of the rumored pictures. According to the report, the case “features a soft leather exterior, hard plastic interior with scratch-resistant inner lining, and a front hole sized for a roughly 2.3-inch screen and iPod nano-sized Click Wheel.” Maybe that screen won’t be too small to watch video’s on?

New Video iPod Nano Enhanced Rumor Pic

Posted in Apple,iPod Nano,Rumors by Reuben Drake on September 3rd, 2007

New “fatter” looking iPod Nano videoWe’ve seen a few different grainy photos of what might be a new video iPod Nano from Apple floating around the web, but here is the best quality one yet. We’re still chalking this one up to the “rumors” list but this photo fits the bill from what we’ve heard so far; appearing shorter with a small video screen that frankly may be just too small to watch videos on, anyway.

There’s a very good chance that this is the result of some skilled Photoshop work based on a hand holding the current Nano but either way I don’t think we’re going to have to wait long to find out as Jobs and the rest of Apple are still gearing up for some “The Beat Goes On” announcement on Wednesday. Keep watching…

Sony Rolly Video Has Strange, Music Loving Gadget

Posted in music,Rumors,Sony by Darrin Olson on September 1st, 2007

Sony Rolly video shows off strange looking rolling, dancing device that responds to musicThe Sony Rolly is something that’s got a lot of people talking about Sony, which may be the whole point of the device, whether its real or not. This Miuro look-a-like (which interestingly we reported on exactly one year ago), appears to respond to music by rolling and “dancing” around on the floor. From the video it looks football shaped and can move forward or back, turn, spin, has some “wings” that open on the sides like little arms when it dances along with some glowing lights that change color as it moves.

There really isn’t any information about the Rolly available aside from this strange video, which again might be intentional by Sony. Engadget was able to contact at least one Sony representative about the product who neither confirmed nor denied any information about it. They did however say that it had nothing to do with any recent product releases from Sony. Take a look at the video after the jump and see what you think:

New video iPod Nano rumors might be real

Posted in iPod,iPod Nano,News,Rumors by Reuben Drake on August 23rd, 2007

new video iPod Nano leaked photos showing wide-screen and wide body iPodEarlier this week 9to5Mac posted some spy pics of what the new iPod Nano from Apple might look like and we, like many others, were not very impressed.

The new video Nano’s appeared to be a bit wider than previous models allowing for a small and wide video screen. The colors also appeared to be new. The spy photos are of the classic, rumor-enforcing poor quality but some colors could be recognized including light green, light blue and maybe a cranberry color along with 2 others that are said to be available when it’s released. The new Nano’s will come in 4GB and 8GB capacities and will have video capability.

Slingbox HD preview caught at FCC site

Posted in Home Theater,Rumors,Sling Media by Chris Weber on August 10th, 2007

Slingbox HD rear view showing no need for dongle with component videoTG Daily found this newer version of the Slingbox Pro from Sling Media getting its approval on the FCC web site. The new device which could end up being the “Slingbox HD” shows a new look (hopefully this isn’t final or there will be some options) and most significantly has built-in component video inputs which rids us of the need for the HD dongle needed with the current Pro model.

In a recent Revision3 interview with Sling Media’s CEO, the Slingbox HD name came out after a little prying along with a release date of January, (not specific on the year). Obviously we’re still a little bit early for complete specs and pricing but if Sling Media wants to get this out the door by the beginning of next year we should expect to hear more …
