Visomate tells your boss when you’ve been sleeping |
So you get into work in the morning and you immediately head for your spot under the desk, where you hope to pull a George Costanza and get some sleep. It’s worked so far. Suckers never check in on you. Little do you know, your boss had Visomate installed. Not good at all.
The device connects via USB and will detect when your posture is bad at your desk by keeping an eye on your eye level. If your posture slouches too much an alarm goes off, which you can silence, but you can’t stop the flashing lights. But come on, we all know that George Costanza can find a way to beat this machine. What does a guy need to do to get some shuteye at work?

Everything has to look stylish now, even the old shredder. The 5 Sheet Crosscut Studio Shredder from Black and Decker might actually look good in your home office and not immediately scream shredder. Looks like they would go well with certain Dell laptops. With a 4″ space saving, slim design you can put it anywhere.
I don’t know about you, but here at the SlipperyBrick “command and control center” we like our video wall cubes for monitoring world affairs. We are therefore quite ready to lay down some serious change for the new VS-80PH40U from Mitsubishi.
Another interesting product recently unveiled by importer SourcingMap is a laser pointer which pulls double duty as a wireless presenter control. It is called aptly enough the Red Laser Pointer Plus Laser Presenter and prices at around $13.
This little Iwavecube personal microwave is pretty self-explanatory. It’s measures just 10.5″x12″x10″ so it doesn’t take up a lot of room, but you aren’t going to be putting a big microwaveable TV dinner in there either. Have one of these at your desk and you avoid trips to the break room, keeping up your introvert profile and avoiding awkward conversations while your waiting for your stuff to heat.
European conference phone supplier Konftel hopes to inject some style and advanced functionality into boring conference room phones with its new Konftel 300. No specific price was announced, though the product is slated for U.S. release in mid-December.
We geeks like Christmas just as much if not more than most people since its the time of year when our favorite gadgets, components and games all drop in price and we place specific orders with relatives hoping someone will give them to us. We also don’t mind getting into the holiday spirit but who wants a fluffy, cheesy-looking ornament or tree on their desk?
As far as USB gadgets go the iSharpener USB pencil sharpener could be considered one of the more practical ones. It actually has a practical use although I can’t remember the last time that I actually wrote anything with a pencil. The device of course is powered by your computers USB connection but if you’re all your ports happen to be occupied at the time your lead breaks it can be backed up by 4 AA batteries.
Early in the morning for a lot of people is the time they like to talk the least. Of course right away in the morning if someone is going to fill your drink or you bring your own mug to the coffee shop you’re forced to announce out exactly what you’d like and how you’d like it, probably more than once. While this probably isn’t a problem for some, for the many that would just rather not have to make their order with a smile every morning we have the Selector Mug.
The rCard is about the size of a thick business card at 3.6″ wide, 2.04″ tall and 4.3mm thick, but does a lot more than any business card we’ve ever seen. Companies have used credit card-shaped CD’s or branded thumb drives with data on them in the past to promote products and distribute marketing media but the rCard takes it a step further; probably a couple steps further.
Most offices find it hard to go completely paperless, but with this stapler you can at least go stapleless, ridding yourself of the need to rip off the corner or remove the staple from your papers before throwing them in the handy blue paper-recycling trash can. Just think of the money you might save on staple removers alone?
Although it makes me shudder every time, when I see this lamp I envision a multitude of these little things mounted on the walls of programmer cube farms so managers can make sure the keyboards are always going. Due to this I think this lamp is just a horrible invention. Of course, I’m sure it can be used for purposes of good as well, and with a little therapy I can probably get there.
Now you can have your most important calls come through this red Crosley 302 “hotline” desk phone, designed to look like the original phone released back in 1937. The phone has the rotary dial look on its face which are actually push-buttons so you can still navigate all those wonderful
