Panasonic Lets Note Light 10.4-inch laptop with SSD |
Panasonic just announced a new 10.4-inch notebook for the Japanese market. It goes by the awkward name of “Lets Note Light” R8 CF-R8WWLAJP. The notebook features a 1.4-GHz Intel Core 2 Duo SU9400 CPU, 2GB of RAM upgradable up to 4GB, and a 64GB of SSD with 220MB/s reading speed.
The battery will provide up to 9-hours of use time. Some other features include Wi-Fi and Gigabit Ethernet. If you are so inclined, you can buy the Panasonic Lets Note Light R8 CF-R8WWLAJP for $1750.






Chinese OEM Tongfong and VIA have announced the latest Via Nano based ultraportable, the Tongfong S30A. It’s just 33mm thick and weighs 1.4kg, with a 13.3-inch display, integrated DVD burner and 2GB of RAM. It uses the VIA 1.3GHz Nano U2250 processor with the unified VIA VX800 MSP and discrete S3 Graphics Chrome 435 ULP graphics, making a great HD-capable machine.

Dospara has released the Prime Note Albireo JL, a notebook that will have you thinking twice about buying a netbook, with the affordable €640 price and the fact that you are basically getting a real PC. Some specs are: 13.3” WXGA display, Intel Core 2 Duo T8100 processor, 4GB RAM, 320GB hard drive, DVD Super Multi drive, Intel GM965 Express video chipset, and Wi-Fi connectivity.
It’s like a bullet-proof vest for your back. Only not bullet-proof. No, this won’t cause anyone any concern. You just look like you are part of some covert op and wearing your gear. I’m sure it won’t raise any eyebrows at the airport or the bank.
PeeWee PC’s Pivot Tablet Laptop is an expensive way to allow your kids to spill their drinks all over a laptop. The three pound convertible tablet features a spill and drop-resistant shell, a carry handle, a 10-inch touchscreen display and a 6-cell Li-ion battery.
Nothing fancy here. Just the typical design with a relatively low price and enough power to handle everyday tasks easily. Averatec’s latest is a 12-inch ultraportable thats powered by a 2GHz Core 2 Duo T6400 processor, a WXGA panel, 4GB of DDR2-800 RAM, a 250GB SATA hard drive, 8x SuperMulti dual-layer DVD writer, WiFi, gigabit Ethernet, a trio of USB 2.0 ports, FireWire and audio in / out.
Details are a bit scarce here, but Taiwan’s Aware Electronics has apparently been the talk Global Sources trade show, introducing a new netbook with a nice surprise. It features a detachable screen. The only other info is that it will come have just 512MB of RAM, an 8GB SSD, and either Windows or Linux for an OS.
I personally can’t imagine wrapping any laptop in something this fugly. But maybe the Cos is making a comeback or something. These are one size fits all and will cost you $20 each. That way, you and your little dog and your laptop can all wear the same sweater.
This ultraportable laptop may not come from a huge company name, but the specs certainly caught our eye, while the coat of arms etching simultaneously repelled us.
TG Sambo just rolled another notebook for the South Korea: The Averatec Star. This model will come in an ‘eco & slim’ design, with a silver-colored aluminum finish and a built-in battery pack. Under the hood, there’s an Intel Core 2 Duo P8600 2.4GHz processor, 3GB RAM, a 320GB SATA hard drive and a 13.1″ widescreen LCD display.
The Netbook arena is jam packed, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t room for one more manufacturer. In this case, OEM hardware maker OCZ. They’ve launched their first netbook, the OCZ Neutrino. The OCZ Neutrino will come with a 10 inch LED backlit LCD display with a resolution of 1024 x 600, 2GB memory, and the Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz processor.
Eurocom has outted it’s super powerful notebook, the D900F Phantom, which is powered by Intel’s i7 processor. It’s a good desktop replacement model with some powerful features. Some specs include: Intel Core i7 processor, Intel X58 chipset, Up to 8GB DDR3 RAM, 1.5TB hard drive space, NVIDIA GeForce G280/9800GTX Quadro FX3700 Graphics (1GB DDR5 Memory), 2.0 megapixel webcam, Blu-ray drive, 17″ WUXGA 1920×1200 or WSXGA+ 1600×1050 widescreen display.
