Turn your MacBook into a Hal 9000

Posted in MacBook by Conner Flynn on October 4th, 2010

Open the drive bay doors Hal. I need to put my disc in. I’m sorry Dave I can’t do that. This decal is awesome. It may not turn your MacBook into a real Hal 9000 computer, but that’s okay. You don’t want your computer trying to kill you anyway.

This is just a nice decal without all of the murder in deep space. The Hal 9000 MacBook decal is available for the 13 inch MacBook, 13, 15 and 17 inch MacBook Pro’s for just $15 each.

Apple could roll out two more MacBook Air models

Posted in MacBook by Conner Flynn on August 6th, 2010

Word on the street is that another two MacBook Air models are being prepped, shipping later this September. As far as pricing, speculation persists that it will be less than what Apple has slated its MacBook Air for currently.

These new MacBook Air models could target the mainstream notebook market, which would see its 13.3″ display shrunk down to 11.6″, with Intel’s newer ultra-low voltage Core iX processors. It’s a drop in processing power, but affordable enough to compete against other mainstream models and brands like the Acer TimelineX.

Not all that different, but at least we know a refresh isn’t very far away. New MacBook Pros running hot

Posted in MacBook by Conner Flynn on April 26th, 2010

Macs never have problems. Or so I have heard. They run perfectly and they are pretty. The end. If only that were the case. According to reviewers at PC Authority, that new Core i7 processor inside is heating up. I mean really heating up. In a bad way. Like, reaching 100°C.

If you have one of these on your lap, your nads will be fried pretty quickly, or it will at least prevent you from having children. Ouch!

MacBook Pro clone powered by Dual-core Atom and ION2

Posted in MacBook by Conner Flynn on March 30th, 2010

Sure, this looks like Apple’s MacBook Pro, but looks can be deceiving. Look closer and you’ll find that it’s really a clone. A clone powered by either a single core Atom N450 or dual-core Atom D510, coupled with NVIDIA’s ION2.

We don’t know what operating system this computer is running, but there’s a good chance that it’s Windows 7. No word on pricing or availability yet either, but you can expect the specs of this cloned MacBook Pro to include Atom N450 or D510 processors, 1-2GB DDR2 RAM, 160GB-320GB hard disk, 14.1-inch 1366 x 768 display, and Bluetooth.

MacBook Air clone includes a clone box

Posted in MacBook by Conner Flynn on February 5th, 2010

This MacBook Air clone goes the extra mile by including a clone of the MacBooks box as well, along with a manual and necessary drivers. Imagine when you open this package and find that what’s inside isn’t from Cupertino at all.

I wonder if this is enough to get Apple’s lawyers all hot and bothered. However, you have to give the cloner here some credit, it does have a user replaceable battery. It you want the package above, it will cost you $278. Possibly much more if you see this on Ebay and think it’s the real deal.
