iDesign SongView iPod alarm clock |
There’s no shortage of iPod alarm clocks on the market, but every now and then you see one that stands out. Take the iDesign SongView for instance. It suckers you in with it’s 1.3 inch scrolling display on the base, which cycles between the date and time, current song, artist, playlist and album when you’re listening to your iPod. You can actually see it from across the room.
Get it? SongView? It comes with the usual remote for controlling all the features, line out and line in jacks for external speakers and will take a non-iPod MP3 player as well. Not too bad for $99.99.

Wireless iPod docks are not new, but the trend kind of died out leaving us with
I’ve been thinking on it for awhile and I just can’t think of anything more disturbing then this Spongebob Squarepants iPod dock. Mostly the problem is that you remove his large eyeballs and watch them roll around on the table in time with whatever music you play. It’s made more disturbing by the fact that he doesn’t even have a face, just the fleshy part around the eyes. That’s all you get. Don’t buy your kids this monstrosity, unless you like your kid waking up from mutant cartoon nightmares every night, complete with music. Video below.

Well, not that deep. H2O Audio is known for their waterproof products, and here’s their latest way to bring tunes underwater. The iDive “Deep Dive” Waterproof Housing and Over Ear Speakers lets you enjoy your iPod and continue viewing/listening to your favorite media files up to depths of 300 feet below sea level. The integrated amplifier is powered by 3 AA batteries. The H2O Audio iDive Waterproof Dive Housing and Over Ear Speakers will cost you $349.99.
The makers of this lamp/iPod dock obviously believe in simplicity as well as educating people Sesame Street style on the letter C. It is a space saver. We’ve seen our share of iPod docks and USB lamps, but not together in the same device, that I’m aware of.
How great was the advent of wireless? Wires suck. Wires trip people, electrocute, strangle unsuspecting users and just generally get in the way. Headphones wires are no exception. The Onkyo MHP-UW2 Bluetooth headphones come with an emitter that attaches to your iPod and broadcasts music for up to 8 hours on a full battery.
Look, your desk is looking really messy. I get it. Too much stuff. Some of the stuff you put inside other stuff, which connects to still more stuff, which you have to disconnect to recharge other stuff. It’s enough to drive you crazy. Wires, docks and slots are everywhere, sometimes you can;t find your computer. Well here’s a great solution.

At first glance you might think that Memorex has updated those old portable 8-Track players, you know the one’s with the handles from back in the day… Okay, they kinda have. The 8-Track cassette tape is now an iPod, but otherwise it’s pretty much the same deal. The Memorex miniMOVE Boombox for iPod resembles a purse and is obviously aimed at the ladies as a fashion accessory.
