iBand with d3o shock-absorbing iPod skin

Posted in iPod Accessories by Conner Flynn on August 31st, 2009

iBand with d3o shock-absorbing iPod skinTech21 is a case manufacturer offering a product that is best described as a state-changing material that can handle impacts the way Silly Putty does. If it hits a hard surface it becomes more solid, takes the impact, then releases it, all without damaging your device which is safely inside.

According to the company, the molecules at rest move freely in a gel that’s soft and flexible, but upon impact, the molecules “lock together to spread and absorb the force,”. This increases protection up to 134% compared to other cases. That means that your device can have a longer life.

iLive Portable Boom Box Dock for iPod looks like a purse

Posted in iPod Accessories by Conner Flynn on July 5th, 2009

iLive Portable Boom Box Dock for iPod looks like a purseLooks like iLive has updated its iPod Boombox from its earlier version from a few years ago. The latest generation keeps the same similar design intact, but with a little more of a purse feeling. Will the ladies love these? Somehow I doubt it.

The design is curvier and compliments the latest iPod Nano pretty nice if you like this sort of thing. The iLive Portable Dock for iPod with Radio IB109P will play all iPod generations and will let you connect just about any external music source via the AUX jack. The AM/FM radio gives you an option aside from what’s on your device.

Einstein Sound Master Photon Ball iPod Dock

Posted in iPod Accessories by Conner Flynn on July 1st, 2009

Einstein Sound Master Photon Ball iPod DockLooking for an iPod dock for your mad science lab? The Einstein Sound Master Photon Ball iPod Dock sounds pretty impressive, but in reality it’s just one of those fancy electro-static orbs attached to a dock. Which is cool, don’t get us wrong, but it’s also kind of too much. The colored ball pulsates and flashes to the beat of the music.

It also changes colors and looks all pretty-like. Just sit your iPod in the dock, and think about what it would look like if it had hair electro-rocked by this orb. Some other features are a clock with an alarm, AM/FM radio tuner and more.

Here’s the punchline. That 50 inches of projected imagery will have a low 557×234 resolution, and will cost around $670 when it ships in Japan next month. So we aren’t sure why you should bother.

Sonoro Eklipse clock radio / iPod dockThis clock radio/iPod dock has been in Europe for a while, but looks like Sonoro’s Eklipse iPod dock/CD player/ clock radio has only just gotten official for the US, and even has a price. That price is a shocking $550. The time must be displayed in real gold.

That price gets you 7.5W of power output, an OLED display, remote, and an auxiliary jack along with your iPod dock and slot-load CD. No official word on a release date, but soon you should be able to pre-order.
