ChocoCase is the ugliest iPhone case ever
The Homade ChocoCase is an iPhone case that’s supposed to look like a delicious chocolate bar, but it just looks plain fugly. It makes your iPhone look fugly. It’s like Willy Wonka got high on Everlasting crack fumes.

As far as chocolate goes, this brand looks like it’s super cheap and would give you a severe case of diarrhea. Do you really hate your phone that much? I thought not. But hey, if you wanna ugly it up it can be yours for $29.99.

iSkin lights the Fuze on a new iPhone case

Posted in iPhone Accessories by Shane McGlaun on June 9th, 2008

iSkin FuzeLove it or hate it there is no denying that the Apple iPhone has made a big impact in the mobile phone market. Since the introduction of the iPhone most every major cell phone maker has come to market with touch enabled phones and devices. Some of the devices are good and some of them not so good.

Despite the fact that Apple is widely expected to announce the new iPhone today at the Apple WWDC, iSkin is announcing a new case for the first generation iPhone. The case is called the Fuze and despite the fact that first generation iPhone’s are hard to come by in most parts iSkin promises the Fuze is the best case around for the iPhone.

iPhone or iPod touch rotating alarm clock

iPhone or iPod touch rotating alarm clock
Here’s a pretty decent looking and unique alarm clock setup for your iPhone or iPod touch. It was designed specifically for both devices, taking advantage of their screen. This way you have your device and a slick looking clock both on display. Just like all the other docks, the iH41 will charge the player and throw out the audio.

The interesting feature here is that when you turn it on its side to view your device horizontally, the clock on the dock rotates so you can still read the time. The dock has an auxiliary jack that should be compatible with just about any MP3 player if you haven’t jumped on the iWagon yet. It will cost you $79.99 and it ships in July.

iPhone runs windows vista, kinda
Here’s a cool iPhone hack. Some of you would really love this while others would really hate it. VistaPerfection 2.0 is a complete re-skinning kit for Apple’s iPhone that lets it mimic a Windows Vista machine. Why would you want to? Hell if I know. You create things like this just because you can.

The install comes with wallpapers, sliders, sound effects and over 90 Vista-themed icons for everything from the computer to the recycle bin, plus all of the standard iPhone apps. It even gives you a simulated version of Vista’s Sidebar and Start menu. If this appeals to you, go ahead and get the full download and instructions.

Relive the past with a rotary dialler for your iPhone

Older geeks listen up. Do you miss all the fun of using a good old fashioned rotary dialler? You know, back when just entering seven digits took forever, accompanied by that sound of the dial turning back in place with each number.

The iDial is an application for your iPhone that might just bring back memories. Those days were pretty damn inconvenient, but on some levels you might say that we actually had more interaction with our devices. I guess that’s because we did half the work. The iDial is just a download away.

Kensington launches iPhone/iPod battery pack/charger

Posted in iPhone Accessories by Darrin Olson on May 6th, 2008

Kensington iPhone and iPod battery pack and charger extends the life of your iPhone or iPodKensington unveiled a couple of new battery pack/charger combos on Monday for use with Apple’s iPhone and iPods. They didn’t waste any time thinking up snappy names in this case however as the two new products simply go by “Battery Pack and Charger” and “Mini Battery Pack and Charger”. Both work with the iPhone and any current iPod models (except the 3rd generation iPod).

The larger of the two retails for $69.99 and measures not a lot smaller than the iPhone itself at 4.0″L X 0.37″H X 2.2″W, but promises to extend the life of the iPhone for up to 6 hours of talk time, 100 hours of music or 21 hours of video. It charges through a USB connection and can connect to the iPhone or an iPod through the dock port, powering and charging it simultaneously. It also sports a cool looking little LED battery meter.

iPhone Bike Mount: watch movies from your ambulance

iPhone Bike Mount: watch movies from your ambulance
I can understand wanting some tunes while riding your bike. But watching movies while you pedal away is probably not a great idea. The up side is, you’ll have something to do while the EMTs are trying to untangle your legs from your bike spokes.

Obviously, the iPhone Bike Mount is not going to improve your life. All it can really do is foreshadow your asphalt demise as your eyes are always drawn to your beautiful gadget. This particular form of assisted suicide will only cost you $14.99. And when you reach those pearly gates and they ask you what the last thing you saw was, you can tell them it was Desperate Housewives. It’s so pathetic that you might actually get a second chance. Maybe.

iTam iPhone dock puts your iPhone on a pedestal

Posted in iPhone Accessories by Conner Flynn on March 28th, 2008

iTam iPhone dock
iTam, Tam I am…I like my iTam with ham…I do not like my iTam with Sam. Enough nonsense. This iPhone dock looks like it’s just begging for someone to climb on and drop a deuce inside. Of course as we all know, looks can be deceiving. Branex Design’s Eric Berthes shaped it like a tam tam, which is a type of gong from Asia. It’s shape gives it plenty of room for sound. Which is why it’s a shame that there are just 25 watts driving each of its two channels.

For $570, you can get it in black or white, which means that rich guys can play chess with these. Me, I’m not convinced. I mean it’s all well and good, but it seems to me that this design would be out of place outside of the bathroom. I’m torn. Just looking at it, I want to at least wash my hands in the thing.

iWTF: The deceptive iPhone scale

Posted in Scales, iPhone, iPhone Accessories by Conner Flynn on January 21st, 2008

Phoney iPhone scale
Here is an odd knock off product that defies reason. A fake iPhone that’s really a scale. I guess it would be perfect for the “iDealer” in your neighborhood to weigh his wares on this scale, while having it look like the latest high-tech gadget when the police storm the door.

Upon closer inspection, it’s easy to see that somebody did a rework of the interface in MS Paint. Look for this to show up in new episodes of COPS, sitting by the dope. The other dope will be handcuffed and incoherent wearing the standard grimy white undershirt.

Turn your iPhone & iPod into a guitar

Turn your iPhone & iPod into a guitar
Let’s face it, Guitar Hero is not nearly enough for some would be Rock stars out there. To them, everything needs to have the ability to be plucked, strummed and otherwise abused musically. And the air guitar only gets you so far before people start avoiding you like the plague. This is for those people.

The PocketGuitar is a virtual guitar for the iPhone and iPod Touch. It was developed as a Google Code project by Shinya Kasatani. You can also use the songs on your iPod for those long guitar sessions. Apparently, it’s very easy to install. Now you’ll have a whole new way to annoy those around you, while getting your guitar action on.

Conice iPhone camera zoom attachmentNow that you have your thin, sharp-looking iPhone that for many adds as much style as it does functionality, you can gaudy it up with this 6x zoom attachment for the built-in camera. XtremeMac InCharge Home and InCharge Travel chargers for the iPhone and iPodThe MacWorld 2008 week is just about to come to a close but the new product announcements aren’t quite over yet. XtremeMac, maker of Apple product accessories, has launched the InCharge Home and InCharge Travel as the latest addition to the companies lineup of chargers for the iPhone and iPod. The products bear the “Works with iPhone” and “Made for iPod” brands making them Apple approved, which is something we really like to see anytime we connect something between the wall outlet and our multi-hundred dollar gadgets.

The InCharge Home is basically a $30 wall outlet adapter that will charge your iPhone or iPod without the use of a computer and without the risk of burning it up. XtremeMac says that the InCharge Home will bring your iPod or iPhone to a full charge twice as fast as it will through your computer connection.
