LEDit app for iPhone & iPod Touch

Posted in iPhone Accessories by Conner Flynn on March 22nd, 2009

LEDit app for iPhone & iPod Touch LEDit is a led screen ticker emulator app available for both the iPhone and iPod Touch. It seems pretty silly at first, but when you think about it, it’s a pretty useful tool to have. Whether you’re in a noisy place like a nightclub or a silent place like library, you can use it to send others a message instead of yelling or whispering.

Just type in the message and hit the “display message” button and LEDit will scroll the message on the screen. It even vibrates to tell you when message has finished scrolling. You can customize text color, speed and set it to repeat.

Scosche passPORT adds iPhone 3G compatibility to your iPod dock

Posted in iPhone Accessories by Conner Flynn on February 23rd, 2009

Scosche passPORT adds iPhone 3G compatibility to your iPod dockMost iPod docking stations don’t support charging capability for your iPhone 3G, iPod Touch Gen 2, and iPod Nano Gen 4. It’s because of USB voltage differences. Scosche has come up with a converter named the passPORT Home Dock, that allows users to charge their iPhone 3G on these iPod docking stations.

The passPORT Home Dock makes it fully compatible with the older iPod docking stations. To clarify, this converter/adapter is not a stand-alone dock and will not add audio/video functions by itself. You can find one at Scosche.com and Amazon.com for $39.99.

iPhone Skateboard Deck

iPhone Skateboard DeckSince you spend so much time already looking at Apple product screens, why not incorporate the theme into your skateboard? When you wreck you can crack both in half as well as some bones. Only $59.95.

Of course it’s not really cool unless you can actually use it like a real iPhone, controlling it with your feet as you do tricks. And that would call the ambulance super fast.

Card counting iPhone app is a felony in Vegas

Posted in iPhone Accessories by Conner Flynn on February 17th, 2009

Card counting iPhone app is a felony in VegasWhenever there is controversy regarding an iPhone app, it’s usually Apple who has the problem. In this case it’s Vegas who has a bone to pick with an iPhone app. Nevada gaming officials aren’t happy about a card counting app for the iPhone and iPod touch. Obviously it gives Blackjack players quite an advantage.

In fact using any device to count cards is considered a felony under Nevada laws. Good thing for cheaters that the app has a “stealth mode,” which makes it harder to spot unless you’re really looking for it. Individual casinos have their own policies on cellphones, so you better check first and make sure you know the rules, unless you plan on an extended vacation.

Review: In Your Face iPhone Holder

Review: In Your Face iPhone HolderA while back we told you about the iFlyz iPhone holder, designed to hold your iPhone during long flights. It’s a great idea for sure, but you have to question the whole suction cup idea. You don’t want to trust your expensive gadget to a suction cup.

That’s where the In Your Face iPhone holder comes in. It does pretty much the same thing, for the same price, just in a much safer way as there is no suction cup involved. Instead it uses a much stronger spring-loaded iPhone clamp. I’m happy to report that it does it’s job well and has multiple uses while you keep your hands free.

iPhone flash drive is cute

Posted in iPhone Accessories by Conner Flynn on January 22nd, 2009

iPhone flash drive is cuteI ask you, have you ever seen a cuter little flash drive? It’s a tiny gumby-looking iPhone thing. It looks like it’s doing a sit up and working out. This guy must have been what all those iPhone nano rumors were about.

Not sure how much data it will hold and it will likely fall apart in your hands after one week, due to shoddy quality and the fact that it’s made from cheap rubber. I think. But just imagine how much fun you’ll have with your little friend before that happens.

PhoneSuit unveils Mili Power Pack for iPhoneA common complaint about the iPhone and the iPhone 3g is that it runs out of juice more often than we’d like. PhoneSuit may just have the solution with it’s new Mili Power Pack. According to PhoneSuit, the Mili Power Pack will give you up to 350 hours of standby time, 6 hours of talk time or Internet use over 3G, 12 hours of talk time on EDGE, and 7 hours of Internet use over Wi-Fi. Also 28 hours of audio playback or 8 hours of video playback.

SoundClip boosts your iPhone’s audio

Posted in iPhone Accessories by Conner Flynn on January 21st, 2009

SoundClip boosts your iPhone’s audioHere is a simple solution to a minor problem. On the iPhone 3G, we’re always covering up that single tiny speaker with our huge hands. That’s where SoundClip comes in, a $7.95 attachment that will give you a slight sound boost.

It’s not exactly an amplifier, but TenOneDesign says that it passively enhances the sound by a noticeable 10 decibels. It attaches to the iPhone’s dock connector and should serve as a good reminder to keep your meaty fingers away from it. It clips onto the USB cable you use to charge your device, so it won’t get lost.

iFlyz holds your iPhone during long flights

Posted in iPhone Accessories by Conner Flynn on January 19th, 2009

iFlyz holds your iPhone during long flightsHolding your mobile device in your hand is not exactly hard work, but it can get tiring and lead to hand strain as you browse the internet and play your favorite music while travellng on a plane. Using just a suction cup on a flexible rod to grasp your gadget, the iFlyz can take care of your iPhone for you as you surf the net or watch a movie hands free.

The iFlyz makes use of an adjustable clamp to attach to an upright and locked seat tray. It will also attach to one that is open during drink or dinner service. The flexible gooseneck allows the mobile device to be turned in any angle or direction. iFlyz sells for $29.99.

Jewelbox iPod/iPhone speaker dock from Vestalife

Posted in iPhone Accessories by Conner Flynn on January 3rd, 2009

Jewelbox iPod/iPhone speaker dock from VestalifeThe Jewelbox is the second new Ladybug-inspired product from Vestalife. The other is the Firefly. The only differences in this one are the shape and the absence of a built-in subwoofer. The red is a bit more subtle on this one.

No price info or word on availability yet, we will likely know more next week at MacWorld and CES. I’m liking this one over the Firefly. If there’s one thing that Vestalife knows, it’s Ladybug speaker docks.

Posted in iPhone Accessories by Conner Flynn on January 1st, 2009

Paul Frank iPhone 3G casesBeing a man of a certain age, rather then a teenage girl, I admittedly don’t get the whole Paul Frank Monkey thing. But that monkey is damn popular. He’s on Pajamas, handbags, shirts, you name it. So it makes sense that he appears on his own iPhone 3G cases. You can find Paul Frank’s previous mobile cases here.

In all, there are five new silicon case designs, including the very colorful Paul Frank Skurvy Guitar case that is covered in wild little guitars. There’s also one covered in hearts if you want to proclaim how much you heart your new case. Each of these Paul Frank 3G iphone cases retail for $29.95.
