Posted in iPad accessories by Conner Flynn on August 31st, 2010

If you think that your iPad needs a QWERTY keyboard attached, you might want to check out this Folio keyboard. It connects to your iPad via Bluetooth. You can rest it against the collapsible back stand that comes with it so you can enjoy watching movies on your iPad while it is in the case.

The whole case acts as a protective cover for your iPad. It’s leather so it should be durable. If you pre-order the case you can get it for $130. Later the price will be $150.

Jensen JiPS-250i iPad dock with video out, speakers

Posted in iPad accessories by Conner Flynn on August 30th, 2010

Jensen has a new dock for your iPad, the JiPS-250i. It works with iPads, iPods and iPhones, but the rotating dock is designed specifically for the iPad, allowing users to adjust the display for portrait or landscape viewing. Built-in speakers amplify sound, while a video line-out let’s you attach a separate display.

There’s also a free companion app that features an alarm clock, voice recording, calendar, equalizer, music player, photo album, and social networking integration. A remote control is included.

Retro television iPad dock

While this dock puts your iPad into a case that is far too oversized, we still dig the design. This retro iPad dock was created by Jonas Damon of Frog design. We like it.

But if you are going to create an iPad dock in such a huge form factor, you better at least add some old fashioned channel dials that can control the iPad. Might as well add some rabbit ears too while they’re at it.

Freekade iPad Arcade Cabinet goes up for auction

Posted in iPad accessories by Conner Flynn on August 18th, 2010

We’ve seen some budget versions of an iPad arcade cabinet, but the Freekade arcade cabinet is much more professional. And it’s now available on eBay UK.

Right now it’s up to £82.00. It has a nice walnut effect on the side panels and a matte black finish, for that retro look. The cabinet hooks up to your iPad via Bluetooth and if you’ve jailbroken your iPad, you can even play NES, SNES and PSX emulators.

KegMate iPad powered Beer Monitor

Posted in iPad accessories by Conner Flynn on August 16th, 2010

Every party should measure the beer flow so that they don’t run out and have to make an unexpected beer run. Now, it’s easy, with the new KegMate iPad application developed by the team over at yelp.com

KegMate can monitor who is drinking from certain kegs via RFID tags, how much they have drunk and even allow them to rate the beer on screen. Sounds like fun, but people will likely be too drunk to operate it, or they will get beer all over your iPad.

Apple’s iPad Case Design now registered with Patent Office

Posted in iPad accessories by Conner Flynn on August 3rd, 2010

Sure, you have your choice of third-party iPad protective cases available, but Apple has a nicely functional iPad case of its own, and China’s patent office has now accepted Apple’s patent design for this iPad case. About time I guess.

The design has a microfiber interior and reinforced panels to provide some structure. As shown above, the case can fold down to double as a stand so you can type out emails easily. Looks a bit like a Trapper Keeper.

We are always looking to minimize desk clutter, so we are always happy to see items like this. HyperShop’s latest iPad stand offers a built-in rechargeable lithium ion battery for up to 16 hours of extra life.

Extra life is sweet, even outside of video games. The HyperMac stand has two slots at 18 and 45 degree angles, for superior viewing of movies and easier reading. It will also accept your iPad while it wears Apple’s official case.

iPort adds In-Wall Mounts for iPod Touch, iPad

Posted in iPad accessories by Conner Flynn on July 9th, 2010

With the iPort, you could theoretically have an iPad conveniently in every room. iPort will be launching the Control Mount Series for the iPod touch and iPad, later this month. The product is a wall-mountable frame that holds your igear in place, so you can use it as a touchscreen to control anything from your music to the temperature, depending on your apps.

They are priced at $250 for the CM100 and $499 for the CM2000. Obviously, you could make it yourself for much less.

Concept iPad case adds missing camera

Posted in iPad accessories by Conner Flynn on July 8th, 2010

Check out this iPad Camera Case design by Chet Rosales. It makes sense to put the camera in a case since you want a case for your iPad anyway. It’s actually a swiveling camera.

If you are worried that a front-facing camera will drain the battery, there’s extra room for an extra battery or two in this case as well. The least Apple can do is approve this thing and give people a camera, but you know they never would. Too much bulk on the left side.

Apple iPad Particle Case with stylus

Posted in iPad accessories by Conner Flynn on June 17th, 2010

Do you like scribbling on your iPad but find your fingers too clumsy? Fingers aren’t exactly a good instrument for art. The Pogo sketch stylus might offer some help, along with the Particle case from Ten One Design. It allows you to keep your stylus close with a handy holder built into the iPad case itself, which looks stylish.

The Pogo Sketch stylus has been specially designed for the iPad and turns your iPad in to a handy writing notebook and sketch pad. The Apple iPad Particle Case is just $34.95.

TILT iPad case

Posted in iPad accessories by Conner Flynn on June 14th, 2010

You need a case to protect that shiny new iPad of yours. And Hard Graft has a new TILT iPad case. The TILT case is made from 100% wool felt and provides a lightweight yet flexible case that can be turned back on its self to create a stand for tilting your iPad.

It shouldn’t add much weight to your iPad at all. Stretchy bands hold your iPad in place with two small ones over each corner and a larger band keeping the main flap in place during transport. Hopefully it is good at keeping your device secure that way.

iPad Cardboard Arcade cabinet

Posted in iPad accessories by Conner Flynn on June 11th, 2010

In April we showed you an April fool’s iPad Arcade console. But now it’s real. This is a cardboard iPad arcade console created by Hideyoshi Moriya. It’s made of cardboard and has two arcade buttons and a joystick.

To connect the controller to the iPad an Arduino board sits inside the cabinet. It looks like the controllers respond nicely and can handle the iPad games pretty well. Now you just need some art on that cabinet.

Posted in iPad accessories by Conner Flynn on May 19th, 2010

You like to kick back in your recliner, so chances are that your iPad probably likes it too. Lapworks has introduced the iPad Recliner so that your iPad can take it easy. You can rest your iPad on it and adjust the viewing angle so that it sits just right.

The iPad Recliner can elevate the iPad to almost 9-inches which is convenient while reading or watching a movie. The $35 recliner also supports other tablets and eBook readers as well.
