Nokia just announced the brand new Bluetooth Stereo Headset BH-905, which they are hailing as “the best headset ever made”. I don’t know about that, but the BH-905 allows users to either make calls or listen to music, “with virtually any compatible phone or music device.”

It also features active noise cancellation technology from Wolfson Microelectronics (along with a switch for turning it on/off), 10 microphones (8 for canceling noise and 2 for capturing speech), a dedicated multifunction key for call management, and music/volume controls.

Sony announced three new headphones this morning. The MDR-NC300D, MDR-NC33, and MDR-N600D. The Sony MDR-NC300D is a noise canceling in ears headphone with three different modes for Noise Canceling. There’s General Mode and Movie, Airplane Mode and Train, Bus, Car, Office. It is capable of suppressing up to 98.4% of the undesired noises around you.

The Sony MDR-NC33 is capable of suppressing up to 90% of noises. The Sony MDR-N600D is an “over-head” pair of headphones capable of canceling 99% of noises.

Obviously Skullcandy likes for their headphones to look loud as well as sound loud. The company has just launched its Decibel Collection, a range of wildly styled, Limited Edition “high performance” headphones that kick up the designs about as loud as they can go.

Customizable lines include Big Slick, Vibe, Dream Team, Lurker, Catfight, Audiophile, and Illustrative. You will definitely be noticed wearing these. People around you will wonder if they’ve been transported back to the 80s.

Sony has released a few new Bluetooth 2.1 headphones to delight your ears and hearts. They come with echo and noise cancellation technologies for a better experience. The duo in question consists of the Sony DR-BT100CX and DR-BT101.

They come with controls for volume, play and skipping tracks and of course you can either accept or reject incoming calls. The DR-BT100CX has USB charging with 8 hours of playback and silicon ear buds, while the DR-BT101 has a 30mm neodymium driver and 12 hours of non-stop audio playback.

Shure’s latest headphones, the ES115 will block all outside noise when in use, while at the same time keeping you looking good in blue, pink, red and black colors. They sport noise blocking technology, featuring Shure’s latest Dynamic MicroSpeaker II driver which will give you improved bass response without taking up too much space, so they will fit nicely in your ears.

They also feature three sizes of sleeves that will keep the ES115 in place. If you like bass and pretty colors, you can either play your tunes from a skittles bag or pick up the ES115 for $99.99.

The Zalman ZM-RS6F+M 6-Channel Surround Sound Headphones + Microphone is as close as you will ever get to being that Lobot guy from Empire Strikes Back. I always wondered what that guy’s deal was. It was surround sound!

Ultrasone has rolled out it’s new Edition 8 headphones, offering the highest quality acoustic output and transparency. This special edition headphones uses the company’s S-Logic Plus technology for an “impartial acoustic feeling that allows the listener even more of a spacious tonal perception.”

These headphones are all about luxury. It comes in elegant black and silver colors with each ear cup covered in soft Ethiopian sheepskin. Because sheepskin from anywhere else just won’t cut it apparently. The headphones will set you back $1,499, but if it’s any consolation they come with a leather bag.

The LoveTrainer, from Sega (which looks incredibly similar to the FiTrainer from iTami) is basically a set of headphones that you and your awkward lover wear in the bedroom. It plays music and helps you along with such inspirational statements as “The foreplay, will now begin!” and “You are making love, at a very good pace!”

Look, if you need this device, you should never ever touch a fellow human being, because you are some sort of human abomination, in the bedroom and out. That goes for you and your lame lover. Seriously, the pair of you should just invest in some old fashioned porn. If that still doesn’t teach you, then please stop trying to reproduce.

Bluetribe is a new pair of Bluetooth 2.1 headphones with a distinctly unique look from Sigma-Apo of Japan. It will sell with ear pads designed to fit most ears. Fans of Battlestar Galactica will like these right away, as the hexagon shape looks straight from the show. We’re not sure whether these will appeal to non BSG geeks or not, but they are different and retro.

The headphones can operate wirelessly with your iPod for up to 8 hours. They should be available at the end of this month for about 9,980 yen or $112. Looks like these may be a Japan-only deal though.

The wait is finally over. The much anticipated Space Invaders headphones have been released! The black model comes with a single white-pixel Invader and the original logo imprinted on each headphone, while the pink version is decorated with the Space Invaders logo and two miniature Invaders on the top and bottom of the text.

Headphones can be a gamer’s best friend. They let you play your games as loud as you want, at night, without waking up other people in the house. Many gamers are also able to hear better with headphones and pick up positional audio cues not heard with external speakers.

Turtle Beach makes headphones for just about everything and the firm has announced a new set of headphones for PS3 gamers called the Ear Force PX1. These headphones include a USB sound card and a 16-foot cable to allow the gamer to sit farther away from the console.

The Soyo FreeStyler HS11 wireless headphones are dope pretty much any way you slice it. The first and most important bit is that I would describe the aesthetic as “presidential,” “fresh and clean,” or “straight G’d out.” They are wireless from 80-300(though we reported closer to 80-100) and work with the iPhone 3G. The HS11s are also compatible with Bluetooth capable cell phones and laptops.

The Soyo Freestyler HS11s come with 5-6 hours of battery life, a built in microphone, and are Skype friendly. It’s a relief to know that I can now avoid the annoyance of shoving my headphones in pockets and tangling the wires last minute or digging into my pocket to pause my music as a friend or coworker is trying to speak to me. I can just hit the pause button on the earpiece, respond accordingly, and press play again. Oh the psychological burdens of wires and pocket-digging.

My iPhone came with a junky pair of Apple earphones that were not only uncomfortable, but didn’t sound very good to boot. This is true of most all earphones included with music phones and MP3 players, which is why the aftermarket for earphones is rather large.

Typically I think earphones are expensive if they push into the $50 price range, though I have tried sets that run into the hundred dollar range before. Ultimate Ears has announced a new set of earphones called the TripleFi 10vi that carries a price more expensive than your iPhone.
