Reverse Pac-Man game: you chase Pac-Man

Bizarro Pac-Man
What the hell? A planet where apes evolved from men? Not exactly, but a twist just as mind bending. This is a world where, instead of Pac-Man being chased by ghosts, you control the ghosts as Pac-Man comes after you. That’s the idea behind this new Flash game called “Anti Pac-Man”.

Kind of a squad based version of the old classic. You use the 1 through 4 keys to select and take command of each ghost, then you use the arrow keys to guide them through the maze and avoid the yellow dot eater. Thing is, while Pac-Man is gobbling up dots, your score goes down. By keeping your ghosts alive, you can minimize the damage and keep him from chomping more. Personally I can’t help feeling a bit like Charlton Heston at the end of Planet of the Apes. It’s just unnatural.

Retro Pac-Man guitar for the arcade rocker

Retro Pac-Man guitar

If you could get your hands on this sweet guitar, you could really jam out a great version of “Pac-Man Fever”. It was designed by Specimen Custom Guitars and it not only looks retro-cool, but it also has some cool features. Like the blinking headstock and a variable-speed knob located on the eyeball that can synchronize the blinker to the beat.

Sadly you or I will never EVER get to touch it as it is one of a kind, but it does make our inner geeks very happy in a dot-munching sort of way. Come to think of it, it looks more like a Pac-Banjo then a guitar, but I still want it.

Tabletop Pac-Man arcade game for homeNow that you’re all grown up and have that big paycheck to buy all the things that you wanted from your childhood the Brookstone people are hoping to entice you to part with $1,995 dollars for their tabletop Pac-Man arcade game. The game’s ROM is the same as the classic coin op from the 1980s right down to the sound effects, graphics and tricks that you could make if you were a Pac-Man champ. To further sweeten the impulse buy the arcade game also comes with the authentic versions of Galaga and Ms. Pac-Man. Now that $1,995 price tag doesn’t seem so crazy anymore, does it?

Pac-Man Skeleton

Pac-Man skeletonI honestly didn’t realize that Pac-Man had teeth so I guess a little paleontology lesson was in order. This skeleton was constructed by Le Gentil Garçon and François Escuilié, modeled after the skeletal structure of real predatory animals, which I guess is what Pac-Man was…er is.

This Pac-Man skeleton is a little on the strange side and quite a bit more frightening than the version in the game but I guess it answers some questions about what’s under that yellow skin. The sculpture is made of plaster and measures 35cm in diameter.
