The Millennium Table with 60 Classic Arcade Games

Posted in Furniture by Conner Flynn on January 17th, 2011

This tabletop arcade machine comes from Europe and was designed to be a coffee table/ arcade system. That’s what makes it a millennium table I guess. We need games in our tables in this millennium, otherwise it’s just a “so last century” table.

The arcade system holds 60 classic games including Space Invaders, Pac-Man, Asteroids etc. It features a 19″ LCD, fire buttons and a joy stick on both sides of the table for two player games. The Millennium Table retails for £1900.00 (or about $3010).

It must be awesome to be a kid and have rich parents. For those people, a company called PoshTots is offering Deep Space Fighter Beds that look like space ships. Specifically TIE Fighters. Forget counting sheep. Instead go pew pew pew on some X-Wings.

You’ll be able to pick and choose what yours looks like since they are customizable with accompanying wall murals and such. The base price is around $18,000. Pew pew pew.

NES Coffee Table

Posted in Furniture by Conner Flynn on September 9th, 2010

This NES Coffee Table is far too beautiful to rest your coffee on for even a second. It is a perfect oversized replica of the console that we all know and love.

The best part is that this Cool NES Coffee Table has a fully functional gigantic controller that you can find stored in the game slot. And you won’t even have to take a cartridge out and blow on it to get it to work.

VHS coffee table

Posted in Furniture by Conner Flynn on August 25th, 2010

Many of us have tons of VHS tapes laying around the house, even today. Here’s a great project that will help you better use them. This VHS coffee table was created using 92 old VHS tapes as the table’s base.

It’s a great way to recycle all those old VHS tapes lying around. It’s not like you are ever going to watch them again anyway, since the quality is so bad. Might as well decorate with them.

Space Invaders Couch looks uncomfortable

Posted in Furniture by Conner Flynn on July 30th, 2010

This Space Invaders couch is awesome, even if it does look uncomfortable. It’s the perfect seat for playing the classic game and once you win, you can consider it your throne as you will have vanquished your alien foes.

Sadly, this sofa will likely never get made. Only myself and two other people would buy it. It was created by designer Igor Chak. It probably folds up and eats you if you lose the game.

Circular walking bookshelf for literary human hamsters

Posted in Furniture by Conner Flynn on April 25th, 2010

Reading is awesome. It will expand your horizons, take you on amazing adventures etc. But sitting down to read isn’t helping you stay slim. These circular walking bookshelves can help you workout your body along with your brain.

Artist David Garcia has built a prototype. However this should be marketed for holding video games, not books. That’s where we need the exercise. You’ll need a large room for this thing, but it will keep you fit.

Coolest baby furniture ever for your geeklings

Posted in Furniture by Shane McGlaun on March 10th, 2010

I remember putting together the crib for my son. It took a while to get the thing put together and then I realized it wouldn’t roll through the door to his room after I built it in the living room. It seemed like only a few weeks later he needed a toddler bed and we were throwing the crib out.

If you have young geeks and you want some cool baby furniture that you can use for a while, Andesen furniture has a concept that is just for you. The Smart Kid furniture starts as a crib with drawers under and beside the bed to store things in.

T3 Multi-Touch Table

Posted in Furniture by Conner Flynn on March 10th, 2010

The coffee table isn’t what it used to be. Take Digital Touch’s T3-B table, a coffee table sized unit with a built-in 26-inch LCD and Wi-Fi. It will let you browse and interact with all kinds of things your old coffee table couldn’t.

The table also features an orientation switch to view your content from any side of the table. If that isn’t enough, the table can also be hooked up with an optional receipt printer, credit card reader and TV tuner. Perfect for a hotel environment or restaurant.

Chilipad: One side is warm, one side is cold

Posted in Furniture by Conner Flynn on February 4th, 2010

What do you do when your spouse is hot and you are cold? Turning the heat up or down unfortunately affects you both. The Chilipad is like an electric blanket capable of both hot and cold. It works by pumping water through a series of tubes and can keep everyone happy.

The manufacturers claim that it runs under 20dBa, which should keep things quiet. You can pick up the dual-zone pad, which allows you to adjust the temperature of both sides independently as mentioned. It’s not cheap, but its better than hearing your wife complain right?

Pac-Man Bookcase: There goes your new HDTV

Posted in Furniture by Conner Flynn on January 31st, 2010

Few things in life are as awesome as Pac-Man. Even though your wife would probably have some major problems with this Pac-Man bookcase, which looks all set to eat up that HDTV. But if you are not married, this is an awesome piece of decor.

This guy is called the “Puck-Man” Bookcase for legal reasons and comes from an Italian design firm, so it probably costs more than it’s worth. I’m thinking it needs some ghost bookshelves on the other walls. Maybe then it will leave your TV alone.

Posted in Furniture by Conner Flynn on January 24th, 2010

Looking for something a little different to jazz up your living room? iTables ought to do just that. These iPod-shaped tables are designed by Italian artist Mirko Ginepro for Milan Design Week. iTables are all custom made to order.

Just like a real iPod there is even storage inside for books, magazines, whatever. Your guests will think you are making a real art statement if you lay out all of your Apple gear on the table.

Daily Shelter, a table that turns into a fort

Posted in Furniture by Conner Flynn on January 18th, 2010

Kids love to hide under tables. Problem is they don’t make great forts, since every side is exposed and the adults occasionally like to eat on it. The “Daily Shelter” by artist Ingrid Brandth is a dining-room table that kids will love.

It converts to a secret fort. First, it’s an ordinary table. But it can secretly turn into a shelter where kids can hide from scary ghosts or just use their imagination. Ask any kid, there’s nothing cooler than a fort. A table that turns into a fort? Pure awesomeness.

Retro-tech Platinum table: Great idea, insane price

Posted in Furniture by Conner Flynn on January 12th, 2010

The Retro-tech Platinum table is a coffee table with a 22-inch monitor and a computer inside. The idea is that you hook the table up to your TV as a media center. Which is a pretty nifty idea. Especially for parties and get-togethers.

The problem is that it costs $4,850. You could do this yourself for hardly anything. It’s the sort of product that gets us all excited to put this in our livingroom and then sh*ts all over our carpet with it’s insane price. Oh well, someone will do a better version for far cheaper.
